The big, bad wolf meets his match in this pint-sized assassin…
When the angel of the Omega Assassins Club, River, is given a second chance on his latest mission, he swears this time, he’ll put that bullet where it belongs, right between the eyes of the hitman who nearly killed his packmate.
Known only as Behemoth, the hulking alpha hitman is feared due to his humongous bulk, but he’s not all talk. He’s a ruthless warrior who sold his soul long ago and has spent every moment since then earning his nightmarish reputation. So, when he catches the tiny omega trying to put an end to him, he should have no problem repaying the favor.
River’s inability to kill the alpha a second time forces him to believe there must be more to the man of legends beyond the way he makes River feel warm all over. How can he feel safety in arms that have done so much evil? Behemoth’s sole goal in life has been to protect his younger brother but the things he’s done to ensure a safe future have convinced him that he is a monster—only River can see through to the good man within.
But, Behemoth made his deal with the devil and now, the devil wants his due. All he has to do his hand over his angel.
Behemoth is the third book in the Omega Assassins Club. It is packed with action but with the same spice, humor, and heart. A swoon-worthy HEA is guaranteed! Other books in the Omega Assassins Club include: Fervor Quench
River is an assassin. He's also an omega and part of the OAC, the Omega Assassins Club. Omegas are tired of being treated less than and are taking out all the bad alphas they can to help other omegas who can't fight back. River's next assignment is the man they call Behemoth. He's huge and he's Valdala's lackey who has already hurt River's friend so it's time to end him. But something keeps River from pulling the trigger.
Behemoth isn't what he appears to be and he's got someone near and dear he's trying to protect. He's done a lot of bad things in his life but he'll do whatever he has to to keep them safe and he's not going to let River get in his way. Or will he?
I'm not a huge fan of enemies to lovers but color me surprised when this one grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I loved these two so much. And while they both resisted thinking they couldn't have the other, it wasn't enough to get on my nerves. It had it's sweet moments and definitely some hot ones. I really enjoyed it. Though it's part of a series, I didn't read any of the other books and didn't feel lost. There's mention of other characters but not enough you are scratching your head to figure out who's who.
Quite a rollercoaster! Yes! A story just how I like them. A bit gritty, lots of restraint feelings and a whole lot of tension. Alpha’s, omega’s, scent, mates, fate, all the things a love so much in a story. Excitement, action, steamy sexiness, hate and love. River, a tiny (spitfire) omega has to kill the enormous, dangerous alpha Behemoth, only he can’t. Every time he tries he just can’t, with the results that River is now kept in a cage by Behemoth. Behemoth works for a powerful man who keeps his brother safe. It seems the big alpha has a small and kind heart for the ones he loves.
The story was entertaining and I loved the characters, the hate-love between River and Behemoth was delicious. The background story about their past was well put together. The action was really smashing done, I sat on the edge of my chair! The whole story had a dangerous atmosphere, with a lot of sexual tension, I read it in one breath!
Well, this took a turn I NEVER saw coming. I should have known after how book 2 kind of left things off with a certain situation, but it still shocked me that it turned out this way. And with River. And you need to read book 2 to find out what happens first, if you haven’t already. River was sent to take out a target called Behemoth. Behemoth had tried to kill Van, and River was going to make things right. But when it came to actually doing the shooting, he couldn’t do it. And Behemoth got the drop on him. Now a prisoner of the man’s, River is doing all he can to break free and does several times, until he gets literally chained to the man. But as they are stuck together, River is learning Behemoth isn’t the monster he claims to be. Yes, he may have done bad things, but then so has River. And most of what Behemoth has done, has been in order to keep his brother safe. But the man Behemoth worked for, has changed the rules of the game. There’s a whole lot more at stake with Behemoth’s brother and now River as well. And in order to be free, Behemoth plans to put his life on the life, but River knows it won’t help and refuses to let him do it. But with all the alphas trying to kill them, will they all make it out alive? I never expected when River went after Behemoth, that it would turn into something else. I should have expected it. I really should have lol. But with Van’s life almost snuffed out, I figured that wouldn’t have changed anything. But that didn’t change a thing. River kept trying to do what he was supposed to do but just couldn’t. Then it got turned around on him. But that was actually funny. Behemoth kind of knew what he was dealing with with River, but he never knew to the extent, until he saw it later firsthand. But even before that, he knew River would be dangerous for him. But it was funny the way they bounced off each other. It was like a one-up type of thing. It really was funny. But I really like Behemoth. Even when he tried to kill Van, it wasn’t personal, it was a job. Maybe not with the best company…..but a job none the less. And after the way he was raised, he thought himself a monster. His past wasn’t the worst, but it wasn’t the greatest either. It was odd and it left him off. So he did what he thought he was. But what I love about River, is that River shows him how he sees Behemoth in his eyes. Not as a monster, but as a protector and someone loveable. I’m ready for the next one. Between Nolan and Zeb, I don’t know who I want to see get taken in by an alpha more. They both need someone to change their thinking and ways of life. Not with the assassin’s guild but as life in general. All these omegas have not had it easy, but they are proving that omegas should not be taken for granted the way they have been. The omegas are just as important and deserve rights as much as everyone else. And I’m ecstatic to see this series where they are taking it back. One alpha at a time.
