Sure, he might be a little confused and a bit awkward, but his life isn’t bad. He has a steady job and a wonderful friend in his goldfish Frank. He just has a feeling it could be better if he could clear up a few things, like why the lingerie at Leashes & Lace is so interesting and why dating isn’t really working out.
Devin’s happy with his life.
His work at the LGBT youth center and his growing friendship with the guys at Leashes & Lace keep him busy and his life fulfilling. But when he bumps into a familiar face at a photoshoot, he starts to see what he’s been missing—awkward perfection. The calm, professional UPS driver who stops by the center is nothing like the nervous, uncoordinated man who can’t seem to admit how curious he is about the lingerie…and Devin can’t wait to find out what else the sweet man is longing for.
With Spencer’s fear standing in their way, it will take the love of well-meaning friends and a little timely misfortune to bring them together.
54k words Story Contains: M/m sexual content, BDSM elements, gender-fluid dressing, edging, spanking, and a very uncoordinated UPS man.
Shaw Montgomery loves reading, traveling, and family. While not necessarily in that order, they all rank pretty close. Shaw has lived all over the United States and even Germany. While the coast of North Carolina is a favorite place Shaw currently lives in the Western United States. Current wish list places to travel to are Australia, Italy, and Scotland.
When Shaw wants to write about things that are a little more taboo (or sometimes a lot more taboo), Shaw writes under the name M.A.Innes.
3.5 .. enjoyed this ❤️ sweet and extremely cute but it finished so suddenly which I felt disappointed in. A connection had just been formed and then there were excerpts for another book. I would have liked time with Spenser & Devin as a pair
Shaw Montgomery seems to have a particular talent for writing shy guys. Spencer is a clumsy cutie who has trouble talking to anyone except for his pet fish Frank.
Devin runs the local LGBT Center, and saves Spencer from Eli's wrath, and himself, when he finds the guy outside of Leashes & Lace with a UPS delivery package. Spencer isn't delivering the package, he's watching a photography shoot. When Devin confronts him, the boy almost trips over his own two feet, and Devin finds himself intrigued.
I enjoy the sweet and innocent trope with a dash of h/c. I'd read Spencer's book again.
4.5 /5
A cute story about a guy who just needs a soft Dom.
Omg...This is a brilliant addition to the Leashes and Lace series...It's an easy read and Spencer is just so adorable..Devin I think loves him from the start...They are just perfect together...Spencer is so shy but takes to Devin and submission beautifully..Really wanted more x
This one was the same sweet romance as the other four books, but it had more laughable situations than any of the others. If you have read any of the books before this one you have met Spencer, but not as a model...he was the clumsy, embarrassed, overly curious, UPS delivery guy. I loved Spencer's conversations with and asking advice from his "Best Friend". That might not seem unusual or funny in itself...but his best friend was Frank...oh, and Frank was a goldfish. Eli has always been frustrated with Spencer...but bratty Eli is frustrated with lots of things and makes no secret of it. When Eli learns that Devon...one of the friends of the Leashes and Lace group, is interested in Spencer, he tries to make friends and include him in their social gatherings, which doesn't turn out exactly as he wanted. Frank and Spencer end up having to stay in Devon's apartment while Spencer recovers from a head injury that occurred when he became nervous at a photoshoot when Eli asked if he's like to try on the lingerie...one of the ways that Eli was trying to be friends...and knocked himself out when he ran into the lights. All is well that ends well of course...but it was fun watching Devon and Spencer get there.
I've been looking forward to reading about the cute, clumsy UPS guy since we first met him!!
Spencer is so endearing...
"I was an idiot. An idiot that almost got killed because the scary man in the panties had started coming after me again. Maybe if I'd fallen down the stairs, it would've knocked some sense into me."
Devin works at the local LGBT youth centre. He has a soft spot the UPS guy who's name he still doesn't know.. He sees something in Spencer and his curiosity is piqued.
"Had he been hinting at something when he said he liked sweeter guys? But what did that mean? What made a guy sweet? Was quiet, awkward, and confused considered sweet?"
"I pushed away the idea that Devin might have been flirting with me. Helping me out so Eli didn't scream at me again didn't count as flirting."
I loved Spencer's goldfish Frank. A non judgemental friend that is good for Spencer.
"The ridiculousness of me talking to a goldfish about human pups didn't escape me, but I ignored it as I started reading through the post. If Frank was the best listener I knew and my closest friends were strangers on internet blogs, I wasn't going to worry about it. I liked my life. There was nothing wrong with being happy with my little box."
Spencer's adorableness is heart warming..
"I have a goldfish. It feels wrong to eat something that might be his cousin." Spencer's head fell back as he sighed. "I bought a frozen fish dinner a few months ago and couldn't eat it. He was watching me."
I loved how Devin was with Spencer as they began dating, especially after Spencer's injury.
Evidently, dicks worked even when brains didn't."
This was one of the sweetest, amazing books I've read. The love these two build shines right through the pages. Devin is so perfect for Spencer, giving him the opportunity and confidence to be comfortable in himself.
