As a fan of Dianne's blog "Simple Words of Faith," it was a delight to read the deeply personal story of her Mary Experiment.  Each chapter delved into a different aspect of her exploration of what it means to allow one's self just be after a lifetime of finding worth mainly because of what we do.  The warmth and every-day grace of her writing shine through and made me feel as if I was sitting on her lovely front porch with a cup of coffee, listening  to her story and hearing Hubby Rick's laughter waft through the window.  Speaking as one blessed to have *actually* sat on her front porch, I can attest that Dianne has and is truly living The Mary Experiment.  I'm moved by the courage it took her to say "No" and lay down the pastor role that had defined her for so long; choosing instead to value just being at Jesus's feet.  Dianne's vulnerability permeates every page, allowing her message to open my eyes to the ways I resist and sabotage Mary moments in my own life. I'm thankful to have witnessed simple ways Dianne is nurturing joy in her life and how that subtle shift invites those around her to do the same.  Similarly, the queries at the end of each chapter invite readers to pause and digest each theme of the book.  The Mary Experiment speaks lovingly to women of any church denomination or age, asking us to turn off the smart phone, stop adding to the To Do list and Just Be.

Very insightful book telling her stories and the stories from the Bible to show doing takes over our lives!

I couldn’t put down this book as there were so many messages in their for me. She does a great job of relating her own live to Martha Mary and Jesus m’s stories in the Bible and the contract between her and Mary. At the end of chapter she ends with help questions for the reader to themselves and focused prayer for the topic of each chapter. I strongly recommend reading this book . Especially if you take on to much in life and find yourself out of balance John T Campbell
