Andrea spends her time while she's not dreaming up friends and villains alike chasing after her two kids and husband at their home in rural West Virginia. Her guilty pleasures include Reese Cups and reading most of the night.
You know what I realized? There's an almost indescribable relationship I have with Stephanie's books, her words and the characters she created over the years have become so close to my heart that opening up one of her books always feels like coming home. The worlds that she has created are comforting and sexy and real with emotions that have you forever bonded with her characters.
I'm always so invested in her characters so I was so stoked that I would be getting an all grown up Victoria! I've loved this strong, precocious, super hero loving babe since we first met her! If you don't know she is the daughter of Josh and Sara and how lucky is she to have Brianna as a bonus mom and Drew as a bonus dad. *side note I would love to make out with either or both dad's any day LOL did I mention how much I love Stephanie's heroes?
Victoria has eyes for Anthony (who I loved right away) he works for her dad as a mechanic and he's also into comics and evens makes them! Swoon. Anthony has a past that Victoria doesn't know about so that makes him feel like he's not good enough for her, of course Victoria being who she is isn't having any of that, Anthony is either in or he's out!
Pining is a friends to lovers romance, that is heart warming, fun and sexy. Stephanie Rose can do no wrong in my eyes and always knows the perfect balance to keep you wanting more! I hope we get to see Anthony & Victoria again! *hint hint
Even in a short story, Rose continues to slay me with her words. Combining the right amount of heat with a sighworthy and truly sweet story, Pining is about Victoria (featured in both Rewrite and Simmer) and the man she falls head over heels with and is her father's employee, Anthony. They have this crazy good chemistry starting off as friends but one night changes that all that. Both feel as if they might be mismatched since their lives are very different but I loved that because of the novellas length, we didn't have to wait very long for Anthony, in particular, to come to his senses. With the amazing family support from Victoria's crew, this little gem is just what I love about the holidays: a chance to warm up by the fire with a favorite author's imagination.
5 stars!
P.S. I look forward to reading more from this collection!
Reading Santa, Is It You?, M.C. Decker's contribution to the upcoming Hoarder Anthology Mistletoe Over Manhattan, will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit.
Santa, Is It You? is such a sweet story and Nick is even sweeter, or should I say a perfect Christmas present! I loved how even though this novella is a quick read, the storyline left me feeling totally satisfied. I loved both Cali and Nick and Cali's no-nonsense best friend Kimber. M.C. Decker made sure she delivered all the feels in such a short time. Mistletoe Over Manhattan should be on everyone's Christmas wish list. ============================= This Review is for Andrea Bills' Santa's Slayings. Let me tell you that Andrea's contribution is reason enough to buy this Anthology and yet there is so many more fabulous authors and stories still to be read.
How Andrea is able to give you a sense of Christmas spirit while a murderer is on the loose is beyond me but she does! Lorilie and Beryl are thrown together under the most unfortunate circumstances but the pairing is magic in the making.
Andrea Bills throws an Epilogue in Santa's Slayings that made me audibly gasp not once but TWICE! I need more!!
There’s something so comforting and effortless about how Stephanie Rose writes. She delivers heartfelt romance in spades. It’s like coming home after a long day. Snuggling up with your favorite book in front of the fireplace. Pure Contentment. Pining gave me all the feels thanks to her flawless prose. Her Second Chances series is a favorite of mine and Pining is a spin off but can easily be read without haven’t read her other books. It’s so good to be back with Sara, Drew, Josh and Brianna. The four characters from Simmer and Rewrite. Victoria is Sara and Josh’s daughter. Nineteen years old and struggling with a crush but Anthony is so much more than a crush. The feelings are reciprocated but it’s not just as simple as just getting together when the mind says something different. I simply adore Victoria. She’s confident and honest around Anthony and that’s all because of the two amazing families she’s blessed with having. They’re so supportive of Victoria and they all especially her fathers give her and Anthony some relationship advice. So many sweet and wonderful moments in the company of the Falco and Kosta family. Pining is the perfect title for this heartwarming Christmas novella.