Wow this has not been a good month for me reading wise. This is like the 4th or 5th book I have DNF'd and it's been frustrating. Since I started reading MM in 2017, I think I my tastes have changed a great deal and I truly think that I have evolved beyond Shaw Montgomery's writing style. I don't want to say anything bad because she brought me reading joy in the past but her style has stayed the same as when I first started reading and I think I may just not be interested in it anymore.
I had no idea how much I needed a Spencer book. I saw the title for this one and then Wesley and thought great another filler character. But it was Eli's UPS guy and the sweetest character in the series. Roman's cousin gets his own guy, one that is the bigger than the usual, sweet and horribly clumsy. Love the must protect cinnamon rolls. The whole hospital drama made me feel sorry for Eli, but his pushing pretty much moved them in together. So sweet, the concussion not so much.

Another installment of one of my favourite series and characters. l just know l'm going to be laughing my head off and imagining all the sheer lingerie on the guys bodies ( fans self ).
The UPS guy has been delivering goods to the Leashes and Lace studios for a while now. All we knew was that he was cute, clumsy and curious. But this book gives us his story. Spencer is super shy, having grown up in care and not having many friends has made him very introverted. Knowing his sexual preferences might be frowned upon he keeps a very low profile, but boy is he hungry for more.
Enter Devin, who spends his days caring for young people in the LGBT group. He is friends with the L&L men so he also like hanging around the studio.
The cute and shy Spencer comes on his daily delivery round and tries to inconspicuously watch the photo shoot but ends up crashing around again. Devin takes one look at the gorgeous young man and sees right into his heart. The longing in those eyes and the anxiety at being found out call to Devin's own heart.
All Devin saw was awkward perfection . All he could think of was trying to get to know him more. But it was like trying to tame a wild animal, he had to be firm yet soft. His shy boy didn't know he needed structure and someone to take all his worries away.
Spencer and Devin's story is guaranteed to warm your soul. The vulnerability and kindness in Spencer will touch your heart for sure.
UPS guy Spencer is content with his life even though he is confused and a little awkward. But life is good as he has a steady job, Frank his goldfish but he knows he needs to sort out his feeling that the lingerie at Leashes and Lace is so interesting and why any dating he does never works out. Devin is happy with his life as he works at the LGBT youth centre and he has a growing friendship with the guys at Leashes and Lace who help with fundraising. The calm UPS guy who he sees at the centre is nothing like the nervous and uncoordinated man who can't seem to admit how curious he is about the lingerie so what is he longing for? With Spencer’s fear standing in their way, it will take the love of well-meaning friends and a little timely misfortune to bring them together.
I really enjoyed this story with the shy Spencer and Dom Devin and how they were brought together and became a couple. I loved their sensitivity as well as their strength which culminated in a really strong relationship between each other. The accident was very fortuitous and I loved the care that Devin took over Spencer which showed love and respect. Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM-like of a D/s nature and men who like wearing lacy panties.
To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
One million stars. I love Spencer so much. He is so sweet and good and lonely and anxious, and just wants to be happy and loved, and to belong. And then Devin comes along and my heart exploded.
If you have been following this series, Spencer is the nervous UPS guy that Eli has been terrorizing. Of course nothing is as simple as it would seem on the surface. Spencer grew up in foster care. He was gay and he was out to his foster families, but he learned by watching others that the kids who act “normal” and play sports and don’t draw attention to themselves have an easier time in the system. So he repressed who he really was to keep others happy, even though it wasn’t great for him. He was interested in the lingerie but at the same time was conflicted because he wasn’t comfortable being himself and admitting what he truly wanted. But he was the sweetest thing ever and then Devin swooped in like a fairy tale and I swooned. He was so stable and protective. Unfortunately, the setup for the fairy tale involved poor Spencer getting a head injury but he was ok in the end.
I love this series! I love stories with men in panties amongst other things. Spencer is such an adorable man. You just want him to have the courage to ask some questions to humans and not his goldfish Frank. He a delivery driver, is quiet, introspective, slightly clumsy when feeling overwhelmed.
Devin is a Dom who is busy with his job at the LGBT center, has good friends, likes lingerie on men. He see how Spencer reacts when at Leashes and Lace during a photo shoot when Spencer is delivering boxes for work. Intrigued by Spencer he starts asking question and see his flustered reactions. The chase is on to get his man!
4.5 stars. A great start to the book for these guys. I'd recommend reading this series in order to know all the characters in the book. Spencer was a person he needed to be bubble wrapped especially himself and things around him. Between flying forks, lacy knickers, cyclone Eli and Devin wanting him makes this a great book. Sexy scenes included. I loved the timid Spencer and Devin in this as they make a great couple. Devin was crushing on his UPS guy enough times he'd seen him but didn't know the quiet man's name yet. Spencer was sweet talker to Frank his goldfish but his curiosity at being at Leashes and Lace earlier intrigues him.
This was a sweet and sexy romance between two lovable characters. Spencer was sweet, clumsy, and lonely. His best friend was his goldfish Frank. That made me fall in love with him right away. Devin was a wonderful man who ran a youth center, and he quickly turned his caretaking talents toward Spencer. Spencer also brought out the dominant tendencies in Devin, and whoa! The results were smoking hot. Devin and Spencer were so sweet and sexy together, and I was so happy to revisit Eli and the other guys from Leashes & Lace. This was a great addition to that wonderful series.
