There is magic in the modern world. It surrounds you, hiding in plain sight. The commuter next you you may be Talent. The barista behind the counter may not be human. The sound you hear just outside your window? May be far more dangerous than you think.

And power can corrupt.

A nice collection of Cosa short stories, though as noted at the beginning of each story, many have been previously published elsewhere. Of the 13 stories published within, only three were new to me. Still, worth a read for those three, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t bothered about tracking down all the short stories published in this universe.
I still don't like short stories, but the longer ones were good and it did help me put it down without losing the thread when my library hold came through.
Delightful collection of short works that provides great background for Wren and Sergei for those who are already fans, while being a fine introduction for new readers for many of her series.