This is a review for Pining by Stephanie Rose. Cute holiday novella. Anthony and Victoria were so good together. The chemistry between them was so good. They have been dancing around each other for a while and when they finally do get together, his past (because he lets it) comes back and tries to put a damper on their relationship. From the start of this story, you will be pulled in until the very last page. These characters seem so real. Stephanie Rose is such a great story teller.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I had the absolute pleasure of reading an early copy of Stephanie Rose's Pining, and absolutely loved it! From the Christmas feels to the glimpses of characters past, it was absolutely everything. I fell hard for Victoria and Anthony!
For a short story, I can't believe how much of their backstories we were able to get! Not only did I feel like I knew them, I could feel their connection and wanted them to be together. I loved that we got to see a transformation in Anthony as he has to take a chance to embrace his second chance at a good life. I also loved the echoes of Victoria's parents that brought back all the feels I have for this family.
Don't worry if you aren't familiar with Victoria and her family. This works as a complete standalone, but you will definitely want to read both Rewrite and Simmer once you finish!
Just finished reading Believe...And It Will Happen by Ginni Conquest... such a sweet, romantic, funny, touching story. Make sure you have your hot chocolate (don’t forget the marshmallows) ready, are in your toastiest pj’s, wrapped in your favorite blanket, cuddled up on your favorite chair! This story will have you all in your feelings, you will laugh, say “awwwww” a million times and will not be able to stop reading until the very end because you just need to know how this love story ends. Let’s just say Santa personally made sure to grant Maddie’s niece, Lizzie her one and only wish for Christmas... You just have to read the story to find out more.
I have read all of Ginni’s books and I love every one of them because she just has a way of making you feel like you are in the story right beside the characters! One of the things I love is that Ginni puts a personal life experience of hers in every story and you have to try to figure it out - BUT in this story she gave us a bonus and told us what it was! Go read this story, you will be happy you did !
This review is for Pining by Stephanie Rose. Anytime I get to jump back into Ms. Rose’s book world I’m excited. And to get Victoria’s story, well I’ve adored her since the beginning. And Anthony, I instantly fell for him too. Add in the fact that it’s a Christmas story and I mean I’m in seventh heaven. I loved this story and wished there was more!
This review is for Santa Is It You by MC Decker. Holy wow! Christmas and a tour of New York. I’d love to visit every single place Cali and Nick did. Plus, I wish I had the luck that our Cali has. I loved this story so so much!
I just finished Ginni Conquest's story "Believe...And It Will Happen," the tale of Maddy and Lukas two fashionistas whose love blossoms starting with a whimsical visit to Donnigan's Department store's North Pole. Maddy is fresh off a wounding divorce and has poured her energy into creating a fabulous haute couture handbag line. Lukas has recently taken over the reins of Donnigan's Department Store from his dad and is fashion-forward enough to recognize Maddy's design talents. They are set to have a business meeting in a few days, but Maddy is strong-armed into bringing her niece to see Santa at Donnigans. Lukas spots her from across the room and sparks fly. A heartwarming tale of the magic of the Season! Ginni Conquest
As of now, I have only read Pining by Stephanie Rose and I really enjoyed it! I wish it was longer - I want to know more about Anthony and Victoria! These two are very lovable characters. Ahhh... young love! Stephanie, I need an epilogue further into the future please. Do they make it through her going back to college??? Does he end up going to college??? Does he become a comic book writer/illustrator??? I need more information!!!
(You can meet Victoria's family more in Simmer and Rewrite... I had to look to remember which books. Now - onto Josh... *sigh*)
Just finished Santa, Is It You? by the amazing MC Decker. A quick fun loving read full of Christmas joy. Loved reading about Cali and Nick's journey to togetherness. Add in the wity friend banter and you're left with a five star heartwarming Christmas rom-com. Cannot wait to see what the rest of Mistletoe Over Manhatten brings.
Believe...And It Will Happen by Ginni Conquest will definitely transport you back to your youth watching Cinderella., wondering if Prince Charming really exists. I was captivated from the first chapter and felt the magic of her words throughout the whole story. You will enjoy this modern day adventure filled with twists and turns throughout as this author spins her magic wand and. the child in you, wiggles your toes wondering if the proverbial glass slipper will fit! This is truly a Hallmark worthy Christmas classic. Now...I wonder, where can I get my own Maddison M original?
