Cyrus
Cyrus is a reformed bad boy and now, with his brothers, runs the Black bear Outlaws Security Company. He has loved Claire, the actual girl next door since he was a cub but he thinks she is waaaay above his level.
Claire has loved Cyrus since she was 5 but after loving him from afar, whilst he dated everything female but her, she stretched her winds and found another bad boy. Only this one was a REALLY bad boy and after that experience she now dates nice, safe (boring) men. But when her horrible ex rolls back into town claiming to be reformed and manages to convince the elder council to arrange a mating between him and Claire, Cyrus overhears this and comes to the rescue.
Wonderful story line, great characters, especially Cyrus who got me way hot under the collar!!!! They are a great match being equally clueless about each other wanting them!
Chase
Chase and his brothers run a security business. He met Katrina when she was on the run from her slimeball abusive ex. He didn't count on her being his mate. He knows she's unsure around men due to her ex and he's willing to take his time but after they have a passionate encounter and she runs off the next morning he's not sure what to think.
Katrina didn't mean to lead Chase on but her head is all over the place and she needs some distance to sort herself out. When she returns to town will Chase forgive her for running off? Will his decision be swayed by the secret she is keeping from him?
I loved the way Katrina scrapes her life together and forges a new independent life for herself. Chase is wonderfully cute as the bear shifter who is not quite sure what to make of his mates disappearing act. I loved the wallow-in-his-own-alcohol-riddled-meltdown scene with his brother!
Cole
Cole is the last of these hunky shifter bear brothers to find his mate. He was hired to protect actress (and bear shifter) Amberly. She was being stalked by an unknown quantity and he decided the best place to hide her out was at a distant relatives home that she had inherited in his hometown. He didn't expect to be drawn to her though. She is nothing like the high maintenance, prima donna he expected.
But when explosives are delivered to her new hideaway and only sheer luck protects her and Cole, she loses it! But with her rising star firmly shackled to a new movie, she learns that the production crew won;t wait for her and recast an up and comer in her role! She wants to head back to Hollywood but this stalker has other ideas!
She and Cole can feel the mate bond but Amberley is sure that she is way too much trouble. He lives in the boonies and she's a starlet. Their worlds don'y usually mix. There are great red herrings as to who the stalker is. The rapport between the leads is electric and I just wanted the book to be longer.
I really hope that we can see these characters again in another book - maybe babies of the bear shifters!

Lots of hotness and action in a box set
Cyrus - When 5 year old Claire laid eyes on 7 year old Cyrus, she just knew he was the one for her forever. Now as an adult she still has a crush, until she realizes that grown up bad boy Cyrus notices all the girls, but her. He never gave her the time of day even though they lived next door to each other, or so she thought! What was to come for Claire would turn her life upside down and Cyrus would be a part of it!
Chase - An easy job for the Black Bear Outlaws, extra security at Melinda's house in order to protect her friend Katrina from her soon to be ex.. Problem is can Chase be objective when it comes to being around Katrina and her beautiful blue eyes? Katrina just knows that Chase will rock her world for just one night, but turns out she will be the one rocking his world in a life altering way when she returns to Bayou Basin 6 weeks later.
Cole - Being body guard to a Hollywood star was not all that Cole thought it would be. There is someone out there threatening Amberly's life and Fate has something altogether different in mind for them and it's not a starring role in a movie!

I have fallen in love with the Black Bear Outlaws! Three brothers who overcame a dicey childhood and a life of crime, to turn their lives around and meet their mates! I really enjoyed the stories, they were quick reads with a nice story for each brother and his mate!
Cyrus has lived next door to Claire since he was a child. He steps in as her fake boyfriend to get rid of an unwanted ex, not expecting feeling to enter the mix. Can he protect her when the ex wants back in?
Chase is hired to protect Katrina from a drug smuggling ex-husband. After the best one night stand in history, she disappears from his life. Now she's back with a secret and an ex brother in law bugging her. Can he protect what is his, or will it be too late?

I have been provided with a review copy of Black Bear Outlaws Box Set: Books 1-3: Mating Fever from the author for an impartial review. This box set has the following titles Cyrus, Chase, and Cole. I’ll update my review as I finish each title.
Cyrus
This is the first book in the Black Bear Outlaws series and this was just a great way to start off a new series. I loved being transported into this new world with it’s new characters. It was just so easy to get lost in this story and I was just so disappointed to turn the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Glad I stumbled in this
So often even modern fiction displays strong females tripping on tree roots and needing rescued. Its nice to see the relationship between H and h so balanced with each supporting the other and not burdening each other. The story like we are somewhat predictable, if you read PNR you've read the plots dozens of times, but that's okay when you can actually like the characters. So many times I hate either or both of the domineering controlling H or the whiny doormat h. Nicely written work.

This story is about 3 brothers, Cyrus, Chase and Colt. Their father lead a shady life and recruited his sons to work for him. Luckily, they got out of the business before too much trouble found them.
Now, the brothers have their own security company, Black Bear Outlaws.
It's mating seasons, Cyrus lives next door to the girl that he's loved since he's 5. Chase starts a relationship with a newly divorced woman. Colt falls for a client who hires him as a body guard.

Awesome book set!!!!
I just love it when you get a whole set of books and they all tie into each other. I mean you could read each book on its own, but each one has a little bit about the other characters. Bear shifters are one of my favorite shifters so I really enjoyed reading this set.

The character interaction was well-written and the storylines were good. I was distracted by the use of "a swing of beer" instead of a "swig of beer" and using "to" instead of "too" to mean "also", but autocorrect can be that way.

Amazing Series
Black bears outlaws series is amazing. I am a first time reader for the author. The story line is smooth, fast-paced and exciting. Each story kept !y interest and I found myself cheering! I highly recommend this series.

Unbearably Amazing
Love love love the Doucet family! Characters and stories are well developed. There's just the right amount heat, humor, and a bit of intrigue/danger to keep you from putting these books down.

Interesting but too brief
Nice stories, but they felt more like novellas than fully fleshed novels. Time jumps, underwritten characters, and minimum plot. Pity, as Chase does a good job outlining the world of the BBOs. Do humans know about shifters? How does the idea of mates play out in the world? I'd give another book a try, to see if she can truly tell a solid story. But this series is just hints at an interesting mythology.
