In the last five months I have read the whole steel brothers series. I didn't think I would enjoy the story of Brad and Daphne as much as the Steel children but I was pleasantly surprised. The story of young love and young marriage/pregnancy and how far you would go to protect your family is the whole basis of this book. There are so many twists and turns, some I saw coming and others, not. I like that through reading the Brad and Daphne story it brings points out from all the other books previously written. From the very beginning of the book you are hooked. From the pregnancy to telling the parents and the wedding, you are engaged the whole way. There always seems to be something happening. The beginning of their "ever after" should be an exciting and happy time but instead Brad has to suddenly leave his playboy lifestyle and college and was thrust right into a life of threats, danger and a strong need to protect his young family from threat of harm. From the beginning of the series I have not wanted to put the books down. This is by far my favorite series I have read! Thank you Helen for such an amazing series to read. Reading these books makes you feel so emotionally involved in their stories and lives that they almost seem real. I can't wait for the next book in this amazing series to answer more lingering questions I have!

Wow - just when you think you know where the story is going to go you get blindsided. This book has it all: lies, deception, corruption, bribery, mental institutions, pregnancy, hatred, love, devotion and understanding....all wrapped up in a book that once you start you will not be able to put it down. The reader wants to know what happened to start the saga and with book 14 I feel the reader is left with even more questions than answers. An addictive series that will be an instant favorite.

OY, this one had me on edge the whole time I was reading. Between the secrets and twists and lies and and and … I mean it’s so much LOL But in such a good way! You honestly can’t predict much. You can try lol but, no. I feel so lucky that I know nothing of the future (okay, maybe some lol) now that I’m in the thick of this trilogy. I said this in my review of Fated, but I’ll mention it again. If you haven’t picked up this family saga don’t feel overwhelmed by the number of books because they are written in sets of three :) If you look at them as mini trilogies it isn’t too daunting!

Back to Legacy! I can’t even express how well thought out this entire series is. Legacy is going to leave you with more questions than answers for sure, but it is quite exhilarating. I can’t wait to get my hands on Descent!

Everytime I read a book In the Steel Brothers series I think there is no way in the world Helen could 1. impress me more than she has already 2. I couldn't possible fall in love with this series more than I already do. and 3. there in no way in the world she could possible leave me hanging on the edge of my seat than she has on the previous 13 books but holy cow she provided me wrong on all 3 yet again! This is part 2 of Brad and Daphne's story. In the first 13 books you always feel sympathy and sorrow for her. All we know initially is some really bad had happened to her but we didn't exactly know what. As their story goes on we do find out what actually did happen to Daphne and you can help but cry for her. Your heart will break. Initially the first 12 books really do make you hate Brad steel's guts but honestly in theses 2 books you see who he was really before things hit the fan. You that they really do love each other and truthfully you will see that he would do absolutely anything for h Daphne and their kids. You see they both trying to do the right things and you do get to met both sets of their parents. I loved this book, I do think even though this is technically a prequel you really need to read the first 12 books to better understand parts of theses 2 books. This series as a whole is a must read and this book is amazing. What Daphne went through is horrible and honestly I can not blame her for breaking like she finally did.

This is the 14th book in the Steel Brothers Saga and continues the story of Daphne and Brad’s relationship. Some secrets are revealed and others are kept buried to protect the ones we love. The story has many twists and when you think you’ve figured them out, another curveball comes at you. The whole saga has been amazing thus far and I can’t wait to read book 15 “Descent” when it comes out later this year. Many thanks to Bare Naked Words for the advanced readers copy.

Oh... My heart, my mind, my anxiety. Jesus... This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions that I did not expect... But I should have, this is classic Helen Hardt, in all her glory and I loved it! Some things I could see coming, others I DID NOT. This book is packed with a punch, and it had my anxiety on high, the deeper I got into this, the deeper I fell into this book of lies and secrets.

As always, Ms. Hardt delivers an outstanding, all-consuming, and addictive installment into the Steel Brothers saga that grabbed me by the heartstrings and pulled on them hard.

After finishing Fate, and getting to know Daphne and Bradford more and getting an in-depth look into how the Steel Brothers came about, and the what started it all, I was eager to continue. So once I got my hands on Legacy, I devoured it within one sitting.