There is something so magical about Christmastime in New York City. So when I saw this collection with holiday romances set in my town, I knew I had to give them a read. And let me tell you this anthology gave me the wonder and joy that I know exists here this time of year.
Even though I enjoyed all the short stories,I'm gonna talk a minute on my favorite four from this set.
STRANGERS IN THE CITY JA Low is a totally new to me author and this title was steamy and shocking from the first page. Even with the crap circumstances they met under, their attraction was instant. I adored Callie and her spirit. I hated what happened to her but was so glad that Rhys was there because holy hotness that man breathes power and authority. I loved how he stepped up and in to help Callie. And she returned the favor in turn. But jealously and resentment weren't far away and threw a wrench is what they had been building...
SANTA'S SLAYINGS Andrea Bills is another new to me author but holy crap! Yes, there was some romance but this one was a lot of mystery-thriller (which I LOVE). Both Lorilie and Beryl were strong characters. Determined not to let the twisted "Santa" killer strike again. It was a whirlwind of trying to stay two steps ahead and put the pieces of the puzzle with uneven edges together. And through it all, they showed each other sides to themselves that most didn't know. Lorilie's inner strength was revealed as was Beryl's tender hand. I also really enjoyed that this took place not in present times. It was fun to experience the city in an unknown to me era.
PINING It is no secret that I am BIG Stephanie Rose fan. So getting to see the kids all grown up is a true treat. And yes, all the parents make an appearance!
I really liked Victoria. I saw so much of her parents in her. Her strength. Her kindness. Her take no prisoners attitude. Her tender heart that yearned for Anthony. HOLY HOTNESS!! That man, and he is indeed all man, was her perfect match. If only he would get out of his own way.
BELIEVE AND IT WILL HAPPEN Ginni Conquest is another new to me author (reason 374 I love anthologies). Maddy and Lukas' story couldn't have happened without a spunky kid. The imagery was so vivid, I could see myself in the North Pole at the store. Throw in two fabulous best friends and a meddling Santa and it was the perfect holiday wish come true.
** Full of whimsy and charm the Mistletoe Over Manhattan is a recipe for Christmas delight. Each story was like reading a Hallmark movie- a little predictable but even so, I wasn't able to stop reading. And best of all, most of the stories are open ended so my fingers are crossed that all of these characters will pop up in the future!
Wow! What an incredible Anthology! Each story so wonderful and unique! I loved the feeling of finishing each one and being perfectly content with every ending. No cliffhangers. And amazing story lines. Even with every short story I got so attached to all the characters. Such wonderful authors in this anthology.
The story "Believe...And It Will Happen" by Ginni Conquest was truly a "feel-good-Christmas-story" that I enjoyed reading. I was quickly immersed in the storyline and I couldn't put it down until I reached the end. This story could totally be a Christmas Hallmark movie! :) Grab your favorite drink, put the fire on and start reading!
Loved the Stephanie rose book pining! The chemistry was amazing! I especially loved the backstory to the characters- realistic and honest. And I’m biased - I have a houseful of comic addicts! Great story!
I just finished reading Believe ...and it will happen a Holiday Romance story by Ginni Conquest. Get ready to get in the holiday spirit with this sweet, sexy, funny, charming story about finding love in the most unexpected way. Short and Sweet, you won't want to put it down. For me, the best part of the story is the epilogue...no spoilers!!! It just takes you full circle and you feel connected to the author. Happy Holidays everyone!
Pining by Stephanie Rose is everything you want a holiday novella to be. This story is one that hit me hard. Anthony feels like he’s not good enough for Victoria but she knows he is! The characters are so richly described that I felt like I knew them. I was pulling for them all the way!
"Nope, she wasn’t mine, and other guys could have her. But, not tonight."
I am so excited and thrilled to be a part of the Mistletoe Over Manhattan anthology. I can't wait for everyone to meet Anthony and Victoria. Rewrite and Simmer fans will already know Victoria very well, but their story is a total standalone and filled with holiday angst and longing, why Pining was the perfect title!

What a wonderful idea to bring these very talented authors together to create a collection of fun, steamy romances to support a very worthy cause!
