Hana is pressed into a marriage meeting with Takane, a scion of a business empire, impersonating her sister to save her father's job! Ready to put that fiasco behind her Hana is shocked that Takane actually seems interested in her! She is exasperated by his immaturity but intrigued despite herself at the fun she has as they try to outwit one another...

Oh wow... this volume is really fun. I over how things turned out on the ship. It’s quite natural when you’re on vacation to want some alone time with the man you love. And it’s quite fun how the mangaka gives her what she wants. I kind of wish there were a couple more chapters here to really give them an experience. But I really did enjoy it from start to finish.

Back at home they take the next step now that they are officially dating. And we get into some fun hijinks. This all went really Weill with the bonus stories in the back. Sometimes it’s just fun seeing these characters in action in different situations they wouldn’t normally be in.

Takane and Hana is a fun shoutout series about a May December romance where our love birds bicker and enjoy every minute of it. You won’t be able to do anything but snicker through it even as your heart melts. I look forward to what the next volume will bring.

“What is this, a shojo manga?

Some contrived drama to push the two closer, a kiss (!), and a mention about Takane’s upbringing. I legit forgot about his parents. I felt really bored with this volume. The age difference still makes me cringe, but I have read so much I gotta finish it now.

Oh wow fidget spinners what a throwback.

This series always takes the strangest turns. I'm starting to lose interest in their antics. It's starting to get too repetitive as series like this do, but I think there's only a few volumes left and I feel some character growth coming.

Ahhh this was SUCH a good volume!!

I do have to laugh at how the story doesn't match the cover, but the cover is one of my favorites! Truly though, this was another favorite volume the series and just really enjoyed everything. It was great seeing Takane and Hana genuinely grow closer and be able to see how much they care for one another in their awkward kind of way.

Which speaking of, I do enjoy seeing that awkwardness! For some reason I feel I haven't seen that very often recently in shojo manga recently so it was nice seeing them totally be embarrassed and awkward (specifically after a certain scene).

Lastly, Okamon is amazing (as always), but also Mizuki and Nicola!! I was almost afraid we would never see that potential ship sail, but feeling confident it HAS to after that sweet scene!

The bonus stories were a blast and really really really enjoyed this volume!

This is better than the last volume, but it’s also the point where I’m stepping off from this series because I don’t honestly enjoy it any more - I didn’t rate it lower because I think for some people this will be their jam and, as noted, it’s not as frustrating as previous volumes.

What it is, however, is a continuation of all the schtick we’ve been getting for several volumes without anything new. A couple of cute moments aren’t going to save it for me (they might have in another series, were everything around it not so rote). The lost-at-sea chapters were so cliche that I called the ending the second it happened.

Otherwise we get the usual bickering between Takane and Hana, which I find really stale by this point. The art’s never been my jam and... yeah, this just isn’t for me any more.

I also think they danced around that May-December romance thing enough, but by basically throwing in ANOTHER version of this... well, it now feels to me like this is mostly a story about old dudes grooming young girls. It’s a vibe I get and can’t shake and that’s also souring it for me - 100% that one’s on me though.

Those of you who have loved it up to this point, however, should be happy with what’s on offer and I’m glad if it’s still working for you.

I devoured the series over the course of a couple of months. Took a little longer than I hoped because a few of them decided to take forever from Amazon. Hana ends up roped into taking her older sisters place in a marriage match never expecting that anything would come from it. Instead a we get a very sweet comical whirlwind romance between her and Takane.

I ended up reading the first one and instantly ordering the rest of them it's such a cute series kind of a enemies to lover romance between them. I loved Hana she's an adorable character and I think because of her I'm going to do bubblegum pink hair next. Each manga has the pair growing as characters. Takane had a lot of growing to do but he get's there eventually.

The artwork is as equally lovely as the story. I was captivated right from the start and fell in love with Hana and Takane's story. This is one of my favorite series that I'm so glad I purchased the set. They will always have a special place on my bookshelf and I know they will get some re-reads as I wasn't ready to say goodbye just yet. I plan to read the authors other manga as I loved this one so much. Highly recommend a perfect sweet romance.

Honestly, I don't take this series seriously because of how all over the place it can be. It can be really strong and heartfelt and actually coax a tear from my eye (in a past volume). And then it can make me laugh and bust a gut. This series was pretty outrageous from the get go (as I've said in previous reviews of this series) with an outdated miai as the starting point and two outrageous bratty personalities. A few volumes back was an almost-jumped-the-shark moment that I really did like, because it changed up the story and made characters HAVE to figure out their feelings quickly. And for an eccentric rich boy and his family, of course you're going to get a lot of shady characters and sociopaths lumped into the mix. I didn't mind that development since I felt like it could really happen with corrupt rich people.

