This was a cute little book. I wish there was alittle more to it but it still wasnt bad. If you're looking for a quick sweet read to pass time then this is a good choice. To me the blurb didnt really match the book but that wasnt a deal breaker. Rick was not so much a bad boy as he was just a guy who let peer pressure put him in bad situations.
This is a great read with an awesome storyline that has well developed and engaging characters that have lots of chemistry. The smooth flow of the storyline makes for a good reading time.

The old adage that oil and vinegar don’t mix is not always true—add some spices and shake, and a delicious new mixture is created. Madison Wright’s sweet and engaging romance is proof of the same theory of opposites mixing when shaken and forming something wonderful.
Amber Hyde is determined to be rise from the ashes of her childhood. The child of dysfunctional parents—a father who disappeared early on and a drug addicted mother who bounced from relationship to relationship--leaving Amber to find her own pathway. And Amber found her way. She was smart; she studied hard, and she worked three—maybe four times--harder than anyone else. That work ethic got her into Athens University and it serves her well as she holds down campus jobs at the bookstore, the cafeteria and in the residence halls to receive discounts on books, food and housing and earn a minimum wage that helps cover tuition and incidentals. She is a non-stop ball of energy focused on graduating with a degree in business with a focus on finance. She is determined to rise above her upbringing if she doesn’t crash in exhaustion first.
Rick Lauder is the gifted son of loving parents. Intelligent, he could master any academic area, but his passion and focus are on football. He easily stays academically eligible, and is dedicated to working out, training his body to its peak performance. And, just like he brings it all to the field, he brings it all to the party scene on campus, which has run him afoul of the local police and university administration when he decides to throw a 21st birthday keg party for Chelsea Warner, his latest arm fluff, and unfortunately for Rick, the daughter of one of the officers called to break up the unruly bash.
With the possibility of losing the school’s star football player, the dean determines that what Rick needs is a minder—someone whom he can’t charm or corrupt—to manage his actions in and out of the dorm, in the classrooms and at workouts—generally babysit him during all waking hours, and as a roommate, to have proximity to also manage possible comings and goings during the night.
For Amber, the unfortunate Resident Advisor for Rick’s dorm, the job falls to her. His escapades took place at her dorm under her watch, so her punishment is to have all her sources of income stripped and her academic schedule rearranged so that she can become the minder, the babysitter, the roommate for Rick—the same Rick whom she has known since high school and whose friends took pleasure in tormenting.
Wright has crafted a clever, sweet enemies to lovers story which will leave a smile on the reader’s face. With humor, she brings a new twist to the telling of a happily ever after delight where the best proof of a couple’s success is acknowledging that each member of the couple completes the other, making each a better person.

