An adorable Christmas romance! 🎄Sophie flies to NYC so she can experience Christmas New York City style with her boyfriend. Except the boyfriend dumps her by phone before she’s hardly unpacked. Enter Austen stage left.
Rock musician Austen is just looking for some companionship while his plane is grounded. But when he meets Sophie in the hotel bar he gets a lot more than just companionship. What he finds is love.
Very cute love story with great characters!

Unexpectedly Yours had three things that I love so much in it, Christmas, Beachwood Bay and it was by Melody Grace. This is the second Holiday novella by Melody and I loved it just as much as her first, Unwrapped.

Sophie Young has had her dream Christmas in her head for years. Christmas in New Yorker City, with the snow all around and her boyfriend to keep her warm. That dream is coming true this Christmas, except her loser boyfriend Matt ditches out on Sophie and their romantic trip, leaving Sophie alone in New York City over the Christmas holiday.

Sexy southern rock star guitarist Austen Kelly is looking forward to spending his Christmas alone, except maybe having a pretty little thing to keep him company. When Austin and Sophie’s paths cross in a hotel bar they decide to have some fun together. What should have been just one night of fun turns into more than both of them expected. Surrounded by the romance of Christmas in New York, sparks between Austin and Sophie heat up and fast.

I really couldn’t get enough of this book. I loved Austin and Sophie together, they had a fun playful relationship. Their banter back and forth had me laughing and the romantic things Austin would do for Sophie had me swooning. At the end of the novella we get a sneak peak of what is to come in Unwritten, Blake and Zoey’s story. I really hope Austin and Sophie show up in their story because I really wasn’t ready for their story to be over.

Let me just say, I have I missed the Beachwood Bay Series. It was so, so good to be back there again. Unexpectedly Yours was the perfect novella to get me into the Christmas spirit. Unexpectedly Yours was a quick and easy read that gave me everything that I have come to expect and love from Melody Grace.

I fell in love with the story and the characters from the first page. I couldn't read fast enough. If you're a Beachwood Bay fan like I am, then you understand why I was so greedy to keep reading. This series always gives me the perfect blend of romance and angst. And Melody Grace never disappoints. My only complaint was that I didn't want the story to end. I know this review is short, but this book speaks for itself. I loved it! Bottom Line: Christmas + Beachwood Bay = Super Happy Reader :-)

Christmas Bells are ringing and Sophie has planned her perfect holiday , growing up her favourite time of year has been Christmas and she has always dreamed of having a New York Christmas Experience. Sophie decides to plan a romantic time away for her and her boyfriend, though things don't always go to plan and Sophie finds herself possibly alone for Christmas. Austin - one of Dex Callahan's band members planned to head home for Christmas but due to flights being cancelled and nothing heading over to the Atlantic, he is stranded in New York, all by his lonesome. Hoping for some action , he calls the girls in his little black cellphone list but comes up empty-handed. That's when he spots Sophie and soon they click and he gives her the best couple of days she has ever had, the thing Austin likes too is the fact that she doesn't have a clue that he's a famous RockStar and likes him for him. What will happen though when their romantic fling is interrupted by Austin's past and Sophie runs away like Cinderella. A few weeks past and Austin and Sophie haven't been able to stop thinking about the other, but of course they never got last names. Now it's New Year's Eve and Dex is hosting a party at his place in Beachwood Bay and it's celebrations all around as Dex and Alicia get a lovely surprise , Sophie attends as she is Teagan's best friend - Dex's Sister and surprise - Austin arrives as he is Dex's band mate. Has love been given a second chance for Sophie and Austin ?
Find out in this lovely Christmas Story by Melody Grace, and if you have not yet read any of the other Beachwood Bay stories, then what are you waiting for.

Another great read by Melody Grace - this one was short and sweet, hot and spicy, and everything in between! Even though this one is just a novella, there is the right mix of everything in it to give you a full story – angst, romance, sexy times, sweet times, and of course a trip to Beachwood Bay.

I really loved Sophie and Austin together, and although I’m not normally a fan of “insta-love”, there was something about these two that drew me in and had me rooting for them right from the start. From the first time Sophie laughs in Austin’s face at the hotel bar, I just knew I was going to love everything about Sophie. And Austin was so perfect for her in every way.

It was fun to end up back in Beachwood Bay and check in on some old friends, and once again we get a glimpse into what’s up next...and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! This was a fun read that provided just enough of a Beachwood Bay fix to hold me over for the next book.