Then this volume does a real shark-jump with a lost-at-sea story that seems a bit out of nowhere, which forces the characters to have a one-on-one that did seem to feel slightly forced. But it's very fun to see these guys deal with an actual relationship since their stubborn "I have to win" personalities fighting against it.

Overall, the series is pretty hilarious and fun. Two very flawed, age-gapped characters form a very dysfunctional bond that's pretty funny to watch. They're so over the top that they don't seem like they could ever be real people (even though I'm sure they do exist) so I definitely don't try to humanize them. They're stylized characters and I love them.

The art style is very funny and charming. A lot of great poses, expressions, gestures, and shading. I enjoy manga that doesn't try to clutter up a page just for the sake of it, and the character designs are easy to distinguish from one another. I will definitely be continuing the story. Don't take this series too seriously and just have fun with it!

Absolutely adore this series! At first, I was skeptical in the beginning because I wasn't sure how it would be played out.

However I love Hana's quirky and sarcastic side, whereas Takane is just an immature man child. XD

I do wish during this manga they could've spent a few more days trapped on the island together. I feel like it was rushed a bit too much. But that could just be my opinion. I simply cannot wait for the next volume and hope that it'll be a drawn out manga and never end.

This was a great volume! Very fun, cute, entertaining, and all around enjoyable. Takane and Hana get stranded on an island, , and the subject of Mizuki and Nicola also get a chapter, which is cute and fun. Overall, I enjoyed this volume and would recommend it. Takane and Hana just make me happy. 4.5 stars.

Oh my goodness! Takane and Hana get lost at sea AND stranded on an island! What an awesome installment. Also can the bonus stories in every volume are perfection!

Best moment —
Hana: After all, you’re even tougher than mold and cockroaches.
Takane: APOLOGIZE RIGHT NOW.

This was what I was missing. The fabulous art, the banter, the adventures, all of it.

I liked how this one showed how their friendship evolved. Of course a relationship will change after dating and this one showcased it quite well.

The aspect I continually don’t like about it is the age differences. There’s the main couple’s age difference (but I sorted that out in my review of vol 13) and there’s the age difference between the Italian model and Hana’s friend.

Anyways, I liked the bonus stories. In some aspects, it’s better than the main story. (Probably because they are not stuck in their usual rut.)

A lot of manga have this sidebar, where authors can tell information about themselves and their story. In this one, the author said that the publisher (VIZ MEDIA) was discontinuing it as of 2019. That surprised me a lot, since a lot of manga I read has it. It does make sense though. The author was saying it was a way for the readers to get to know the author but now there’s popular social media, so it’s unnecessary.

Another amazing volume with progress for Hana and Takane. I felt bad about them not really being able to spend time together during the family vacation because they decided to pretend like Takane was Yukari's husband. But of course we have to have a situation where they're forced to be alone. Although the situation was a little scary, I was happy that the 2 were forced alone. I know the relationship between Takane & Hana didn't start off on the best note but this volume really helped show that they just work together.

The whole family goes to Okinawa on vacation which makes things super awkward for Hana and Takane as they pretend they are not a couple (and that instead Takane and Hana's sister are!) They're starting to figure out they need to be honest in their feelings and who they are to one another. It takes some doing (and a total lost at sea episode) to get there though.

This one was a little too far-fetched sometimes, but I still liked it enough to keep going. :)

This volume had good comedy and character values throughout. However, something was missing I just don't know what it was, maybe the plot wasn't as clear and coherent as the past but I still enjoyed it enough to continue hopefully the next volume keeps me engaged in the story and overall character development a bit more.

I was a bit off put this volume at first — the whole lost at sea thing felt really silly to me (even for this series). But it quickly picked up and I was beyond happy again. Now, can we talk about that kiss? Oh my goodness, I love them so much!!

Holy crap! I am still reading this series and just completed vol. 14! I love these characters, so I plan on seeing this whole thing through! This one was not as entertaining as the previous stories, but I am glad to still be following Hana and Takane through their messy romance. ;)

Simpatico dai. Il naufragio si poteva benissimo evitare e come detto dall’autrice la copertina inganna dato che non conduce a nulla.
Abbiamo il primo bacio tra i due ma non mi ha impressionata molto..

Finally got my hands on this volume! The story of Takane and Hana continues. In this book they are on vacation and get stranded on an island and attempt to navigate what being an official couple means.