First of all the typos, misspelled words, grammar mistakes, misused words were outlandishly bad. This book doesn't look like it was even self edited let alone been viewed by an actual editor.
Second was the complete lack of fact checking about something that's entirely common knowledge. Most people graduate high school in the US between the ages of 17 and 19 depending on when their birthday falls, so the fact that most of the freshman class are 21 and older seems like it needs some MAJOR explanation. Exactly why did the entire freshman class take off three years between graduating high school and attending college? Also since when do colleges allow keggers in dorms? And in what universe would it be legal to pin the behavior of one student on another. As in literally the premise of this book is that the dude fucked up and if she doesn't stop him from doing it again she gets kicked out of school to the point her entire schedule gets changed to shadow him, supposedly into equivalent class for her degree program in business that somehow includes nutrition. The premise is ridiculous.
Beyond the fact that plot and character development are practically nonexistent, can we talk about the fact Amber has a different backstory in the beginning of the book than she did in the end of the book? The book isn't even that long! I read this in like 20 minutes. There's no excuse for forgetting character history in a book that short.
Also the makeover scene pretty much offends every bone in my feminist body. A woman does not need high heels, a skimpy dress and makeup to be beautiful and any guy that can't see that isn't worth dating in the first place. In addition the hero was a total douche. This book was awful.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Amber and Rick. Amber is working three jobs at the college to pay her way through, she works in the bookstore, the cafeteria and is a RA at the dorm. Amber is not popular and is known as being a pain because she enforces the rules. Amber can't afford not to do her jobs in order to stay in school. Rick is a football player and is from a wealthy family. When Rick throws a party and gets in trouble, the Dean assigns Amber as his keeper to make sure he stays out of trouble. Rick and Amber knew each other in high school when Amber was bullied by his friends. Rick is not happy about having a babysitter and he tries to get her to allow him to party, but Amber doesn;t want to let him. When Rick offers to take Amber to another party and give her a makeover, she agrees. Rick liked Amber and the more time they spend together, the more he wants to be with her, but she doesn't think she can trust him. I liked this story. I liked Amber, i think she pushed herself so hard to reach her goals and i think she needed to lose some of the pressure she put on herself. Rick needed to grow up and realize he was responsible for his actions and he couldn't throw money at everything, Good one.
Amber is going through college and paying her way through working three jobs and a full schedule of classes. One day feeling absolutely exhausted, she goes home to sleep. She is in such a deep sleep that she doesn’t hear a party going on in the dorm. She wakes up the next morning to the dorm trashed. She fears she is going to lose her job and will have to drop out.
Rick is the star football player on his team and a star student at the college. He throws a party for a girl he met and ends up at the police station charged for hitting a police officer. He ends up in front of the dean and told he has to be kept out of trouble till he graduated. Amber will be his babysitter and he now has to share her room.
Things start off tense but eventually they realise that they have a friendship forming, till one night at a party, Rick rescues Amber from being attacked and they spend the night making love. They then argue over a rumour and Amber wants to leave the college and get away, but Rick talks with his dad and he sorts it out and they have their happily ever after.

This is an inspirational story about growth and responsibilities. Rick was the typical rich, college, football jock, who could have any girl he wanted. Amber was the typical college introvert, who has to work two to three jobs, so she could afford tuition and living expenses. The Dean assigns Amber as Rick’s roommate and chaperone, to keep him out of trouble, with the stipulation that if she fails, they will both be expelled. Their initial interaction is highly charged, however, their relationship changes for the better, as they get to know each. Unfortunately, a deceitful individual and misinformation, threatens to derail their blissful relationship. The story shows that two people can learn from people who are different from them and communication is the key to achieving success in any situation. It's such a riveting tale, that really draws you in and holds your attention until you have read the last word.

ONE AWESOME ROLLERCOASTER RIDE!!! Shock and Awe! Madison produces one mesmerizing, engaging, heart pounding, pulse racing, sensational, page flipping delight that blasts this bad boy wide open. Satisfying is an understatement, you get it all with this engaging adventure. One mind blowing storyline and striking plot, welds this gem together piece by piece. Add all the drama, intrigue and suspense that jolts this baby into a tailspin with staggering impacts. Pushing through the trials and tribulations, keeping pace with a bevy of ups and downs traversing every sharp corner and sleek line blasts this little gem to life beautifully. The realism and authenticity of the characters as their on point personalities blend and connect along with the graphically detailed scenes it's easy to interpret each scenario as they play off one another. Awesome job Madison, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Read author books before and really enjoyed reading them. Amber had three jobs to support her self though Athens university working counter at the cafeteria the bookstore and the RA at the dorms. Rick launder is a rich boy who is a college football player. Both of them went to the same college but they never hanged in the same circles. Then rick gets into trouble and amber looses two of her jobs to chaperone rick so that he doesn’t get into anymore trouble and they have to share her dorm room. While amber chaperones rick they get to know each other and they bring out her out of her shell and he changes his ways and see things in a different light. While reading the book you see and feel the pair of them changing in front of your eyes and you get to know the real people that they are. I really enjoyed this book recommend it.

As I try to write a review on this book there is just something about this story that warms your heart and puts a smile on your face.
Amber is a determined young lady to do better for herself than what her mom had. Rick is a rich kid with a heart of gold.
Amber is strong, she fights for everything she has and gives more even when she she doesn't have it to give. This characters is amazing on how determined she is even when the cards are against her.
Rick even thought he comes from money, his family is down to earth and brought him up to fight for what is right. He works hard to get what he wants.
Together the make each other the best they can be. This makes for an amazing story that I could not put down.

