RANT AHEAD. AND SPOILERS. THERE WILL B SPOILERS!
I haven’t read many of this authors books, but the handful I’ve read, I’ve noticed an annoying pattern of obnoxious and super aggressive heroines who have the personalities of brain-damaged linebackers. I’m gonna check out a few more titles, on the off chance that maybe this book and the others I’ve read are flukes.
I couldn’t tell you what stood out about this book, other than the great storyline, because the rest of the book is overshadowed by the heroines stupidity and narcissism. Beware!!! There be spoilers ahead!! Continue at ur own risk!
This one. Ugh. Where to even start? First, what i DID like: the centipede scene. That was funny AF and super cute. The epilogue was also good. But that’s about it. Now, onto the bad and the ugly: How about the fact that the heroine, upon being told the hero’s secret—which he warned her that he had!!—decides that she’s “the injured party...”
Whaaaaaattt?! How?! Wut?! No she isn’t. He had told her that there were things about himself that he couldn’t tell her. He was UP FRONT that he couldn’t give her all the details yet. So, no harm done. No injury. And she keeps yapping like a harridan that having a personal bet between him and his brother is somehow being a “jerk.”
Again, no. Boone wasn’t hurting anyone else. And if anything, his exposure to living in a shoddy apt was a good thing because it enabled him to see where a problem was and to fix it. Boone had every right to enter into a bet that wasn’t hurting or using anyone else, but was instead TESTING his abilities to live in reduced circumstances. He had a right to stay there like anyone else. He wasn’t making fun of anyone or using anyone else. It was a TEST of HIS METTLE. That’s the opposite of being a jerk.
The heroine’s braindead screeching and narcissism and poutrage and acting like a spoiled toddler over something that wasn’t even slightly harmful but was actually beneficial—to her, as well as her neighbors—was extremely annoying, to the point I almost DNFed but i powered on thru.
And the witless hero, instead of sniveling and making apologies for something he had nothing to apologize over like the weak little beta guppy that he was, should have thrown her over his shoulder, spanked her silly a$$ and told her to stop acting like a child.
Just...ughhhhh. Great storyline destroyed by a ridiculous female.

Good
I really enjoyed this story. This story was quick and sweet and sexy sexy! Boone knew what he was doing was wrong but really didn’t want to lose to his brother. Sibling rivalry almost cost him his woman. Maddie was strong, loveable and independent, I really liked her. I also liked that she didn’t cave right away even though she missed him.
Can’t wait for Dakota Rebel’s next book!

Another great story by Dakota Rebel. I think she just may have my sense of humor because I actually laughed out loud quite a few times reading this one. The centipede killing scene had me rolling cuz I could just picture me and my hubs doing the same darn thing, squeals, cussing and all.

💚Yellow is exactly how I would describe Maddy, she was so fun to be around. She was smart, quirky, and had a good sense of humor she had that sunshine personality that radiated positivity. I just loved it so much.
💚And the Hero was amazing too, he was OTT, but not overly possessive, he was kind and helpful.
💚The best thing was ...... he was just like her you know. Not the serious type who is usually paired off with quirky heroines.
💚Their having so similar personalities is what made me like this book.

You're So Much Cooler Then Batman
This book was so much fun! I laughed A LOT and even got in a few awes. A romance story that can make you laugh AND swoon is one of my personal must haves!
The premise was super fun, a billionaire masquerading as an average Joe to win a bet falls for his stunning, sassy and spunky next door neighbor.
It was fun to watch Boone be knocked down a few pegs and be reminded what life is like for the other half. But underneath it all he really does have a heart of gold and a caring heart.
Maddie was so spunky and down to earth. She didn't aspire to luxury and riches, she was just looking for a comfortable life and someone to share it with.
Dakota sealed the deal for me as far as Boone was concerned when he killed the crazy rampaging bug and saved Maddie. That's real life right there! A real man will rescue you from bugs! ;)

Boone and Maddie (swoon worthy)
What an awesome book! The dialogues between Boone and Maddie were great! The chemistry between them was hot, hot, hot! There’s nothing better than an Alpha and a strong heroine. I loved how there wasn’t instant forgiveness (like a day ;)) and I loved how the h realized she was a little over dramatic. This book flowed so well. Seriously, this is making my reread list!

More than expected
This book is too cute and just the right amount of sweet. I love the double virginity and the fact that each is dealing with their own issues.
I would liked a little more backstory on Maddie’s family and how she gets along with his brother. On that note;
I can’t wait to see what happens with Brock.

So funny
The story is short but you get to know the hero Boone and heroine Maddie. There are laugh at loud moments and some hot ones too. Boone made a mistake but was able to make it up to Maddie. They are good together and have their HEA.

Nothing average about Boone
I really have to say I want a Boone of my own. He is hot alpha male all the way (not to mention he drives my dream car). This is a sweet story. I loved the double virgin storyline. Fun and fast read.

Honestly I found the whole book kind on ridiculous, and the fact that she got mad at him for being rich? Wtf, jealousy jealousy, but yeah, wouldn’t recommend this book, it’s not the worst written in the world, but the plot as I said before is a little bit dumb
