Arantxa’s thought her best friend was crazy to even think about applying to an alien matchmaking agency to find a husband. Samantha thinks it’s a great opportunity for them to escape their mundane lives and get husbands. She will even pay Arantxa fee. She finally gets Arantxa to agree with plans for them to only look for mates on the same planet.
When Samantha finds her mate first, Arantxa convinces her she should go ahead and meet him. With Samantha gone, Arantxa decides to take a chance on a man named Biurk from the same planet. Things start to go haywire from there.
Instead of letting her use the agency transport, he convinces her to let him send a ship for her. Arantxa has her suspicions that things aren’t quite right but she tamps down her doubts.
The ship is seized by pirates who kidnap her to sell as a sex slave. But before they arrange to sell her they take her back to their planet and amuse themselves by torturing her and the ships crew.
So Biurk hires a mercenary to rescue. Arantxa. She feels an unexpected attraction to Korben who is sent to rescue her. A wrong turn and a missing communicator leave them lost in the forest alone together.
Feeling dutybound to give Biurk a chance to court her, Arantxa fights the growing attraction to Korben. Only vaguely humanoid compared to Biurk, Arantxa doesn’t understand this illogical fascination with this alien who no one would mistake for human.
I'm shocked this book is rated so highly. This book appeared to be exactly what I would enjoy: sci-fi, damsel in distress, alien hero that doesn't look human - speaking of which, the man on the cover of the book looks nothing like the alien hero is described...
I DNFed at 2hrs 20mins into the audiobook. The writing is very amateur, and trust me, I am not the best writer either so I'm usually not nitpicky. I think if the author actually listened to the audiobook version of her work she'd hear how awkward some of the sentences are written. She'll state something and then repeat it in a slightly different way. I might listen to more of the audiobook just to give examples so you know how brain-meltingly redundant the writing is.
I haven't even started in on how dumb the heroine is! First of all, her name looks and sounds more alien to me than the alien hero's (Korben). Almost right from the start, the heroine is acting TSTL as she gets a bad feeling about the men sent by her intended husband to pick her up, and yet she flies off with them anyway as if she's never heard of sex trafficking!
Yada yada, she gets kidnapped by a different group of aliens, pirates that steal the cargo transported on her intended husband's ship, which includes her. They are genderless and don't procreate by having sex, they're basically Phoenixes that rise from ashes when they die (except they're not quite as magnificent looking - think tentacles and hideousness) They don't intend to rape her (or "ravish" her, as the TSTL heroine says!) Although the word can mean taken by force, I always see it as overwhelmed with sexual bliss.
The heroine is beaten black and blue and almost frozen half to death, gets "recused" by the hero finally and as they're running around trying to evade recapture, she's getting all aroused and hot and bothered when he carries her. She also washes herself almost obsessively - I get it, she was dirty for ~10 days so she's probably sick of feeling filthy, but still.
This is basically where I stopped. It's too silly and the book is too long to put up with several more hours of this crap.
Arantx has decided to join a dating agency because of her best friend. She also decided that she wanted to find a male alien of the same species and on the same planet as her friend's mate. Things go wrong when her choice in males wants to pick her up with one of his ships and not let her come to him on an agency's ship. That ship is attacked before she gets to meet him. Korben and his crew get hired to rescue her. He knows her intended male and he knows that he is bad news. Will Korben allow her to go to this male or keep her for himself? The story was entertaining but it definitely needs a good editor. There were quite a few typos, misspoken sentences and even a place where there is a half a sentence followed by several odd letters then half of another sentence.
THIS WAS A GREAT QUICKIE READ. IT LACKED INTENSITY, BUT IT DOES THE TRICK WHEN YOU'RE RUSHING FOR TIME. THOUGH, IT DIDN'T HAVE A WEALTH OF DEPTH.
HERO was hired to save the heroine but he felt a pull of intense attraction to her. They eventually succumb to their baser desires and then comes the problem if Arantxa still wants to wed the male she first left home for. In a nutshell, the hero portrayed alpha tendencies and despite the lack of plot, the story did still gave me a hint of emotions given that there were plenty of cliche moments. Arantxa herself wasn't a character that leaped out of the pages, she was pretty much ornamental to drive the story.
OVERALL it was okay, but nothing you'd honestly remember in comparison to your favorite paranormal or sci fi romance story.
This was an awesome read that I enjoyed reading. There's plenty of action, drama, danger, adventure, kidnapping, heat, chemistry and a hot and steamy romance. I love the characters and the story pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading. The plot is well written and the character's have a hot steamy interactions that will keep you reading well into night, a definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!

The ship was ambushed and she was kidnapped and beaten and the aliens were going to sell her but her fiancé hired Korben and his crew to rescue her. They rescued her. But things got out of whack and korben and arantxa got stranded on the planet. Unwanted but needed and desired mating happened and then...... exciting read!

Aranxta wanted a good life, so she signed up to become a mail order bride. Strangely her match sent his own ship to pick her up. On the way, they were attacked by pirates. The one who rescued her was not her match, but someone else, he made her feel..... Then they crashed on a planet and only had each to rely on. What will happen now.....

An alien mercenary sent to retrieve an abducted mail order bride finds more than he was contracted for. He falls hopelessly in love with his little human but fights it all the way. Only when her life is threatened once more does he come to his senses and admits his love to her and himself. I enjoyed the book, the characters and the world building. I hope more of the crew find human mates as well.
An interesting plot with some action, intrigue, romance, drama, twists and turns. The author has done a good job world and character building. I liked the characters and thought they seemed relatable. If you enjoy the alien/human romance genre then give this book a read.