Although I haven’t really had any luck with this author previously, I actually enjoyed this one. Some areas were a little cheesy but really I didn’t care.. I love the size difference trope and the assassin trope.
I didn’t realize this was #3 in the series when I snagged it but the blurb spoke to me so I had to read it. Now I’ll probably snag the first and see where it gets me.
****************************************************** I haven’t had luck with this author but it’s like I can’t say no this one...
this was amazing.. and perfect.. it was dark and happy.. it was anger and love.. it was action packed and violent along with love and i freakin love how the omegas are.. they are strong.. they are together.. they are perfect.. it is amazing.
IMHO, this fantastic, hilarious, amazing, interesting, riveting, sexy, and totally awesome twist on the Beauty and the Beast fairytale is the best one yet.
I always love it when those that are perceived as the weak, those that only need protection, show everyone how incredibly bad-A they really are. In this case, River is one of the best. Not only is he stellar at his job, well, at least until he chooses Behemoth as a target, but he's honest with himself and knows what he's about. That knowledge and determination and skill give him an inner strength that so many people lack.
And there's another special place in my heart for the big men that have only a desire to love and protect. Sure, he might be a cold-blooded assassin, but that doesn't mean there isn't a heart buried down in there somewhere. Behemoth's strength comes from his desire to put family above himself. And River too. When we finally get to see inside his great big heart there's no going back. From the first moment I glimpsed more I knew he'd be perfect.
The connection between Behemoth and River begins with a more antagonistic side before it morphs into something infinitely dear. I liked their banter, their confusion, and their boldness. Combine that with some scorching chemistry and a whole lot of tender feels and you've pretty much got my favorite combination. But I think it's the trust they have in one another that really sells me on them together. Yes, Behemoth has a moment where he believes self-sacrifice and a little "bondage" is the right way to go, but once he realizes their futility he trusts River to be his bad-A self.
The relationship progressed well with very little angst and a whole lot of banked passion until one confrontation let it all out. From that moment on it was clear to River that they were meant for one another. I liked the clear road in his mind, that no matter the obstacle, he was in it for the long haul. The drama that brought them together and gave them the most grief was pretty linear in that it made sense and flowed well. While the villain was a bit cliche in their insanity and their accomplices, it wasn't less interesting because of it, it was just an obvious plot point that was well-written and worked for the story and the characters.
When the dust settles it's clear that there is more for them than just their jobs up to this point. Together they have a family both in the OAC and in the little one they create. Their world is one that I'd be interested in reading more of. I didn't know about this series before this book and I'll definitely be looking into it.
