She should send me packing… for good. Five years ago I left home and didn’t look back. My high school sweetheart got pregnant so we got married. I’m not that guy. Not entirely. Then it turned out she wasn’t pregnant. And my future seemed to reopen in front of my eyes. I was a boy. Not ready for a family. So I did the only thing I knew to do – I ran. Now I’m back home, and the only thing I want is her. And I’ve changed. I’m not the hometown hotshot I once was. But she has a list of things she wants me to do to make sure I’m all the good parts of the boy she fell in love with and the man she wants to trust again. Game on.
Chloe is a hometown girl from Tennessee who loves a great short romance, drinking coffee most of the day, and hanging out with family. When she's not writing, she can be found playing the piano or surfing Facebook! Having been a reader all her life, she's hoping that you'll find yourself lost to time, laughing and falling in love all over again with her books.
He fucked countless OW while apart. Blames his bff for the divorce he was keen to have, and after which he fucked countless OW. Took ZERO ownership of ANYTHING. HAD THE GALL to get jealous thinking h may have had a sex life after him, which is laughable because of course she was celibate and didn’t even dream of dating.
What the ARCs are claiming to be a “must read romance” is beyond me.
Also, did I mention he fucked OW while apart and only came to her AFTER his oats are sowed. That doesn’t even make her second choice. What number of choice that makes her is beyond me. So as a woman I’m supposed to be elated and find it romantic that he compared vaginas for 5 years and wants to settle for mine? Did I mention he fucked OW while she stayed celibate?

It was a cute, short story that left me with many questions. Jake returns to town and I am really not sure why he is there and if he is working or planning on staying. Liv wants nothing to do with him at first but he “proves” his love for her and they end up back together. The story was too short for me to truly believe this was a HEA but the epilogue helped to show this. I received an advance copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
This story was not my favourite from C Morgan. I am really not a fan of a man leaving his first love only to bed many many women while still claiming to love her all along. It also frustrates me to no end when the heroine stays celibate while he’s living it up. If he gets lots why can’t she. It’s really not a bad story but his he gets lots while she gets none and her not making him really work for forgiveness really soured the story for me.
Safety and Spoilers Safe. No ow drama, H’s best friend tries to come between them by telling h about his sleeping around and some lies. H sleeps around a lot in their five year separation and h stays celibate. No abuse.
ONE TANTALIZING ADVENTURE!!! Reeking havoc! Morgan seizes the dynamics, lays the foundation and stabilizes the form on this rough and tumble treat that spins so intricately and interweaves with such precision it blazed this jewel together piece by piece. One chart topping, mind blowing, block busting, prize winning masterpiece propelling this gem into a tailspin with mystifying impacts. Conquering the trials and tribulations keeping pace with a slew of plot twists and engaging turns blasting this baby to life spectacularly. The characters are realistic, intriguing and authentic with depth and qualities that add just enough flaws for diversity. The scenes are so vividly detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Remarkable job Morgan, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Liv and Jake were high school sweethearts and so in love, then they went to the prom together and after Jake just left Liv with no explanation as to why. Liv was heartbroken and couldn't understand why he had left and not explained to her why. Year's later Jake returns he never stopped loving Liv and he realised what a big mistake he had made by walking away now he wants to get her back but things are not that easy. Will they get a second chance or is there too much water under the bridge even though they still love each other and have hot chemistry and connection between them. I really enjoyed reading this book and I definitely recommend this book as it is well written and definitely worth reading.
Sweet, with heat. As only Chloe Morgan can do it. This is a second chance romance with a twist of the green-eyed monster. Liv and Jake are really quite adorable together. I loved seeing them get another shot at making their relationship work. And as someone who’s years (and years, and years,) beyond where they’re at, I loved Liv’s list of “impossible” tasks for Jake to complete to prove his devotion. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
I am a huge fan of this author but his book just didn't hit the mark for me. Although it is a very quick read, the characters left a little to be desired. It's a second chance romance that left me with a few more questions than I like after reading a book. Now having said that, just because this wasn't my favorite doesn't mean it won't be yours. Please read all the reviews as well as the authors synopsis to see if this book may interest you.
What a pile of ****. I managed 50% but daren't read any more due to the risk of any damage caused by my constant eye rolling. I mean.... come on!!! He comes back after 5 years gives a 5 minute explanation as to why he left and she forgives him??? I get it's fiction, but for goodness sake, give us a h with brain. The 1 star is for my benefit, to remind me not to look at it again, the problem with KU is you get a lot of books like this, thank goodness it was free!
Hometown Hotshot by C.Morgan is an awesome second chance romance read. captivating, intriguing, emotional and touching story of 2 high school sweetheart Jake and Olivia who got pregnant and got married but turned outs she wasn’t pregnant so Jake left. a story that will captured and hooked you from start to finish, well done! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book!
C. Morgan’s Hometown Hotshot is by far a well written story, fantastic characters, an interesting storyline leading to HEA. One click it and journey with Jake & Olivia on their bumpy ride. Another five stars for this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced readers copy provided by The Parker’s ARC team💋
This is a fascinating story of a second chance at love couple, Olivia and Jake. They still have the chemistry but does he have to gumption to go through Olivia' s task list? It is one of the best story Chloe Morgan wrote this year. with some intriguing twist and turns that makes this a fabulous story. I honestly volunteered to review an arc copy.
Jake and Liv were high school sweethearts, married right out of school but ultimately got an annulment. Jake left town and now is back 5 years later realizing that there is nothing or no one that will make him happier than Liv. Liv had her heartbroken, she still loves Jake but can he prove to her this time he won’t leave?
Jake and Olivia were hometown sweethearts that fell in love and married, but something happened and their marriage end as soon as it started. Jake left town and now returned to recapture the love he had with Olivia. Olivia presents him a challenge of responsibility, which he shows that he can handle. Love stills survives through it all. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for my honest review.
Lovely little story. What was once a high-school romance and annulled marriage turns into a hope for a second chance at love and happiness when Jake returns from 5years in search of happiness - it was waiting in his home town all along. But will Liv give him the chance he so desperately wants after being treated so badly last time????
Hometown Hotshot by C. Morgan was a sweet second chance romance with some heat. The characters were well written and quite intriguing. A very well written story it is emotional, has some twists and definitely some heat. Jake and Olivia has some great chemistry and they were easy to like. A good story that I enjoyed and highly recommend.
This was perfectly written by Chloe Morgan and her characters were truly awesome!! The way she makes him really work to show he’s changed and is in it for the long haul is so much fun. Add to that the wannabe so called friend drama going on makes this a well written and much loved HEA!!
I received an arc for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book - the banter between Jake and Liv was so good. I also loved the fact that Jake would do anything Liv wanted to win her back. I highly recommend this book.
Liv and Jake were High School sweethearts, he left town after Prom and left her heart in pieces. It's a small town and everyone knows what has happened and what is happening in town. This is an easy read standalone Novella. They were just young kids at Prom and eventually everyone must grow up. I enjoyed reading this.
