"Lewis Carlton had forgotten, but she would never forget him. Even twenty years later, she still remembered the pain, the helplessness, and the shame."

Full Confession by Linda S. Prather

So this little book is quite the dark tale. I do not want any readers to think I did not like it. It is extremely well written and a fast read.

The plot revolves around a jaded female police officer who has much tragedy in her past..MUCH! All due to one man.

When she next sees this man as an adult he is running for political office. Anna is blinded by rage at seeing him..he got off scott free so many years back. So she decides to get her own form of revenge....

So this was good. And intense. But it was way to gory for me. I would still recommend it but if you are a wuss about blood and gore (like me!!!) you may find this very har d to read. I did.

I can tolerate some of that. But this was a..well it was rough going for me. I was joking about the Wuss thing but really do know this short tale of terror is:

well written.
Intense.
Horrifying.
Insane.
Fascinating
Bloody as all anything. WAY beyond stabby. I do like stabby. ( Dita knows that). But this was Quenton Tarentino on speed.

If you have no issues with these things however..the writing was awesome and it is FREE on Kindle so you may want to give it a try!

Twenty years ago, when she was 12 years old, she was left for dead after being savagely assaulted and forced to watch as the man murdered her parents.

The man was never caught. She changed her name, changed her looks, and joined the police department. Today, Detective Tina Caprillo, for the first time in 20 years, has seen the man responsible.

He has also changed his name, changed his looks, but the eyes never change. She wants justice ... revenge. She wants to make him suffer as he made her suffer.

This is a short story, full of action, a real page turner. The author has done a spectacular job in packing what could be a novel into the little space she actually used. The characters are fully developed and lend credibility to this story. I think these characters would make a terrific series.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this crime fiction thriller short story. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Suspenseful short read

I loved this short story from this thriller author.

Revenge is always sweet, especially when you’ve done everything you can to begin your life over.

Brutally raped and left for dead can Anna find it in her to push through the demons who have taken route in her life over the years and survive another meeting with the man who believed he had killed her?

A cracking short read which is a fast-paced page-turner.

Very interesting story. One of the best short stories that I have read.

Tina is a great character and would love to see more about this character and see how her relationship builds with her partner.

Simply amazing.

I started this short story late last night and couldn’t stop until I’d finished it. Great story, great characters and such a great sense of satisfaction when justice was served in the way it was!

A thrilling short but enthralling read. This author’s books never fail to be a 5* read in my opinion and this is yet another one!

The character descriptions and backgrounds are captured my imagination and I would love the author to write more books with Detective Tina Caprillo at the helm.

How far would you go for revenge? When Anna recognises the man who ruined her life, she decides to finally take matters into her own hands.
I’m not going to give any spoilers so that is as much as I will say!
An interesting short story that had me desperate to know how this was all going to pan out. A thoroughly enjoyable read that I would highly recommend.

An Eye for an Eye

Linda S. Prather's protagonist, Tina Caprillo at the age of 12 is raped and left for dead after watching her family being murdered. She grows up and becomes a detective and after a six month sick leave is assigned to guard the Mayor and is shocked when she sees him.

A good book for Mystery lovers.

Every child deserves justice.
The mark of a great short story is that it is short, but totally resolved at the end. Satisfying, but you want more.
I love Linda's full novels, but look forward to more short stories, also.

Short but excellent

I've never read anything by this author but I downloaded this book and I'm so glad I did. I thought it was an excellent story, enough so that I downloaded the first book in the Kacy Lang series. So far I'm enjoying it immensely. Will recommend to others.

Revenge is sweet

Karma always finds its way back to those that do wrong! This short story is exactly that. A 20 year old nightmare finally goes away after the murderer meets his end. I really enjoyed the flow of this book and the revenge tactic.

Justice

Love to read books like this. Although I know we can't really do this but, boy I would love to see justice done for those who do
These things well done.

I do understand the feeling behind the "female vigilante" trend in books and TV shows but this story rides the bitter edge right over the top and into the abyss below. It could have been expanded into a novel, where there would have been more room for character development and less reliance on sheer savagery.