This book was so good. Spencer won my heart instantly and Devin is perfect for him. Even though Spencer thinks his childhood was good it still left some marks hence his shy reserved demeanor. Yes their relationship moved very fast out it was perfect for them at just the right time. I'm so glad they felt they had more to do because I sure wasn't done with them. I highly recommend signing up for Shaw's newsletter. You don't want to miss out on the extra bits.
Spencer's clumsiness and awkwardness is adorable. He is painfully shy, but Devin can read him so well. They fit together perfectly.
Unfortunately I am back to disliking Eli. He just has no regard for other peoples feelings. He had just been told how shy Spencer was and to not make him uncomfortable, but he just completely disregarded the warning. That's not just Eli being quirky, it's him being a jerk. I don't understand why everyone likes him so much and just forgives everything he does. He is not a good friend.
This book was the perfect mixture of sweet and sexy. I’ve been wanting a story for Spencer since he was first introduced. My only complaint is that it left me wanting more. I was hoping that with Devin we’d be able to see more of the youth center. Also, I wish there’d been more interaction with the rest of the L&L men. All in all it was another great book by Shaw Montgomery.
Spencer is such a sweetheart, clumsy, embarrassed and kind. I loved reading about him and how he was navigating through life in his safe little box. And how that box got split right open when he got too curious for his own good. Curiosity didn't kill the cat it brought out a very kinky boy instead. He is at his best when his embarrassment filter malfunctions and he speaks his mind. If you like goldfish, a caring Dom and plenty of lingerie, this is the book to read.
Spencer was so good. It was incredibly sweet and sexy. I adore the Leashes and Lace crew and seeing them again was a great bonus. Devin was the epitome of a caring Dom. The way he gently and lovingly cared for Spencer made my heart happy. This is a story of two men who were destined to be together and fate united them in an incredibly heartfelt manner. If you love shy nervous guys and serious caring guys then pick this up because it's everything and more.
This one was almost demure compared to the others, less steamy and more sweet. If Montgomery was capable of writing a slow burn, this was it. However, I really loved Subspace Spencer, his experience with submission and power exchange was written beautifully. Hated Eli the first book and now I look forward to his cameos each time because he's the best! I don't know when that happened.
Devin (Roman's cousin), a counsellor at an LGBT+ youth centre, is intrigued by the UPS guy (aka Spencer) who delivers the lingerie to Leashes & Lace. Spencer loves the thought of the lingerie, but is scared of Eli. An accident happens & Spencer is taken home by Devin who takes care of him - so opening up Spencer's need for the peaceful quiet Devin is able to provide for him. Both of them are a little more 'hard core' than others from L & L, but it's still a lovely relationship.
So excited that Shaw Montgomery gave us the story of the UPS guy who was cute and always checking out things at Leashes and Lace. Loved being back in the l&l world and seeing cute accident prone Spencer find everything he needed and love with Devin. Love the power exchange.
I absolutely LOVED this marvelous, sweet, charming, grab-you-by-the-feels, engaging, adorable, slightly kinky, totally awesome, and delightfully delicious story. I fell in love with Spencer from the very first page, and Devin was the perfect ying to his yang. I would DEFINITELY recommend getting this gem ASAP!
I have read every book under Shaw Montgomery and I think this one might be my favorite. Spencer was such an adorable character how could you not love him and his shy and embarrassed personality I was so hooked. I also loved the development of the characters over the time. Shaw Montgomery is a great author and I'll be wait for all their future release.
I have been waiting for the UPS Guy story since his first appearance in the series and was hoping Devin would also get a story, but putting them together definitely came from the brilliant writing mind of Shaw Montgomery. The hospital scene was reminiscent of a certain drunken Casey scene. Highly recommend this book to anyone looking to laugh and enjoy a HEA.
Spencer’s not known love and care, being in foster care, meant moving from house to house and family to family. Delivering to Leashes and Lace is always a temptation and on one visit he meets Devin, mishaps always follow Spencer around, but this time they enable him to get to know Devin and to get his own HEA
This book had the least plot compared to the others and focused more on building a relationship/trust between these two men.
Spencer and Devin’s relationship was instant-love, where even though they’ve met, they’ve never really looked at each other. While i love Spencer and his clumsy flight-only-flight response, I didn’t feel the instant-love they had. This book was a bit dragging for me.

Sweet Spencer, delivery driver to Leashes and Lace, very curious. Has suppressed this side of himself. Devin notices him peeking at a photo shoot. He is immediately attracted to the shy boy. He asks him out. Follow their romance as they discover each other. Loved it. Spencer is adorable.
Finally, we get to meet the USP delivery guy!!! Poor guy spooks so dang easily due to his shyness it's adorable. It was nice seeing Roman's cousin get his story finally. I just love all of the side characters. Eli is still "causing trouble", 😆. I love how everyone threatens him with Roman. They all crack me up.