In Legacy, after Daphne and Bradford tell both sets of parents about the pregnancy and the engagement, a wedding date was made, but not everything with this wedding goes to plan, and things start to unravel. Things go wrong at the wedding and Bradford and his father George are on a mission to figure out who is responsible for it, but it's never that easy to figure out, and as I fell deeper into this plot, things continue to worsen for the Steel family. Daphne now a Steel and having the first son, Jonah, should be happy, should be living blissfully with the man she loves and a beautiful son, but that is not the case and it's only a matter of days after his birth that things get worse and even more intense and as things continue to fall apart, more secrets are kept and more lies come about. With everything that's going on around her, it's taking Daphne back to her past, and bringing back nightmares that she thought she could keep away. Bradford is doing everything in his power to protect his family. I mean, the man will go to great length to protect them...But he's not there with her a lot of the time, he's taken the responsibilities of his fathers, and that's just making it harder to keep the darkness away from Daphne, she tries to fight it but it begins to close in on her. But, as we know what unfolds in their future, shows that Bradford couldn't protect them from everything/everyone, even protect them, from themselves.

As always, I'm sitting here completely bent out of shape and questioning everything I thought I knew about this family. So much happened within these pages. So many lies, so many secrets, so many twists and turns that I didn't see coming. It completely consumed me from page one. I'm completely obsessed with Bradford and Daphne and knowing more and piecing things together as their story unfolds. I need Descent... I need book 15 now! I need to know more! This author continues to throw me off course at every damn turn. I was left speechless after I finished this, it took me a couple of days to gather my thoughts and my heart and settle my anxiety so I could write a review.

Fate blew my mind, but their first book was only preparing me for what was to come in Legacy... And I still wasn't prepared for what I got and that is exactly why I continue to come back for more!

A twisted and emotional rollercoaster, indeed, and I loved every word of it!

Much deserved 5 STARS!

I'm a devoted fan of the Steel Brothers books. This family is all consuming and addicting. Brad has always been the one character I totally put on a pedestal and thought even though he did lie and cheat and deceive in the name of love and family, could do no wrong. I have to say now, seeing the way he builds his Legacy, I have found my pain point. I have never loved and hated a main character so much! I was really sad to see his character as a man be diminished to lies and an consuming obsession to protect. Not only does he lie repeatedly to Daphne to seemingly protect her, he doesn't give her the time a day anymore or his 5 day old baby. Not once in this book did he hold Jonah or kiss him and tell him he loves him. I know this is because he's trying to his fullest to protect them and get ahead of whatever and whomever is coming for them, but it was still sad. Daphne is a warrior in my eyes, forced to grow up so fast and become a devoted wife and a strong mother. She is not the fragile girl she once was and even tho she still doesn't even know the truth of her own past, she has overcome many different obstacles. Her number on priority is Jonah and Brad and she will stop at nothing to be the best for both of them. Daphne has the love of her life, a promising future, and already and family of her own, how can it all be crumbling already like a house of cards? This has to be an incredible challenge and one that could easily pull someone under. As always I applaud Helen for her unstoppable twists and the way she keeps you hooked. There will always be the aspects of her writing that keeps you coming back for more no matter what. Even though I see Red right now for Brad Steel, I can't wait for more. So many questions still that need answers, will we get them? Decent has alot of live up to, I have no doubt Helen will deliver, I just hope my heart services it!

October 2020 is an agonising 3 months away. How will I cope without my injection of The Steel Saga. I wished that Brad was in a different place abod

October 2020 seems a lifetime away before book 15 appears. This book left me feeling very sad about the place where Brad was. Nearly every action he took was for the safety of his family. From the time he was 22, the love he had for his wife was constant except for the one action that cost him very dearly which he could never escape from.

Legacy by Helen Hardt is book 14 in the Steel Brothers Saga Series. This continues the story of Brad Steel and Daphne Wade. This series is all tide together so it best to have read them all which I am backtracking to do but at the very least you need to have read the previous book 'Fate' that start the retelling of their lives. If you have been reading the previous books then you know them and have given hits of their story but these this book and the previous book is giving us the more fuller picture. I have really enjoyed the series and this author's writing. Ms. Hardt has a way that lets you into her stories like you are their yourself. Loved this and can't wait for the next installment in their series!.

