When a spaceship that has been traveling for generations reaches its destination, its occupants must learn to live in the strange environment of an unknown planet.
Quite possibly one of the few SF I remember clearly because it was so bad. The writing just was awkward at best, and the plot really did not make sense. Despite the rather neat concept behind the story, I couldn't really buy it for many reasons.
The basic premise is that a group of humans have been on a generation starship. They've been on the ship so long that much of their early history and knowledge of where they come from has been lost. The residents of the this starship have never known life outside of it, so when they land on a planet surface after so many generations, everything outside the ship is strange and new. They are both fearful and anxious to meet the beings who live on this planet . . .
