This is a collection of Sergio Aragones' cartoons arranged thematically; we have, for example, 'Viva Summer', 'Viva Fishing', etc. I always found his comics amusing. Some of these feel a little dated, but hey, they were drawn over 50 years ago now. Light, fun, and if you dig Mad, you will dig this. 3 amusing stars!
"Viva Mad!" was the first of the Mad Magazine paperbacks I purchased as a ten year old boy from the B. Dalton chain bookstore in the local mall. After 45+ years since then, Señor Aragones still has me LMAO. As always, no words are necessary.
It’s a lot of the classic, goofy Mad humor. Aragones is one of my fav Mad contributors. There’s one bit in here that makes me feel stupid for laughing at it but it always gets me: a mosquito buzzes by and lands in a hippie, and then buzzes off erratically because the hippie was on LSD and the mosquito got high by sucking his blood. I don’t know why, it’s been years since I read this, but that always makes me laugh whenever I remember it.

What can one say about this guy's work? He's one of the Big Five - Don Martin, Sergio Aragones, Al Jaffee, Dave Berg, and Prohias - who can, in my opinion, do no wrong (excepting the blackface that shows up from time to time). If you grew up on classic 60s-80s MAD, you already know that this book is gold.
