Siren of the Seas has finally arrived in Southampton and love is in the air for one of the crewmembers as he arranges a rendezvous with his online girlfriend.
Despite Millie’s concern over their date, he refuses to listen to her. Deciding it won’t hurt to check on him; Millie shows up during the date and witnesses something disturbing.
Determined to help her friend and share what she knows, it backfires and she is reprimanded and told to butt out.
Vowing to mind her own business, Millie steers clear of her friend… until he goes missing. She suspects foul play, but can she prove it before it’s too late?
Join Millie and the gang as they solve new mysteries, make new friends and embark on new adventures in the British Isles!
Southampton Stalker by Hope Callaghan was such a fun and clean cozy mystery to read in an afternoon. The mystery is engaging and as usual Millie jumps in when a friend seems to be diving into trouble. There is more than one mystery to solve but only one gets resolved in this book. I'm off to the next to read more about the unsolved mystery.
Millie and the gang are on the way to their new port in Southampton, on the coast of England. Andy, the Cruise Director, is excited to share his newest announcement with the entertainment staff. With the current director of shore excursions leaving, an existing crew member, Isla, will take her place. Arriving ahead of schedule will give the cruise employees some free time away from the ship was a welcomed surprise for all. Millie, knowing that the new director of shore excursions wasn’t the only “surprise” Andy had in mind, asked him directly once all the entertainment staff had left. With Isla in the new position, Andy hoped to help her out by hiring an old friend from the British Isles, Sophia. From the fist introduction, Millie took an instant dislike to the new employee! With their time ashore, Millie and her friends set out to explore the town, and unfortunately, put themselves in a dangerous situation on the first day. When one of the crew members goes missing after meeting with a date, he set up online, Millie steps up her sleuthing skills to locate him! As a series I enjoy, I’m always curious as to which ports of call the Siren of The Seas will be stopping at. The plot is well-written with a great cast of characters that take their friendship seriously. The story entertaining with subplots that add dimension and a glimpse into the lives of various crewmembers. With the introduction of a new member, one that Millie dislikes, I am interested to see how this will affect the Siren of The Seas family, and look forward to the next book in the series. I received this copy as a gift and the opinions are my own.
Southampton Stalker is the seventeenth book in Hope Callaghan’s awesome Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries Series. The storyline is well plotted, with an interesting mystery, affable characters, and lots of activity, humor, and compassion. The book flows at a steady pace, with a lot of things happening to keep the reader engaged. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-crafted cozy mystery.
The staff and crew of Siren of the Sea are preparing for their first twelve-day cruise in the British Isles, with Southampton being their first port. Millie Sanders Armati, the assistant cruise director, has her hands full with her work-related assignments, but she still finds time to offer support, even when unwanted, to her friends. Andy Walker, Millie’s boss, has some surprises planned for her and the entertainment staff, one of his surprises is Sophia Williams, a friend with expertise in the British Isles, who he hired for the summer season. While exploring the port, Millie, Danielle, and Cat encounter a homeless man who warns them to be careful because the area isn’t safe. After one of the crewmembers, Nikki Tan, is attacked in the same area, everyone is on edge. Millie worries about Sharky, the ship’s head of maintenance, as he prepares and goes on a blind date with Svetlana, a Russian woman he met online.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Big adventures await at the new port town of Southampton, England. The cruise ship finally arrived to its new berth with a few days to spare before beginning the new schedule is 12 day cruises from this location. What can happen in a few days?
With Millie, anything can and does happen. The new employee for the summer, Sophia, is hired as the expert for the various ports of call...but there's something about that smells worse than 3 day old fish! And it's obvious from day one that she doesn't like Millie! Danielle and Brody are still not speaking to each other. What was an easy misunderstanding is growing larger but neither wants to make the first move. Annette is keeping a secret about her health and Millie is afraid her best friend is facing this health crisis alone. More than anything looming over this cruise is the upcoming date for Snarky to finally meet his true love, Svetlana, after all these months of computer conversations. Would he go through with it? Something just felt off to Millie where this relationship is concerned, but Snarky won't let anything, including Millie's warnings, stop him from from meeting what he feels is his love destiny! Who will help him once he realizes not everything someone tells you in an email is the truth????
This book was exciting from start to finish. I can not wait to read more adventures on the high seas with new ports of call in the upcoming books in this series! ❤
Millie (assistant cruise director), her husband Niccolo Armati (the Ships Captain), Annette (director of food and beverage), Cat (in charge of the gift shop), Donovan (the purser), Andy (cruise director), Dave (head of security), and Sharky (head of ship maintenance) are a wonderful part of the crew of Siren of the Seas.