Pining by Stephanie Rose This sweet and sexy forbidden holiday romance is a great example of the perfect short story. It is so beautifully written, capturing my heart right from the beginning and making me fall hard for both characters. This is about Victoria who we met before as a little girl in both Rewrite and Simmer. She is now a strong, self-assured young woman with a bright future. She has made friends and is falling for Anthony, a mechanic at her father's motorcycle shop. Anthony is so sweet, and a talented artist who made a horrible mistake in his youth, and paid the price. He is falling for Victoria but doesn't feel he is worthy of her. I loved how this all played out, starting as friends and then growing into so much more, it felt very real, and heartfelt. I especially loved the overprotective father scenes with Josh and Drew. This slow burn, friends to lovers romance is a wonderful Holiday read that will warm your heart.
Pining is not your typical holiday story. It is so much more. It’s a continuation of a family ( if you’ve read Stephanie Rose’s previous books) we came to know and love. However, don’t worry if you haven’t read the previous stories because you will be able to follow Victoria’s and Anthony’s story. It clearly stands on it’s on. The thing is you after you read this story you will want to go back and read the books of this beautiful family. It will touch your heart in all kinds of emotional ways. Victoria has grown up and is working at her father’s motorcycle shop. This is where she meets and develops a friendship with Anthony. Anthony has some baggage of his own. I don’t do spoilers so I won’t get into details. What I will say is that there is a definite lesson to be learned and a realism to this story. How many of us can’t forgive ourselves for something? It begs the question is a second chance meant for everyone? Is everyone entitled to one? This is a story of forgiveness, love, and hope. The fact that it takes place during the holiday season just adds to the story’s depth. Many of us take for granted the holidays are happy for everyone. In reality many are just trying to get through them. Not everyone has happy memories or their situation isn’t ideal in the present. It also deals with selfless love. A lot is packed into this story. So much that I would love to see a follow up. Stephanie has unique concepts and beautiful creativity in her writing. She adds little touches and her writing is very vivid. You feel and see the story as it’s played out. This is a family you never want to leave. They’re current, eclectic in nature and a treasure, so much so that I want to go back and re-read Simmer and Rewrite. So sit back grab a hot chocolate and enjoy, this holiday tale. I did!
P.S.- prepare to be filled with the holiday spirit!
I'm BEYOND excited to share the cover of Mistletoe Over Manhattan! Eight authors bring cheer, romance, and a whole lot of steam to the Big Apple this holiday season as they hang some “Mistletoe over Manhattan” in the very first Book Hoarder's anthology. All proceeds from eBook sales of this anthology will benefit Solar Responders.
In this collection, you can read my story, ROCKEFELLER ROMANCE!!! All Katie wants this holiday is her boss underneath the Christmas tree. After loving Branson Ford from afar, she finally decides to make her move on the enigmatic CEO, only to have her advances turned down. Hunter Johnstone is the office playboy who knows a thing or two about flirting. When he offers to help Katie become the Christmas vixen she so wants to be, the two quickly blurry the lines between naughty and nice. It's a friends-to-lovers holiday romance, that will make you wonder if what you asked Santa for is really what you want on Christmas morning.
Mistletoe Over Manhattan is a great anthology to read to help get into the holiday spirit. I started by reading the authors that I had read before and then jumped around from and I did read all of the stories. One of the things I love about anthologies is it gives you the opportunity to read short story of authors you don't know as well as authors you know. They are all good stories. My two favorite are Santa, Is It You? by M.C. Decker and Rockefeller Romance by Jeannine Colette. Some of the stories I was happy with the way they ended and others I hope get expanded because I would really like more of the characters.
I read Rockefeller Romance by Jeannine Colette**Oh this was such a good short romance book. I am dying to read the rest of the short stories that make up this Anthology.
What an amazing holiday anthology! I loved reading all these shorts from multiple amazingly talented authors I already loved to new ones I now have to read more from. Mistletoe Over Manhattan is romantic, steamy, and absolutely perfect for the season.