So once again Melody Grace has wrote another awesome story. First let me say I am in love with the beach wood bay series and am so glad the books keep coming. Also Austin is a total babe ( at least in my mind) and who doesn't love New York at Christmas time. Of course in true Melody Grace fashion she leaves us hanging but in a good way because we all know the next book will be just as good and will let us know what Sophie and Austin are up to. I can't wait for Blake and Zoey's story. I love this book because who doesn't want to believe that when you find the right one you just know right from the word go and also who does not want to believe in fate........pick this one up for sure......ITS A MUST READ......this whole series is.

I enjoyed this immensely. I started the sample because I'm drawn to Christmas novellas right now and I love new adult. This seamed to tick both boxes.

I finished the sample and just knew I had to go ahead and download the whole book. I started over and finished it in a couple of hours.

I am throughly looking forward to the next book about the couple at the end of this story and will be reading Melody's earlier work.

It's stated that all these books can be read standalone but I just love books that have characters that entwine.

A 100 page novella and I'm already hooked on Melody's writing!

I broke my own rule when I read Unexpectedly Yours. Come to think of it, I did the same thing last year when I read Unwrapped, so it must be only for Melody that I will do this. As a general rule, I avoid holiday-themed books. I'm such a Scrooge. They just don't do anything for me. But, these books in the Beachwood Bay series seem to be my exception. Because, I loved this quickie novella.

Sophie, not having grown up in a home where the holidays were special, has her ideal of the perfect Christmas in her head. When that dream is destroyed on Christmas Eve, Austin makes it his personal mission to make it up to her. That doesn't make any sense to him, since he's definitely a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy. But, there's something about Sophie that just gets to him.

I loved absolutely everything about this book. It has everything I've come to expect from Melody Grace. There's a guy and a girl who, at first glance, don't appear to have anything in common. Unforeseen circumstances cause them to be thrust together, and they find so many wonderful things to love in each other. There's lots of steamy, sexy scenes and a deliciously wonderful ending. Just because this book is a third the length of her regular books doesn't mean it packs any less of a punch.

At first, I didn't care much for Austin. He was an elitist jerk who goes through women like he does tissues. But, when all his usual booty calls abandon him on Christmas Eve, he tries to use his usual lines on Sophie in the bar of their hotel. Her boyfriend has dumped her, and she's feeling a bit raw. I LOVED that she actually laughed in Austin's face when he hit on her. That was awesome. And, it broke through Austin's usually icy heart too.

He makes it his mission to make Sophie's perfect Christmas happen for her, in spite of her douchey ex flaking on her. And, the things he does - OMG. I never had him pegged as the romantic, thoughtful type. But, wow. The lengths he goes to to make Sophie's Christmas perfect made me love him. HARD.

Except, Austin fails to tell Sophie that he's in a world-famous rock band and filthy rich. And, when a misunderstanding sends her to Beachwood Bay to seek solace with her BFF, Teagan, she thinks her New Years is sunk. But, Austin finds a way to make that holiday perfect too.

This 100-page novella packs a powerful punch. Not only do you get a whole story that is sure to make you swoon, but you also get to catch up with your favorite Callahans - Dex and Teagan. AND, there's a great set-up at the very end for the next full-length book, which will be about Blake and Zoey. I can't wait!

Serendpity: (happy) chance, (happy) accident, fluke; luck, good luck, good fortune, fortuity, providence; happy coincidence.

Christmas for Sophie Young has never been anything special. Since her parents' divorce when she was young, it's been a series of rushed visits and fights over who got her for which holiday. So when Sophie has the chance to plan the perfect Christmas getaway to New York City with her boyfriend, she goes all in, planning it down to the very last detail. But when fate steps in and delivers an unhappy surprise, things aren't looking quite so magical.

Austin Kelly, on a break from recording his first solo album, thinks that the holidays are nothing but a bunch of humbug, outdated traditions and rushing around that leave everyone feeling frazzled and empty. When things go awry, and his flight to join his family for Christmas is canceled, Austin is relieved, deciding that a hotel room, a bottle of something strong, and one of his many female admirers is a much better way to spend his time.

I am a sucker for Melody Grace's books, so when I saw that she had written a holiday novella featuring characters related to the ones in her BEACHWOOD BAY series, I was over the moon. I love these books, and everyone in them; add to that the fact that Melody writes hot and sexy romance like nobody's business, and it's a win-win for me. This story had me from the beginning. Sophie is likeable, an independent spitfire determined to enjoy Christmas even though her jerk of a now-ex has thrown a real wrench into her plans. She is down-to-earth, and has Austin's number from the minute he turns on the charm and attempts to add her to his list of conquests. Her refusal to fall for his line makes Sophie even more attractive to Austin, and the two quickly find that the best laid plans can take a happy turn when they let go and stop trying to control the way things turn out. I absolutely recommend this book, and give it five romantic, sexy, heartwarming stars; if it doesn't get you in the holiday spirit, then nothing will.