Strong, take no prisoners girl shapes the boy into a man... So enjoyed this story of the hot jock & a perceived plain Jane who could actually become a sexy siren with the right partner. She was tasked by the Dean to ensure he kept his nose clean or he'd be kicked out of college. He came to admire her for her brain & take no prisoners strength & realised pretty quickly that she was way better then all the bimbos he'd dated previously. Back up, could this hot as hell seriously rich guy be falling hard for a young woman, struggling three jobs to pay her dues. Drama with one of his ex girlfriends could have derailed them but then the boy became a man & her hero when he realised he needed her for their hea, sigh. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
College students Amber and Rick are definitely on different spectrums of the scale when it comes to school work or having fun, but they are similar when it comes to putting the effort in getting what you want. Liked how these two were forced to work together which brought out their true selves with their hopes and dreams. I liked how Rick was able to own up his mistakes and strive towards more than just football.

An unlikely pair ended up being a match made in heaven The author nails it with this entertaining story! I kept reading into the night to see how Rick and Amber would end up. It was worth the lost sleep. The story line is solid, and the characters are well thought out and, for the most part, loveable. There were a few bad boys/girls in the mix to liven things up. I was actually sorry to see the book end. I wanted more than just the epilogue, which was great BTW. I know, I’m greedy. But in my defense – this book was that good.
Amber is going to college and is working her fingers to the bones to stay enrolled. Rick is in school for his football ability. Rick throws a party & Amber was suppose to make sure nothing happens in the dorms. Since Rick had the party Amber got in trouble. In order for both of them to stay in school she is responsible to keep him out of trouble. She does keep an eye on him and they start to fall in love.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Rick and Amber. They are college students in Oregon, she a nerd and he's a football player. As a RA for the downs it's her job to keep track of the parties. When a party end with Rick and Amber in trouble with the dean, they are forced to live together and get becoming his babysitter. But things heat up when she's in danger. Great HEA.

A fast good read! Rick is a football jock with money. Amber is a student who works 3 jobs to pay for college, one as a Dorm Advisor. Rick throws a birthday party for someone but the aftermath that was left of the dorm got Amber in trouble. Which throws Amber life and academic future to the winds! Now she has to patrol/ babysit Rick the up coming football player star. Can she forgive him for all the trouble he caused? Can these two be friends?

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Rick a rich bad boy just wants to play football. Amber a good student that has to work three jobs to go to school. Rick and Amber were put in the same room just so Amber can keep an eye on the bad boy. The chemistry between them was warm and fuzzy. On one side fun and games and on the other, holding down three jobs to keep up financially. Life on campus is not always what we expect, especially when everything seems to fall apart. Rick and Amber were put together to keep him on the straight and narrow and ended up becoming his saving grace. Life is not always easy and often sacrifices are essential.
Well done Madison Wright.

Awesome read! This was my first book by Madison Wright. She didn’t disappoint. The story follows Amber and Rick. Amber is a hard-working college student. She is paying her way through school. Rick is the school’s golden boy. He’s rich and a football player. Fate draws them together. Amber finds herself babysitting Rick. Initially, they have a very tense relationship and eventually it develops into more. Will their differences keep them apart? Or will they allow themselves to develop more?
Playing With The Enemy by Madison Wright is a great read, interesting, intriguing, filled with drama, suspense and romance. a story of Rick and Amber,a jock and a wallflower that will hooked you up and keeps you entertained from start to finish, well done!

Amber his juggling school and 3 jobs, definitely not popular but her life is turned upside down when she has to babysit a popular athlete, Rick. Their relationship is not without a few bumps. It is overall a fun and quick read (a little too short, I would have have a few more chapters towards the end).

A fast moving, easy to read book. Hard reality for less fortunate student vs the easy life of the rich and privilege. But life is full of surprises and you just need the push of someone special to grasp the best life can be. Don't let your past hold you back. Work hard and you will succeed. Great book!

Amber being so driven and misunderstood until she was tasked with having to keep a eye on Rick. She definitely had her plate full prior to that. She did keep Rick our of trouble for the most part while he helped her to break out of her shell a little. Pushing her out of her shell helped them to connect and get to know one another more to create a great couple.
I'm not a big fan of college tales but this story was a very pleasant way to unwind after a hectic day. Ms Wright has penned very believable, very human characters.
