Ford Brothers #4

Slippery When Wet

Rate this book
An underloved widower. Her younger, sexy, CEO neighbor. The move that changes more than her address...

A stranger helps save her husband’s life one fateful night. Little does she know that months later that same stranger will save hers, too, in a completely different way. Amelia Price marries her high school sweetheart. He promises her the world, but his greed and selfishness overtakes him. Until one night when he nearly loses his life. You would think something so significant would change a man. But not every man is capable of change.

Dalton Ford is the CEO of the airline that his father once ran. He shares the responsibility of the airline with his four brothers. He never expects his life to change, but after helping to pull a man out of a wreckage during a powerful storm, it does, in ways he never dreamed. His life seems somehow twisted; something about his girlfriend doesn’t seem right, and it’s Amelia Price who opens his eyes to her strange behavior.

Amelia and Dalton become fast friends, trusting each other not to blur the lines of their friendship. But then Dalton learns that Amelia needs him in ways that she doesn’t even understand. Can he be there for her without altering their friendship? Can he help her see that her life hasn’t turned out the way that it should?

A powerful story about ageless, classic love, Slippery When Wet is a proven testament that love can come in all forms, sometimes from people that we would never have imagined, and in ways that we would never have thought possible. Pick up your copy today!

About the Author

Sandra has been writing poems and short stories since middle school, and writing full length, self-published novels since 2010, using several pen names.

Writing full-length steamy romance series has quickly become a love for this author. Her stories have elements of humor, family issues, suspense and personal growth. Her books take the reader right into the bedroom with the characters to feel the same intensity as the lovers do in the story. Sandra's goal is to have the reader rooting for the main couple...and she doesn't disappoint.

You'll find this author working out weekday mornings at ungodly hours. She's gluten and dairy free, and is probably the only person on earth who doesn't do coffee or chocolate.

Her favorite movie is Bohemian Rhapsody, her favorite tv shows are Friends and The Connors. She's also a die-hard Rocky fan and has read the Fifty Shades trilogy and watched the movies more times than she cares to admit.

Sandra is married with two daughters and is a lover of all things four-legged, including her own two furbabies.

The Ford Brothers series focuses on five swoon-worthy brothers who each served in the military, and lost their billionaire father suddenly, which left them to run his airline after his death. Each book features one brother, but they make appearances in all five novels. In case you haven't guessed, the titles in the Ford Brothers series have been inspired by hazard warning signs, an idea the author came up with after completing a health and safety course prior to starting the series.

The Miles for Love series is about unexpected love, and it features the Lynch family; four brothers and one sister, who are each passionate, imperfect, and are just like you and I...but way sexier and with much more interesting lives. They are very individual and each have a unique story to tell.

The Rock Star Romance series is inspired by the death of Eddie Van Halen on October 6, 2020. It is a standalone series unlike any other this author has written. Look for this series! It's available now!

Sandra Alex has written a very complex 5-star book. Amelia is married to Aaron when she meets Dalton at the site of Arron's car accident. Aaron is paralyzed and in a wheelchair. they move into Aaron's mothers' home because it is set up for a wheelchair. Aaron is looking into stem cell surgery for his back and he finds a doctor who is willing to do it. Amelia sees Dalton every day as she takes her walks and they form a friendship. Amelia becomes sick when Aaron goes in for his surgery. She was supposed to help Dalton and his brothers with a fundraiser and when she doesn't show up Dalton becomes worried and he goes and checks up on her. He finds her burning up with a fever and passed out. After she wakes up in the hospital, she asks to speak to the doctor about Aaron and she is told that he is not doing well, he has an infection and the medicine is not working. Dalton tells her that since she has been sick and still not well she can stay with him. She is at Dalton's when she gets the call telling her that Aaron has passed away. Dalton is there for her and as they spend more time together their feelings grow stronger.
Can Amelia get over the fact that she is older than Dalton and let her feelings grow for him?
Will Dalton convince Amelia that she is the one for him and that age makes no difference to him?

This was a really good story. When it comes to racey novels, the story can sometimes get lost in all the sex.