Siren of the Seas was making a trans-Atlantic repositioning cruise from Florida to Southampton, England. The British Isles were to be on the summer schedule, and the staff and crew were looking forward to this change. Upon arrival in Southampton, Millie and a few friends were able to visit some shops in the port area. After making a quick stop and picture taking of an English "phone" they headed back to the ship. Enroute, they were stopped by an older homeless man asking for a little money. Their friend Nikki was on her own and encountered two people who wanted to do her harm. Millie decided to tell Sharky to be extra careful when he went to meet his computer friend Svetlana .
The adventures continue for this interesting crew, and you will feel just like you are there! Enjoy your cruise. I am sure you will be thanking Hope Callaghan for the trip. I will be anxiously awaiting their next adventure!
Their ship completes their first trans Atlantic run and docks in Southhampton for two days before beginning their British Isles cruise run. The port area is awfully rough compared to that of Miami, and first Nikki is mugged, then a homeless man.
Milli has bad feelings about the Russian girl Sharkie is meeting up with and stakes out the pub where he will meet her for the first time. While Sharkie is in the washroom, Millie sees Svetlana switch drinks. They tell Sharkie but he doesn't believe them and chases after the "girl" (whom they suspect might actually be a man).
When Sharkie doesn't return to the ship for the night, Millie alerts the head of security and others, but they tell her Sharkie is a grown man. Of course Millie is correct, as always, and when a ransom note arrives she searches until she finds him and saves the day once more.
When the Siren of the Seas makes the transatlantic crossing for the summer season, Millie is looking to explore places she has never been before. The maintenance boss, Sharky, has plans to connect with the hot babe he met in one and Millie gets a bad feeling about it so she follows "to make sure he is alright" and sees sign of danger. When she and Annette tried to tell him he got angry and reported them.. Millie knows she should let the professionals investigate when Snarky finds himself in a world of trouble but..........Millie knew Svetlana is not who Snarky thought she was. Did Snarky quit the job he loves for Svetlana? Read and find out!!!!!!!
Millie and the gang arrived to their new location in Southampton. Ready for the new cruise itinerary through the British Isles. Sharky is meeting his online "love" Svetlana, but Millie has an uneasy feeling about it! Millie and Annette decide to check on him and see Svetlana spike his drink so they confront them and ruin their date. Sharky is so mad he files a complaint with Patterson, head of security for the Siren of the Seas!I Later they discover Sharky did not return to the ship! Patterson thinks he left his job but Millie thinks something is amiss! As usual Hope creates an interesting story that can be a read alone or enjoyed as a continuous series.I I would highly recommend any of Hope 's series to anyone that enjoys good clean mysteries
Millie is the ship's captain's wife as well as assistant cruise director. She is also a good friend, and when a crew member goes missing, she is determined to find him. The ship's security director gets a ransom note for the crew member, and Millie decides to search for her friend. With the ship's impending departure, Millie is determined to find her friend and is led to the kidnappers. She enlists the help of the ship's security director to flush out the kidnappers and saves her friend. I was glad to see Millie solve another mystery. This book showed the importance of friendship as well as honesty, since her friend's lies were what led to his kidnapping.
Hope Callaghan not only writes another delightful who dun it mystery, this time on an international level; but addresses contemporary issues of internet dating, international travel, espionage, reasons why folks love cruises and Fitbit. A traveler's warning to heed - You shouldn't be wandering around after dark in an area you're not familiar with. This mystery engages the reader with head shaking moments and laughter at Millie's interaction with her boss, captain husband, friends, coworkers, and passengers. Do folks go on cruises for the entertainment or for the last minute giveaways? An excellent arm chair read - sailing the Atlantic Ocean minus seasickness.
I have read all of Hope Callaghan's cozy mysteries and I was so excited when another one in the Cruise Ship Mystery series was released. This time, Sharkey has a new love but Millie doesn't feel quite right about her and tries to warn Sharkey. Unfortunately, he is stubborn and tells Millie to mind her own business. Well....he should have listened to her as he certainly runs into a bit of trouble. A new employee is introduced in this book (Sophia) and I'm not liking her much....lol It will be interesting to see if she is in the next book and what Andy/Andrew decides to do with her. I loved this book and highly recommend this series as well as all of Hope Callaghan's books.
Millie and the Siren of the Seas Cruise Ship have just finished a transatlantic crossing and ore docked in Southampton. The crew are all excited about their summer schedule cruising the Channel Islands. Millie’s friend Sharky is especially excited to be meeting a online date named Shetland, whom he is sure is his soul mate! Southampton is more of an industrial port, with some abandoned warehouses in an unsafe area, and when crew members start getting beaten and robbed, and then Starky disappears, Millie is compelled to investigate again (with the help of her friends, of course!). Another entertaining cruise ship mystery!
You know you need to find your friend before is to late.
I love how Millie gets gut feeling about something and won't give until she figured out the puzzle with her friends and solves it. If you like who done its you will love this book it will make you laugh make your heart race to find what happens next can't wait to read the next book of Millie and her friends. Thank you Hope .
