In 1755, a large military payroll disappeared in Colonial America. The story is now a local legend that most people believe to be little more than a myth. A chance discovery by a young boy 240 years later will reopen the quest for the lost cache and put numerous people’s lives at risk, including Tom Kenney, Vietnam Veteran, small businessman, and country pastor, and many other people, innocent and not. Some seeking priceless treasure will stop at nothing to have it.
Living in Cumberland ,this is a treat. The premise is great, the descriptions of our area are terrific. I agree West Virginia needs massive road work. Of note: Emmanuel Episcopal church sits on part of the site of Fort Cumberland, the First Presbyterian is across the street. Coney Island Hot dogs continues to prosper, and the owner is a splendid character. Moving onto volume two. Recommend
Was enjoying the story especially the references to the area around Cumberland but ending felt like the author had to finish right now. Also the political references , ugh. I read to get away from all the noise.
Excellent story with lots of history from Washington to today. Christian based but has lot of stories of families, history from French and Indian ware, through th civil war Center around West VA and the Pot amid River.
Poor grammar, poor punctuation, poor verb tense reconciliation, poor plot structure. Never again will I read one of his books and for those of you who care about such things, I advise you not to as well.