Dont get me wrong, if it's sex you are looking for this book has a lot of it but it doesn't supercede what is a very tender love story. A story of trust, betrayal and a love that will never end...

Aaron Price is the CEO of a huge packaging company. He has been getting pressure from environmental groups and his team has a big meeting coming up. They meet the night before to discuss it, and he stays afterward, drinking an entire bottle of vodka. His wife, Amelia, has been trying to reach him, but he doesn’t take calls and hasn’t checked her messages, which only state to call her. So as he finally heads home in the awful rain storm, Amelia calls him again. Since he is almost home, he wants to know what she wants now. Her news that his mother, whom he is close to, has died upsets him. His tires were slipping on the wet road, another vehicle came over the hill, and he lost control of his car.

Dalton Ford is the CEO of an airline that he and his brothers operate. On the night he helps to pull a man out of a wreckage during a powerful storm, his life is changed as it intersects with Amelia Price, the victim’s wife.

Amelia and Dalton become good friends. When Amelia’s husband dies from an infection complication related to his accident, Dalton is there for her. Will this change their friendship into something more?

Aaron and Amelia were high school sweethearts who married in college. But the spark is gone - she wants kids, he doesn't, and he spends all his time building and running his business. He has an accident, and is now paralyzed. Dalton and Kathy have been together for a few months. He's the CEO of his family's airline. She's newly divorced and a dermatologist. But she's not really either of those things, and her dishonesty has Dalton calling it quits on them. They all live in the same neighborhood. Amelia and Dalton become friends, initially because his dog is just too cute. When Aaron dies due to complications from surgery, Amelia's left all alone. With so much room in his big house, Dalton invites her to stay with him until she can figure out where her life is headed. This book is absolutely wonderful. When I ready the blurb, this looked like an interesting book. It is so much better than I expected. Dalton and Amelia have unbelievable chemistry, and although they're just friends, they are sizzling under the surface. It's just a beautiful story, I so enjoyed their journey to their happily ever after. This is my first read from this author, and I'm looking forward to more from her.

Spectacular! Sandra has outdone herself with this impressive approach spinning this intoxicating storyline and enticing plot, jetting this baby to the moon, binding this gem together seamlessly. Satisfaction is an understatement, this jewel comes completely loaded with so many swirling emotions and breathless moments that will make your head spin as you absorb the passion and wonder. A tumultuous whirlwind full of intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, displaying compelling twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. Twixt, twined and combined, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. Amelia is married to her high school sweetheart, but he’s not so sweet any longer. Aaron has turned into a CEO tyrant at his company, a closet alcoholic, and totally distant from his wife. Combine a half bottle of vodka with a rain storm, and he ends up as a paraplegic. This puts the end to Amelia’s dreams of becoming a mother. When they move into his deceased mother ‘s handicapped accessible home, Amelia continues taking power walks around the neighborhood meeting the neighbors and their dogs. She meets Dalton thru his dog and become fast friends who commiserate about their partners and their relationships. Then they discover that Dalton is the man who consoled her at the scene of her husband’s wreck.

When her husband has experimental surgery, Amelia becomes deathly ill, and is rescued from dying by Dalton’s concern that she he hasn’t contacted him. When Amelia’s husband dies from complications caused by his alcoholism, Dalton is there to console and help her make it through her despair. The reader follows the development of their relationship as Amelia tries to find her way through her new life.

Wow what a story it’s about Amelia who married her high school sweetheart Aaron but he cared more about his work than her, one night on his way home it was raining pretty hard and with too much alcohol in his system Aaron crashed his car and he ended up being a paraplegic they moved into his mother’s house because it was wheelchair accessible. Amelia still went for her walks where she meets her neighbour Dalton she doesn’t realise that he was the one who pulled her husband out of his mangled car and they become quick friends. Amelia’s husband was being operated on he found a doctor that would do it but there was complications and he passed away, Amelia couldn’t go to the hospital because she was sick with a fever plus she was supposed to help Dalton and when she didn’t turn up Dalton went looking for her and he finds her very ill so Dalton looks after her then Amelia gets the news that her husband has passed away and Dalton was there for her. I thought that this book was sad I cried for Amelia and her husband Aaron but I was also happy for Amelia and Dalton they were the perfect fit. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I enjoyed this new "Ford Brothers" story. Aaron and Amelia are high school sweethearts who marry in college. They have grown to want different things. He is all about business and she wants a family. A car accident should give a person a new perspective, but does it? She befriends Dalton who is there for her when she really needs someone. I love Dalton and Amelia! Great characters and what a story! This is a very well written and nicely developed story that I was completely glued to until the very end.