An excellent addiction to the “Assassins Club Series” & I truly enjoyed reading this absolutely enthralling MM/Mpreg romance with an “enemies to lovers” undertone. The plot is unique, well-paced & full of intriguing situations. There is good scene descriptions & world building. I particularly enjoyed the way the author portrayed the characters as being strong-willed individuals with a variety of traits who have the inclination to be devious and/or dangerous at times but are still realistic with their emotional feelings & expectations. There are some character crossovers from the previous book but this book can be read as a standalone. There is: a omega assassin (River) is sent to take to eliminate an alpha assassin (Behemoth) but for rhyme or reason just cannot complete the assignment meanwhile Behemoth is convinced that he is unlovable & fit to be in a relationship but then the attractions flare, Behemoth’s younger brother (Peppa) & his apparent Alpha (Harvey), a Omega Assassin Club, a Alphas First Organization, shifters, assassins, omegas, alphas, missions, targets, humor, twists & turns, suspense, intrigue, secrets, mystery, action, adventure, abduction, danger, threats, enemies, violence, deceit, betrayal, strange attractions, memories, escape attempts, verbal disagreements, admittance, manipulations, protectiveness, discovery, anger, vengeful feelings, decisions, unexpected surprises, confrontations, heat issues, complications, mates, love, happiness, some steam & a beautiful happy ending. I look forward to future books from this talented author & would recommend this book.
A hulking beast of a man with a big secret and a gorgeous omega assassin? What a match!
What a rush! I loved this book. I did not want to put it down. It grabbed me from the first pages and wouldn't let me go. Welcome back to the world of the OAC. Our old friends are back; fighting to protect omegas in a world that constantly takes away their rights. When Alphas cross the line, abusing omegas, abusing their power, OAC is an omega's last, best line of defense. You will meet new enemies. There is betrayal, loyalty, courage, passion, unexpected love, and mpreg. You will love this book! This book is Behemoth and River's story. Behemoth works for an evil man, trying to keep his omega brother safe. He never expects to fall for the petite, pretty omega sent to kill him. River is good at what he does. But he can't kill his target; his wolf protests, telling him: No! Captured, River comes to see the softer side of Behemoth. The side that shows River his captor is a good man. Falling for him is as unexpected as it is inevitable. Follow these two men as they explore each other and the possibilities open to them. You will be drawn into their journey. You will care about them, sharing their hopes, fears, sorrows, and joys. Yes, there is violence and death. There is is steamy sex. There is also compassion, hidden strength, and love. And most of all, there is HEA. You need to get this book! This book can be read alone, but I recommend reading the first two books as well. You will be glad you did. This book contains adult themes and language, violence, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
4.5 Stars It's being called a Monster when you believe you might be one. It really hit home when the person doing the name calling is hitting a bull's-eye each time because you two are so much alike. Like attracts like. It doesn't mean names used in anger don't hurt even more coming from someone with whom a bond has begun to form. No matter how ridiculous a concept that is for frienemies.
The introspection of one's heart and evidence makes the final determination. Is the Monster the size of a man or the collection of vicious deeds done? Can those malicious deeds be offset by the sacrifices and deeds done for the good of a loved one? It seems that Monsters come in all shapes and sizes with masks innocence.
When suspicion and instincts have kept you alive - how can you still function at the top of your game with the complication of love? What about when your friends hate him and his friends? How do you go from enemies to lovers? How is trust gained and maintained in the dangerous world of Omega Assassins versus Adversarial Alphas? I thoroughly enjoyed this third book and the Omega Assassin's Club series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I liked how as Behemoth aka Donovan and River spent more time together the more they both opened up about their lives prior to meeting and begin to trust each other, and for two people who are in their line of work this is a massive thing. I loved River and Pepper’s friendship and that they’d totally gang up on Donovan and I loved at the end when Pepper started to forge his own life on his own time and eventually help other Omegas in need, it was great to see the growth Donovan made throughout this book with River’s help, he was totally okay with Pepper leaving his protection to go to Lazy Bend. I loved how River wasn’t afraid to go up against Donovan especially when Harvey, Pepper’s Alpha showed up and Donovan tried to k*ll him. River is a complete bada*se made even more awesome because of his tiny size. Man I’m looking forward to reading Nolan’s book, as I really want to find out why he hates Alphas so much, enough to give Van, River & Pepper a necklace that would make their kids Omegas. His book will be interesting to say the least. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Behemoth by author Kiki Burrelli is the third book in the Omega Assassin’s Club series. This is the first time I have read this series and I was not lost at all starting with this book. This book is written in dual pov, I love that. It allows me to get into both character’s minds and really get to what they are feeling about things. River is an Omega Assassin. He is tracking a man he thinks is his target. He has been putting off killing him because something seems off. He cannot bring himself to finish this job till he is sure he has the right guy. Behemoth has taken this job because he wants to give his brother a better life. He knows he is working for a bad man, but he also knows his brother’s wellbeing depends on him bringing in money. I liked these two together. They are both smart, deadly, and good men at heart. This book had lots of action and adventure. I loved it. I cannot wait for more from this series in the future. I wanna see more assassins and the men they love.
