As her senior year approaches, Layla has conflicting emotions, wondering if Olde Earth is truly the best place for her. Sure, the Academy is the only school that caters to her elven abilities. But she could finish high school anywhere. Like somewhere without angry relatives jealous of her powers. Or someplace where the school’s council doesn’t threaten her life with uncontrollable experiments.
Yet as classes resume, she’s not the only one lacking a sense of welcome. One instructor disappears, another resigns.
There are bound to be adjustments as students prepare to transition to life after graduation, but Layla must first choose in which direction she wants to continue. In order to plan for her future, she needs to find the courage to defend who she is—and not let her powers decide her fate.
Amabel Daniels lives in Northwest Ohio with her patient husband, three adventurous daughters, and a collection of too many cats and dogs. Although she holds a Master’s degree in Ecology, her true love is finding a good book. When she isn’t spending time outdoors, she’s busy brewing up her next novel, usually as she lets her mind run off with the addictive words of “what if…”
Book Review: Victory: Book Four of Olde Earth Academy Series Author: Amabel Daniels FIVE STARS This series was recommended to me by a friend and I found it in Kindle Unlimited and started reading. Ms. Daniels pulls you into this story and you find yourself there like you are one of the characters. This is a YA fantasy story. The adventures they take you on make you feel like you are there doing this with them, sneaking out and hiding in the library, making friends and enemies alike. The fourth book finds the kids at the end of their schooling and training at the academy. What does the future hold for them? Where will they go next and what will the outside world hold for them? There are currently four books out in this series: Secrecy Discovery Mastery Victory I admit that I binge read them all in less than 72 hours. I was just so engaged and wanting to know WHAT NEXT!! I hated it when the fourth book ended and you have so many questions left in your mind. KLH
After reading this book, I wanted to write and post this review to share my honest experiences toward the story.
It’s Layla and co’s final year at Olde Earth Academy and things couldn’t get more stressful. Yes, the last academic year is always more difficult, but Layla needs to decide what to do after she finishes school, whether she stay with Olde Earth and one of its affiliate campuses for post-secondary studies, or attend college/uni elsewhere. This year, Layla has a lot of interaction with Glorian, the headmistress, and also meets some relatives she didn’t know she had.
Just as exciting as the others in the series, this well-written conclusion ties up the loose ends nicely and is a satisfying ending. I felt a bit sad at the end of reading this because it was such a great series and I am really going to miss the characters, the world and the story itself, but I guess that’s a sign of how captivated I was with the story. This is an amazing series I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves YA fantasy or academy novels. Believe me, it is awesome!
Pathetic endings ruin what could have been a good read.
While I quite enjoyed the story I totally hate being blackmailed into buying a book to find out what happened in n one I have already paid for. This bitch does that. It's total greed and she may think it makes people buy her books. However all it has done now I've finished her little game is to make sure I never buy anything of hers again. one of my favourite writers suddenly started that game. I had loved his writing for years have many of his books. Now I rarely read him and won't pay for his books. So this author who doesn't have a tenth of his ability hasn't much hope. Terry Brooks did write great books at one time before he started the cutting the story short and making you read the next book to see what happened. This is a pathetic practice and shows that the writer has no trust in the merit for their own writing a cheap ploy by greedy fools.🤔😡
This may be my least favorite of the series so far. I think the bug incident just didn’t feel like the students should be involved & the big deal the staff was making it. Maybe I missed something? When that happened, I became a bit luke warm on this…
At the end, there is a link to get a short story of their graduation. Reading it now. Not seeing a good reads link to say I read it. Very glad I am reading this before the next book as I suspect things here will translate to the next story…
I really enjoyed this book and series. Layla is desperate to get away from Glorian and her mind games. She is fed up with her trying to run her life and is now after the neala Nevis gave to her. Finding out Glorian made sure all her college applications were rejected was the final straw. Follow Layla’s final year at the Academy and her budding romance with Flynn. This book and series was awesome, filled with mystical creatures, Elves and awesome friendships. I couldn’t put it down.
Layla is back for her fourth and final year at Olde Earth Academy. There is still problems with Glorian and her son, but she has the backing of friends and family. Can she figure out how her neala works and can she keep it away from those who want it so badly? Her life seems to social out of control, what should she do when she graduates? A brilliant read for all lovers of the supernatural world.
…I’m impressed with these stories, and I plan to read more. Besides being able to write well developed characters, tell a decent story, keep the main character growing, and creating a world, the author also knows how to write good action.
Great entertainment here but also a thoughtful discussion of the individual being part of the collective without losing one’s identity and what makes us unique.
It is the school year and Kayla has to decide what she wants to do in the future. Glorian has plans for her nd demands that she stay. Nevis comes to aid and helps shape her plans, along with Suthering. I would be interested in more.
I've really enjoyed the 4 books and to get some closue if even with a spectacular ending is good. And I get to read a bonus short story. One happy bunny.