PINING by Stephanie Rose This was a fantastic friends-to-lovers romance with a splash of forbidden mixed in and everything worked beautifully. Victoria and Anthony were flawless. They both had me at hello and it got better with every page I turned. Victoria is such a strong heroine. The girl is perfection and our hero? Wow! Stephanie Rose can’t anything other than heroes I completely lose my heart to and it’s the best thing ever. We also got glimpses of a few of my favorite past characters and my heart just couldn’t take the joy! I’m praying...and begging...that this becomes a full length story at some point because, WOW! 5 stars.
SANTA, IS IT YOU? by MC Decker This story was freaking adorable! A sweet romance through and through. Nick and Cali are the cutest and so is their romance. It’s a super quick read, but wholly satisfying. It gave me just the right amount of feels and left me with a smile. I call that a win! This was my first read from this author and now I’m totally intrigued. 5 stars.
What a wonderful anthology of eight romances all in one collection! The contributing authors bring romance, steam, and holiday magic to the Big Apple in “Mistletoe over Manhattan, “the very first Book Hoarder's anthology. I read this in two days and couldn’t stop! Loved it and highly recommend! Each story was different and had it’s own genre...Some were older couples, some were new adult, some were funny and some were a bit heartbreaking but ended of course with a HEA! I love that each story was set in New York as I have been there several times and it really is magical at Christmas.
I was so pleased not only to read this book, but pleased at the fact that the authors donated their stories as all proceeds from eBook sales benefit Solar Responders. Led by CEO Hunter Johansson, Solar Responders is a non-profit organization focused on installing solar and battery storage systems on first responder stations.
Download today and start reading these soon to be holiday classics: Santa’s Slayings by Andrea Bills Strangers in the City by JA Low Believe...And it Will Happen by Ginnin Conquest Rockerfeller Romance by Jeannine Colette Pining by Stephanie Rose A Very Merry Ex-Mas by Kat T Masen The Gift of Forgiveness by CD Bradley Santa Is it You by MC Decker
Today I am reviewing Andrea Bill’s story Santa’s Slayings which is part of the Mistletoe Over Manhattan anthology. Andrea contacted me as I had read and LOVED her book The Forgotten Ones so it was a no brainer to pick up this short story.
It is the 1970’s and I have been introduced to a young Beryl Bills working for the CIA. I have not had the pleasure of reading The Broken Kind which is the 3rd and final book in the Brotherhood series but when it comes out I plan on doing so.
So back in the past and someone is going around killing innocent women dressed as…yeah you guessed it Santa!! Only this time, in this current situation he did not get the girl he wanted! In walks Bills and his partner, Bills sees the intended victim Lorilie and it’s the insta-love. However, she is his charge and he has made promises to protect her. Lorilie, she feels the same way despite being scared and worried about being the potential next victim she finds safety and strength when she is with Bills. Obviously being packed in so few pages somethings do feel a bit rushed as they flee from her flat to go to Manhattan. There were some cute and comedic sections in the book which helped to break the tension of the serial Santa killer running loose.
When I was reading this, I did feel like everything fitted together a little bit too easily for the CIA and I was a bit bereft, even with a Christmas happy ending. But wait, there was another chapter I had yet to read and this is where Andrea lays such a blow I had chills down my spine. It was creepy as hell and it worked. I am hoping that somehow this is incorporated in the future because man it was a low blow!
I adored Andreas’s writing before and I still do now. She got me sucked in, unravelling the story in two points of view and kept me hooked until the final chilling ending sentences.
I haven’t read the other books in the anthology but this one is a corker and I am glad I had the opportunity to read it.
Just finished the most uplifting story of the season, with teardrops in my eyes!: "Believe And It Will Happen" by Ginni Conquest. From the first paragraph, the beauty of a caring loving family, great friends (who always have your back), give us the drive to keep going forward no matter what doldrum you find yourself in. These chapters are filled with the undeniable powers of friendship, hope, faith, optimism and belief - The palpable love and support between a brother & sister, Aunt & niece, two ever loving friends (we all need David and Frank!), is the Gift of all Gifts when it's clear that all the protagonist (Maddy) requires is her self confidence back, which they all manage to instill back into her when she thinks that all hope is lost. This great read will make you realize this, and give you the power to keep striving forward to attain what you desire most..... Believe and it will happen!
The overiding message, written with first-hand knowledge by Ms. Conquest is Never Give Up!!!