I loved Melody Grace. Someday I want to meet her and hug her... hard! She doesn't write anything that I don't fall in love with. Unexpectedly Yours is amazing. It will put you in the holiday spirit!

Sophie Young kinda loves Christmas. Being from California, she hasn't really experienced a true Christmas. When she was young, her Christmases weren't fun wither. Divorced parents can put a damper on holidays. Now that she is an adult, she is gonna make it the BEST Christmas ever! Her and her boyfriend plan to spend the holidays in NYC. The only problem is when she gets there, he calls and breaks up with her. For a spilt second she has a pity party, and then moves on to do what she planned to do. Sophie is going to have the best Christmas ever, with or without him.

Austin Kelly is a rock start used to getting his way. Girls fall at his feet. He is stuck in NYC and can't spend the holidays with family in London. Unlike Sophie, he could not care less about being alone in a hotel. All he wants to do is rest and relax. That is, until he meets Sophie. Their first encounter starts them off on the right foot. Sophie has no idea who he is. She puts him right in his place from the start.

Once these 2 start to do things Sophie wants to check off her list, sparks fly. As a reader, I fell in love with the falling in love. The secondary character is this book HAD to be NYC at Christmastime. If you have never experienced it, you need too. It is such a romantic and beautiful place. It is a great backdrop for a love story!

The whole story gave me warm and fuzzy feelings. I only wish this story was longer. I loved Austin and need more of him!!!

This is a quick, fun, seasonal novella with a touch of sizzle!

Sophie, after much planning and full of romantic notions is in New York for Christmas with her boyfriend. Austin is stuck in New York due to bad weather cancelling his plans to spend it with his family - he breathes a huge sigh of relief!! Only things don't turn out as expected..... she never dreams of being stood up and he can't find an available date in his little black book....so either it's fate, serendipity or an inexplicable temporary deviation in the space-time continuum....they meet, take a chance and BOOM!

Austin is confident and cocky rockstar - full of one-liners and self assured swagger of someone in this lofty position.....using his charm to great effect Sophie however, does not recognise him or gives him credit for the one-liners, she has no problem with putting him in his place, a refreshing change for Austin. But, she does have an insecure side, which Austin *helps* with!! The bubble is burst though and because of a blip draped all over the sofa in a silk dressing gown....there is a misunderstanding and she runs.....to Beachwood Bay for New Year.

So, I go back to it's fate, serendipity or an inexplicable temporary deviation in the space-time continuum....they meet, take a chance and BOOM!

It was fab to catch up with the characters from Beachwood Bay/Callahan's series and we are left with an HEA, but there are questions hanging for the next book.....!!! Fab read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

The perfect Christmas…..it’s what Sophie dreams of having. This year promises to be the BEST Christmas Sophie has ever had. She has planned out a trip to New York City with her boyfriend to celebrate the holidays. What she never expected was to have her boyfriend become a no-show. To add insult to injury, he breaks up with Sophie. Crushing her plans for the holidays.

Rocker Austin Kelly finds himself stranded in NYC due to weather. Unable to make the trip to London to be with his family for the holidays, Austin wants to use the time to relax and have a little fun. With no prospects from his ‘little black book’ to spend the holidays with, Austin soon crosses paths with Sophie. Stunned and excited that Sophie has no idea who he is, Austin sets out to make Sophie’s perfect Christmas a reality. However, a misunderstanding leaves Sophie tucking her tail and running. Will fate bring them together? Was the fairytale too good to be true?

What a ‘jam packed’ holiday story. I loved the setting, characters, and romance that overflowed from this book! The way that Austin tried to make all of Sophie’s dreams come true will leave you with a smile on your face and love in your heart.

~~I received this in exchange for an honest review~~

How much do I love reading Melody Grace??? Well, her writing always keeps my interest. She has a way with her books that not only keeps the reader interested in her work, but she keeps the books that she writes true to their form. Every book that I have read by Melody is fantastic. There is always something in the book that is a twist, and this story is no different.

Sophie's dream is to have the ultimate Christmas experience. The snow, ice skating, making Christmas cookies with classic Christmas songs are being played, Hot Chocolate etc... But the problem is, the person that she thinks she wants to share it with just took her heart and smashed it.

Adam wants to sleep all day long, stay out all night and sleep with girls. That is, until he sees the beautiful Sophie sitting at the bar. His mission now, is to get the girl. But, will it be all holly jolly at the end of the day?