This book was one of my favorites, or course I say that about every book I read from Hope. I think this is my favorite series indeed I can relate to Millie as I feel the same age. This story in particular was a little different as a lot of the story line was off the whole as well as on it, it did seem like his just kind of popped in and out in ready for a Millie and His story. Once again a great book Hope
I have basically read this entire series (17 books so far, I think)...they are fun and fluffy and clean. I love the Christian aspect, I love the CRUISING aspect, and the characters are pretty likable... (though admittedly, I sometimes roll my eyes at Millie getting involved once more in something or someplace she has no business being---but since that is the premise of the entire series...there you have it!) Enjoyable "summer" read, all year round.
I have all books in this series, love the characters, except the newest addition, Sophia. No real story line ending about her in this book. I got #18 on deck to read, maybe she will be thrown off the ship in that one! Not liking Sophia at all. This book seemed shorter than rest so far. But I enjoy them very much. Fun, easy to read, just enough light suspense and matchmaking with a bit of danger added in to be fun
Hope Callaghan 's heroine and amateur sleuth Millie Sanders Armani is back again. This time she's on board the "Siren of the Seas" as it's docked in Southampton England ready to cruise the British Isles. This time she is involved in finding a missing crew member Sharky Kiveski and solving a series of attacks at the ship's dockside port. Always a delightful fast-paced read.
Non-stop suspense that remains clean and mysterious! Millie is a loyal and ferocious friend. She continues to be guided by her intuition and faith, especially when it comes to those she cares about. I enjoy how Nic supports and cares for her. I'm starting to want a Scout of my own. The introduction of new crew member has me wondering what new happenings are sailing our way. Doesn't matter because I'm all in and ready for another cruising voyage adventure!
I love Millie and her gang of friends. This time a new women is hired to work along side Millie and she is nothing but trouble. Then Sharky goes on a blind date and never comes back. All this while in a brand new port of call. Can Millie befriend the new girl and find Sharky?
This was a good read! The introduction of Sophia was very interesting and left me wanting to hear more about her. I am hoping her antics will blow up in her face in a future read! Sharky's story was a good twist on an old character! I love the cruise ship mysteries and always search for the next book!
Hope is one of my favorite authors. The Cruise Ship Cozy Mysteries has been one of my favorite series, and Southampton Stalker: A Cruise Ship Mystery did not fail to keep the pages turning. Millie is one of my favorite characters. If you have never read any of Hope Callaghan's books grab this book or any of her others mysteries, and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
With a little help from her friends, Millie strikes out on another mystery adventure. This time, it's the case of a missing co-workers. Though Millie is the main character, I enjoy how her friends get to be part of her adventures. Most importantly, I like that her relationship with God is not on the back burner!
Millie and the crew cross the Atlantic to the U.K. Sharky is to meet a Russian woman in Southampton, someone he met on the Internet. Millie is sure there is something hinky about the woman and won't give up when Sharky disappears. These are great stories set on a cruise ship. Anyone who has cruised will feel right at home.
I so live this series. Millie just can’t help herself to stay out of sleuthing, but golly she makes me nervous. Have to keep turning the pages to make sure she’s okay! Not crazy about the new Sophia. I just want to smack her but Millie being the kind sweet lady that she is puts up with a lot. Can’t wait for the next book! Hope just can’t write these fast enough!
Being a cruise person I enjoy reading about the inner workings of the ships crew and the 12 hr shifts they do. And hard they work to make the passengers their number one priority . The book deals with international crooks, kidnapping, new ship crew member, and the trouble Millie and friends get into. Waiting for the next adventure for Millie and friends
Sharky has met a woman on a website, he's in love. Millie goes to where Sharky is meeting his new love. Millie sees woman switch her and Sharky's drinks. Sharky accuses Millie of stalking him and reports her to Donovan. Millie has her job cut out for her. Good story.
Millie and the ship arrive in Southampton after the transatlantic sailing. She worries about sharkeys plan to meet a women he met on line and tries to look out for him. Then he goes missing and she goes full out to try and find him along with help from her group. A fun fast read looking forward to reading the next book
Millie's friend is in trouble, No one believes it but Millie won't back down. A new employee who is a friend of Andy is being nasty and Andy won't believe it. I was hoping she was going to be written out but she wasn't. Hoping in book 18 she will be.
Millie and her crew pals encounter a romance or two and a crew member disappearance. As Millie tries to work out all the details she encounters, from her pal Sharkey's romance to a new crew member and friend of her boss Andy. The reader is taken along and learns more about the cruise ship crew too
Love this series and this one had my heart pounding. Millie finds herself involved in another mystery after Sharkey gets himself into trouble. Will she solve it before the Siren takes off on it's next voyage? These are such fun mystery stories and are so enjoyable to read. I love Millie's character.
