From the writer of Prince Dracula and The Blood Queen come ten new horror tales that reach out from under your bed and stretch into the darkness at the edge of space. Inhabited takes you on a journey that shows you the things that have always lingered just past the corner of your eye. Inside the shadows, you’ll find . . . •A meticulously planned home invasion going terribly wrong. •A young boy resolving to save his little brother from the monsters hiding behind every corner of their home, even if he has to risk his soul to do it. •A high school teacher starting a bad day that will get infinitely worse. •A private investigator’s late night call that might be her last. •A caretaker facing the frightening possibilities of what really dwells in the walls of his church. •The crew of a vessel sent on a years-long mission to the outer reaches of the solar system discovering the truth behind the suspicion that we are not alone. This book isn’t just a tour of the dark side of imagination. This book will leave you Inhabited.
A solid collection of horror short stories. My favorite was the monster under the kid's bed tale. The home invasion story was very good, and great mood in "The Caretaker," although the ending petered out a bit.
Least favorites, no surprise given my eternal boredom in the face of zombies and the Lovecraftian, were those two yarns.
The right amount of creepy to make you question the time of day you read it. I got lost in the stories and hoped for more when it was done. Well written and very enjoyable
Very enjoyable well-written short stories. Recommended if you are looking for stories that will make you question the things that go bump in the night.