Christmas books are the best! It is like watching a Hallmark movie in my head (yes, I know, Hallmark??!?!?!) Melody's books are wonderful. She always knows how to make a readers blood either boil, or heat up under extreme conditions. You are missing out if you haven't read her books yet!!

After being left stranded in New York City by her now ex-boyfriend, Sophie is depressed. She takes up the proposition for dinner from a stranger at the bar of the hotel, and Serendipity has a field day with them.

Remember the Serendipity movie? Call Fate or whatever you want, some people are meant to cross each others paths and pay attention to their emotions. Their attraction is instant; they feel safe and comfortable; and their chemistry is tangible. Even a playboy rock star like Austin Young cannot help but do a double take and open his eyes to the possibilities.

These two characters are adorable together. Sophie is willing to spread her wings and take a chance. Austin just lets his down to earth and mischievous side be relaxed. Sophie does not realize he is a famous musician and he loves it. For the first time he can be himself without worrying if she only wants to be with him for his fame and money.

This is a great love story just in time for Christmas. This is the time of year where even the most skeptical of us believes in miracles and that unerring Cupid's bow.

Nothing unexpected here......Another wonderful novel from Melody Grace that has us revisiting old friends in Beachwood Bay.

I think I liked Austin right from the start. I mean what kind of rockstar doesn't have 100+ women in their cellphone. Why wouldn't he try to score with the damsel in distress?

I saw Sophie's emotional turmoil coming...starting with the separate flights. But when you are in love you have blinders on and just take everything in stride. But no one deserves to be ditched for the Christmas holiday.

Austin and Sophie start out as just a means to an end...no one wants to spend the holidays alone, but when Austin finds himself really listening to Sophie's holiday dreams he knows he's in way over his head. Can Sophie let someone in again after being hurt?

Now this is a novella so it was a quick paced story spanning between Christmas and New Years. Read it in one sitting but not surprised because I usually can't put a Melody Grace book down once I start it. If you are looking for a feel good holiday novella, go pick this up and meet Austin and Sophie.

I'm going to let you in on a (not so secret) secret. I'm sappy! I love romance, happily ever afters, puppies, kitties, hot cocoa, warm fuzzies, etc. AND, I love Christmas. As a natural result of this combo, I'm a total sucker for the Hallmark Channel, particularly the Christmas movies. I love them! I have seen most of them, several times. Unexpectedly Yours is like a sexed-up-Hallmark-Movie in book form. AND, I totally mean that as a compliment! <3

Sophie is sweet and slightly damaged with big dreams and expectations for a perfect Christmas in New York City. Austin is a rockstar on holiday looking for a little R&R who finds more than he ever expected in sweet, sincere and suddenly available Sophie. When they're together, Sophie can embrace a carefree spirit she rarely shows and Austin wants to make all of her holiday dreams come true. Can they last through Christmas, what about beyond?

It’s romantic and steamy and flirts with happily ever after. Unexpectedly Yours is a fun little story that's perfect for the season and worth a couple of hours on the couch, by the fire, wrapped in your favorite blanket with a cup of cocoa!

I love this holiday Novela by Melody Grace. This is a quick fun and flirty read that has all the steam and passion you come to expect from Melody Grace.
Sophie is in New York for the holiday vacation of her dreams with her boyfriend. Only things don't turn out as she expected. She never dreamed of being stood up and alone on Christmas.
Austin is stuck in New York and that is okay with him. Holidays really aren't this musicians thing. He will just enjoy his time and hook up with one of his many women who seem to fall over him. However, he strikes out, not able to connect with anyone. Austin isn't bothered when he sees a beautiful auburn haired woman at the hotel bar.
Austin and Sophie have instant chemistry, but his usual lines don't work on her. She is witty and puts him in his place. She doesn't seem to realize who he is and this make him want her even more.
Circumstances bring these two together and they are great together. Will the past get in the way of their unexpected romance? You have got to see what happens with these two.

My Rating:

Favorite Quotes:

“The only normal people are the ones trying really, really hard to hide their weirdness.”

“Call a man magnificent, or strong, or the best lay you’ve ever had, but for God’s sake never call him nice.”

“Everything about her is different and new to me: she’s thoughtful and flirty, innocent and self-assured. A tangle of contradictions, bound up in one sexy package. I want to know everything about her, unravel those secrets until I know her by heart.”

“I just know, the minute I thought I’d lost you… It made me realize you’re the only one I want.”