Emotional roller coaster!!!

This addition to the Steel Brothers Saga was amazingly structured with drama, heartache, passion, and happiness all in one story! Going further into how Brad and Daphne’s history come together, learning more about the Future Lawmakers, while becoming aware of Daphne’s mental illness has overwhelmingly made another masterpiece! Not able to get too in depth without including spoilers, but I do suggest grabbing a few boxes of tissues and prepare yourself for the roller coaster of feelings ahead! And of course, be prepared for yet another cliffhanger that will leave you yearning for the next establishment. Bring on October!!

This book was so very good but it is so very sad as you know it is the descent of Bradford Steel. It is so interesting to see into the lives of Daphne and Brad. To see her battle her demons and him also. I have read every Steel Brothers book and will anxiously although with trepidation wait for book #15.
Well Done Ms. Hardt!

Helen Hardt is a favorite author of mine and the Steel Brothers Saga holds a special place in my heart. I adore each book in this series and feel as though I am part of the family with each flip of the page. This book takes you back to the beginning with Brad Steel and Daphne Wade. The two that orchestrated the entire series, from the Steel family secrets and the ghosts in the closet. An emotional book with emotional feelings and characters. Take a trip to the Steel Acres Ranch and meet the handsome man that starts it all.

Wow. Just wow. The Steel Brothers is one of my all time favorite series. Getting Brad and Daphne’s story? Priceless. Brad would do anything for his family. Anything. Daphne is much more complex than even he knows. The nightmares and the secrets that she can’t remember? Will they rip her apart? Rip them apart? Legacy will grab a hold of you and won’t let go. I absolutely devoured this book. It left an indelible mark on my heart, on my soul and I can’t wait for Descent.

Wow! Just Wow! So many twists and turns in Brad and Daphnes story. Daphne’s past comes out. Brad knows her back story. So far she still can’t remember events. That’s not the only thing in this story that will have you turning the pages. Twists, turns, tragedies. Legacy isn’t just a story of Brad and Daphne Steel’s love but how they managed to keep it together when some outside force is trying to destroy them. This isn’t a fairy tale story. You will have a hard time putting their story down. Thank you again Helen Hardt for telling their story.

Wow multiply personalities😮😲😵????!!!!!

I did not see that coming. Daphne, had multiples?😲😮?!!! There's so many secrets surrounding this story. Like who killed Sean Murphy, and Patty?! Or who raped and beaten Daphne, and her best friend Sage?! Well I guess I already know the answer to those questions. And the culprits are all dead now. But will we find out for sure in the next saga Descent? Poor Bradford Steel took on so much responsibilities at such a young age. No matter how hard he tried Wendy, Tom, Theo, and Larry, were always a step ahead of him with their psycho, and sociopathic, sick behavior. George Steel is still alive! Is he still alive now in present time?! Or is he faking it? What's up with Daphne's father Jonathan Wade? What's his story? Will we ever find out? So many secrets to uncover. What's the real reason why Daphne's mother Lucy tried to commit suicide?! Will Brad ever find out who threw the rock through the window that nearly hit his infant son Jonah? So many loose ends. Cannot wait to read the next book.

Each installment in this series is always something I look forward to. We are now 14 books into this series, and really enjoying learning more about the Steel parents. I feel like this particular volume was eye opening in a way that I never thought possible. We learn a lot more about Brad's father, which leads us to learn more about why Brad makes certain decisions. We also learn more about the mental health of Daphne, and the truth behind her junior year.

This series is full of triggers, such as sexual assault, PTSD, pedophilia, and more. Please tread lightly with this series, as it can be very triggering to some readers.

Book 14 in the series, the story continues and man does it continue with a bang! The author really draws you in and makes the pages turn. Giving us so much more in the world she’s created the author leaves us wanting ever so much more. Well written and the story of Bradford and Daphne is so compelling that when the book ends you just can’t wait for the next book to be released.