Amelia Price is lost and if not for the kindness of a stranger when her husband is in a terrible accident. They had married when they were young and he promised her the world all but the one thing she wants the most. While going for her evening walk Amelia meets her neighbor Dalton Ford. They become best friends and Amelia points out some problems with Dalton's girlfriend. And Dalton is there for Amelia when she needs him the most when she feels like her world is coming apart. And Dalton will do whatever it takes to help her get through it. This is a wonderful romance and shows that you can find friends in the most unlikely places. I look forward to more from this author.

I have never read a Sandra Alex story but when I saw the blurb for SLIPPERY WHEN WET, I knew I had to. It's a powerful and intricate story about life, love and the people that we let in our lives and how they imprint on us.

The writing is vivid, the characters are going to impact on you. The reason I love to read romance is because of stories like SLIPPERY WHEN WET. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

This story is so intense. I have cried at so many things that happen in the story. The love she feels for her husband, only to be pushed back into the background. Dealing with his paralysis, she is a lot stronger than many would be, especially with how he treats her. With dalton being a new friend, it’s good for her and helps her discover herself, but there’s feelings there she neater expected and doesn’t want to allow herself to feel. With everything that happens when she’s sick, I’m honestly surprised she pulled herself together, but again, if it wasn’t for dalton, she may not have.

I have enjoyed all the books in the Ford Brothers series so far, but this one just grabbed me. I was immediately pulled into the story with Amelia's tragedy and wasn't let go until the end. Dalton is such an amazing guy next door that one just can't help but falling in love with, and Amelia is such a strong person in the face of all the adversity she has to face. I would highly recommend this book!

This series is great but I do have to say that I personally love Dalton. His love for Amelia is breathtaking. He is there for her through the worst times of her life and through it all the best love either of them ever knew. Aaron did her wrong for so many years and Dalton showed her the right way to be loved and cherished. Yes it is a long book, but it is so worth the length. Sandra has so much detail she puts in her books that you are never kept questioning anything. I cant’t wait to read Jack’s book now.

I have enjoyed all of Sandra Alex previous books and this one was just as enjoyable, however i just felt the middle was drawn out a little too much for me. It just seemed to drag on where not much happens. This book makes you believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason in life and liked that. I liked the character of Amelia although personally i found it hard to relate to her given how her life was with her husband. I loved how understanding and caring Dalton was and really liked him and his brothers, especially the banter when they came together. I'm Glad they get their HEA and would go on to read more books from Sandra. Overall a nice sweet romance with some twists, however a bit of a slow burn, and i personally like a bit more action, twists and darkness with my stories. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Amelia is married to her high school sweetheart Aaron, but he’s grown distant and doesn’t want to give her a baby. He’s also a closet alcoholic and one rainy night goes off the road, becoming a paraplegic. One day when Amelia is power walking she meets Dalton and his dog Dasher and they are friendly together. At the time Dalton has a live-in girlfriend who has also become somewhat distant then he finds out she lied about being divorced and is still meeting up with her husband. He kicks her out. Later Aaron has stem cell surgery hoping to be able to walk again but hadn’t stopped drinking and ended up having seizures and dying. Dalton asks Amelia to come and stay in his house so he can help her out. The relationship is platonic but gradually they fall in love. Dalton is such a thoughtful and loving man and adores Amelia. They get married and are blissfully in love when Amelia finds out Aaron has a 12 year old love child, when she’s nearly 6 months pregnant. Although initially it’s a terrible blow to find out he had a child while denying her one, Dalton and Amelia decide to ask Daniel and his grandmother who raised him to come and live with them. This is a tender story and such a model of self-giving love. It was hard to put it down.