My Review:

Melody Grace is one of my favorite authors. Period. Her stories are well written, have likeable yet complicated characters, and are full of steam. I typically finish her stories with a satisfied sigh and a wish that it lasted just a little bit longer, however this little novella was just right. Much like Goldilocks finding Baby Bears bed. Sophie and Austin clicked at just the right time, had a hiccup, and then found each other again. Sigh. I love a HEA!

Unexpectedly Yours is a beautiful love story about two people who had different views on what Christmas is all about. Sophie was all about Christmas and planed an amazing trip for her and her boyfriend in New York. Something that she has always wanted to do. She meets Austin the rock star by chance but has no clue who he is other than the guy hitting her in the bar where she is waiting for the boyfriend. Austin is not a fan of Christmas and is glad that he was stuck in New York. When he see's Sophie he is enamered with her and can't help but want her. However she is with someone else. Of course Sophie get's the surprise of her life when the boyfriend decides to dump her while she's waiting for him. But don't fret because Austin is there to make sure she smiles and has fun. This story is about them spending Christmas to the fullest. Sophie tries to convince Austin that Christmas is a wonderful holiday. Can she accomplish that? Or will they have some fun at the bar and be done. This is really cute book and I loved it. Not to mention it's hotness is out of this world.

There is simply nothing like Christmas in New York City. I have experienced it for many years and each time I go into the city it is like the first time. Because of this, I was extra excited to read Melody Grace's new book Unexpectedly Yours.

I had so much fun reading this book. From the Sophie’s first arrival in New York to her first encounter with Austin at the hotel to gay bar that she drags him to, this book just made me smile. Of course, as in any good romance, nothing was perfect and there were ups and downs, but I think any reader will enjoy this holiday love story.

With a bit of humor, a touch of romance, some New York Christmas magic, and a little pop of red, this is a great Christmas story for any Romance lover. Even the most jaded New Yorker, would smile during this holiday read.

Oh what fun this book was! Even the most jaded New Yorker, would smile during this holiday read.

This is why Melody Grace is in my Top 5 Authors. She can take 2 characters and make you fall so helplessly in love with them in the first few pages, it's sick. I love - no, I adore this series. Beachwood Bay will always be one of my faves, and this is why:

Incredible chemistry, steamy sex, just enough drama, all wrapped up in a pretty little bow.

Austin we met briefly in Dex's book, and Sophie is friends with Tegan. They prove that it's a small world when they randomly meet in NYC. And by random, I mean Austin tries hitting on Sophie and she laughs in his face. Best. Part. Ever.

Their passion and chemistry is undeniable. I rooted for them on page 1. This is a wonderful little holiday novella with that feel-good HEA.

Melody Grace has done it again! At this point I can't say I am surprised and have come to expect nothing short of excellence when I start her books, no matter the length. This novella only left me wanting one thing- for it to be longer! I love how Rocker Austin hasn't let fame go to his head, which shows in his Southern charm and sex appeal. I LOVED how for once the heartbroken heroine doesn't sit around pining the end of a relationship with an ass too. Instead of crying over Matt, Sophie takes a chance with Austin and the results surprise.

And that teaser at the end? Let's just say I am waiting for "Unwritten" so I can dive into Blake and Zoey :)

I love this series of books. Just when I think Melody can't make the next book any better, she dose. These books can be read as stand alone books, but there are little tidbits from previous books that can spoil the outcome for the first book. I suggest you get them all they are that good. Melody Grace writes with so much passion you can see it in her books. At times I find myself so absorbed that time seems to pass by. She just pulls you into the little world she's created, and you don't want to leave when the book ends. But this book has a secret at the end. A glimpse into her next book and it is a juicy one, you will just have to read it to find out.

This was such a sweet story, perfect for this time of year! I fell in love with Austin and Sophie right from the start and instantly wanted them to get the happily ever after already! They were just perfect together, even when they thought it was all just for fun. But things have a way of working out for the best and it sure did with these two. I just really enjoyed the way their love story played out; it read just like a classic Christmas movie, which I'm rather partial to, and I could just see it playing on the Hallmark channel this time of year. It was sweet, light, not so heavy on the drama - sigh-worthy. Like I said, the perfect read for this time of year.

First I love the fact that Austin is a rock star that isn't a complete an total jerk.
And Sophie not letting her ex dictate her holiday as well as how she took a chance, lived a little, took chances normally wouldn't.
Unexpectedly yours is a cute quick read about an coincidental meeting that leads to more than a one night stand.
I enjoyed both characters and getting a peek at the others in this series.
I haven't read the entire Beachwood Bay series but now I have to get them all and start at the beginning, if the novella is this good I can't wait to get to the full length books!
