Zofia Parker knows smuggling priceless relics out of a war-torn country is a hazardous job. Not when his woman is on the run. Not when she’s in danger. But escaping is the easy part. Finding Zo and getting her out of the country before one of the factions trailing her closes in for the kill will require him to return to the world of covert ops. He’s walking a tightrope without a net and one misstep could cost him his life. And the life of his woman.
Nationally bestselling author Patti O'Shea has won numerous awards for her writing and been nominated for many more. Her books have appeared on the Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, and Borders bestseller lists and have earned starred reviews in prestigious publications such as Booklist.
If you feel the need for some excitement in the form of South American gun runners, drug lords, and territorial power skirmishes in the jungle, “Wicked Intention” by Patti O’Shea will cover those bases and add in a sizzling hot romance as a bonus.
We’re introduced to Finn Rowland, a recently retired Army Special Forces sergeant who is on his last mission to bring down an international arms dealer. To gain access to interested arms purchasers Finn is under cover as a mercenary. His partner in this venture is Zo who is also his significant other. They’ve been together for two years and and part of his mission is to protect Zo from her impetuous self as she attempts to retrieve a relic from its obscure tribal history and get it safely ensconced in a museum.
The narrative is related in third person and covers a two year time line in Zo and Finn’s lives, which brings me to my issues with how that is covered. The story begins in present day for the first few chapters and then begins shifting back and forth in dual time periods. As a literary technique it allows for a more interesting look into the past to explain the present. From this reader’s POV, the constant leaps in time initially annoyed me but the story is compelling enough that I was able to mostly ignore it and just enjoy the action. And there is action to spare in this well written action/adventure romantic suspense. I had not previously read anything by this author but I’m definitely a fan now. The action scenes pulled me in and kept me flipping pages all the way through. Ms O’Shea’s writing is flawless from a literary standpoint and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work, especially The Paladin League series. Four and a half stars.
Special Forces Sergeant Finn Rowland got a sudden invitation for a meeting with arms dealer Jorge Torres’ second-in-command, Henri Silva, giving him no time to check out the café beforehand or to get any of his teammates in position. But there might not be a second invitation, so he was on his own with no weapons, no backup, and no quick way to escape. All through the meeting, he felt someone watching him but couldn’t turn to check it out. When the meeting ended, he finally saw her.
Zofia Parker’s job for the Paladin League was to rescue artifacts that had been looted from archaeological sites, and if necessary, smuggle them to safety. She knows smuggling priceless relics out of a war-torn country is a hazardous job. Now she is on the run with the Disk of the Gods, an ancient artifact on everyone’s wish list. Without her passport and phone, things are a bit more awkward. But if she can stay out of the clutches of both the government and the criminals, she will just have to find a way to rendezvous with the ex-Special Forces soldier.
Special Forces Sergeant Finn Rowland knows Zofia is on the run and in danger. His job is now finding her and escaping the country before she is caught. One mistake could cost both of them their lives. Will he be able to pull this off?
This story was excellent, capturing the reader’s attention from the very beginning and weaving an intricate story line that offers a good blend of drama, emotional turmoil and action. The author brings the characters to life for the reader and I quickly found myself caring about them. Grab your copy and enjoy a well-told story from start to finish.
This is book two in the Paladin League series. It’s Finn and Zo’s story. Wow! I loved this book. This was a solid five star read for me. It reads as a standalone. I haven’t read the first book yet but it’s on my reader ready to go and book three is definitely a preorder for me. This book is full of action and adventure. It’s hot and steamy. The story bounces from present day to Zo and Finn’s past. I think the author did a good job or transitioning between the time changes smoothly.
Zo meets Finn two years ago when he was on his last special forces mission while he was active Army. The attraction is instant and hot. He ends up following her to LA when he gets out of the Army. Taking a job with Paladin they work together for two years until Finn gets sucked back into an op that went sideways when he was still in the Army. Next thing they know, Finn and Zo are in the middle of finding stolen military weapons, recovering an artifact, rescuing someone Zo loves and dealing with relationship issues. You would think this would be over kill and too much for one book, but it works, and it was pure page turning entertainment.

Patti O'Shea is a new to me author, and after experiencing Wicked Intention, I'm a fan. Normally I don't enjoy stories as much told in 3rd person, but I very quickly forgot about it as the story took off. Sergeant Finn Rowland is special forces in the Army, and he has one last dangerous mission before he leaves the army, but he definitely got more than he bargained for when the mission took a turn & he came face to face with Zofia Parker as she's in some trouble with her latest mission for the Paladin League. She has the most exciting job rescuing artifacts that have been stolen out of sites, but it comes with some big danger. Finn knows she's in danger & on the run, so his job is now to locate her & get her out of the country safely. Obviously there's a great deal of action to get the heart racing, twists to get the f-bombs dropping, not to mention Patti O'Shea is a descriptive genius making me feel like I was on the run with them in person. I'm super excited to read more from her, and I believe you will as well after you hit those one click buttons for an exciting good time! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Can I give more than five stars because this book is definitely worth more than five While it is the second book in the series it reads as a total; stand alone but do yourself a favour and read Wicked Obsession you won't be disappointed.
This is a book that is written across two times when Zo and Finn first met when he was a special forces soldier and present day where he now works for Paladin you would think this could get complicated but it actually works and is part of what makes the story flow so well. Most of it is set present day times but harks back to a mission from his time as a soldier. We end up with a massive twist as past mission future events missing weapons and ancient relics all combine to give you a thrilling ride where you don't want to put the book down . Come on who needs sleep it is just a luxury.
A great entry in the Paladin League series, in this one Special Forces Sergeant Finn Rowland meets a woman he can’t forget, Zofia Parker, and the adventure begins. Zo is fearless when it comes to her own safety, and chases illegal antiquities to purchase and place them in museums where they belong. Finn will do anything to protect her. Unfortunately, he’s also committed to helping his former Army comrades in bringing down an international arms dealer and his operation. Of course Zo gets mixed up in it all and the danger and intrigue are pretty intense. The story skipped around a lot between the past and the present, but it all came together in the end and I enjoyed the conclusion very much.
This book is part of The Paladin League series and is exceptionally well written. The story line is quiet believable and it just keeps you turning the pages. This is Zofia Parker and Finn Rowland's story, it's a story of drama, violance, suspense, and romance. The characters are very well written and they jelled together so well. I can not wait to read more in this series,

This book ended up a lot better than it started. I got confused with the different time periods of the flashbacks at the beginning of the book. At one point I couldn’t remember in which time period they had met, nor could I remember who was who among the secondary characters in the foreign country. But it really came together in the second half, and I was so glad I stuck with it. Excellent book. Two thumbs up!
I liked the story and excitement of this book. It was confusing to read because the author kept going back and forth between the past and the present.
I have read several of Patti O'Sheas books and always enjoyed them. That being said if I had read this book first I probably would not have read any others simply because of the jumping back and forth in time. If I would lose my place it was very difficult to get back to where I was.
This was my first read from this author. It was a good story, but I am not the biggest fan of the stories being written in the third person point of view. This is a deal breaker for me, so 4.5 stars. Other than that an incredible story that pulls you in from the start. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