Engaging story with action, intrigue and lots of heart. This was a fun enemies to lovers story-line with well done characters and a cast of associates that we have grown to know and love. This story occurs in an A/O/B Mpreg universe and it offers a good plot and lots of love and romance. The story flowed well and i found i was engaged and reading to the last page with interest.
River and Behemoth are steamy, connected and just really good characters. I enjoyed their banter and their confusion about each other. Their drive to protect those they love is compelling and so understandable.
This is book three in the Omega Assassins Club series and can be read as a stand-alone story. I would recommend reading the first two books because the are good and they give you an understanding of this group and the men that are working together.
I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
River is ready to try again and deal with the alpha who hurt his teammate. Yet when the tine comes River does something else. Behemoth never imagines that there was someone out there that would care enough to want something other than his muscles from him let alone someone as special as River. Can these two find a way to happiness or is it forever out of their reach?
I loved River and Behemoth's story. Once their paths crossed there was no going back. Watching the way their relationship grows makes for a good story. River proves to Behemoth that he is worth so much more than he thinks and Behemoth shows just what kind of man he truly is. This is a wonderful addition to the series . I love the world and the characters that the author has created. Every new story brings readers a group of men that are family and have you hoping for love to find its way.
I am really enjoying this series. In this world, Omegas are powerless, legally and socially. And it is getting worse. This is where the Omega Assasins Club comes in. The powerless are trained to take out the bad guys. But bad is relative, as River learns.
River was supposed to shoot Behemoth, but missed. So he goes in a mission to do it and gets captured instead. And OMG the Why of why Behemoth works for the kingpin Valdala is cringeworthy. I saw it coming and understand and felt like I walked through the journey with Behemoth. Honestly? I felt like this was more about Behemoth’s journey and acceptance rather than River’s and that was good.
Twists and suspense and lots of hot scenes pepper this story. I won’t say this is dark or even gritty. It is closer to PG-13, well except for the sex. 😉 This is the best one in the series so far.
Behemoth is the third book in the Omega Assassins Club series by Kiki Burrelli. It's an action packed, violent, steamy, funny and absolutely addictive series and this book is no exception. This book sucks you right into its gritty world and holds you captive with a well written, unique and fascinating story and with characters that are captivating, special and intriguing. These omegas are capable, protective and strong... they can take down alphas and save other omegas... but love is showing them there is also more to life. River and behemoth are perfect together and I truly enjoyed their story.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
I loved Kiki Burrelli's OAC series, so, when I received this book as an ARC, I was sure I was going to love it. However, as I started reading it, I was trapped by the plot. Full of action, danger and a tug of war game between River and Behemoth, the story took you slowly from enemies to lovers to fated mates. From the overprotective alpha to accepting River as his equal partner. How Peppa, flourished from the naive, sheltered little brother to an omega determined to help other omegas. Wonderful characters, great story and well deserved HEA. The best in the series so far…!! And don’t forget to check out the bonus scene at the end of the book... I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion. This series has been on my radar for a little while and when the opportunity to review it came up, I thought he's please! It's book 3 in the series but can be read as a standalone as the story was easy to follow. River and behemoth were just such great characters plus the secondary ones which were well fleshed out and incorporated into the story. I liked that they initially went from enemies, to friends/fated mates. It had suspense, action and a hint of danger to make it exciting. I just wanted more of their story to continue and will be eagerly waiting for the next.
This book was everything. I had read the other two books in this series, and enjoyed them very much, but this one is definitely my favourite of the series and one I will reread as often as I can.
I usually tend to love omegas more than alphas, especially in this type of stories, but Behemoth stole my heart and he is not giving it back.
I loved both River and Behemoth and their storyline was one I haven't read often, or at least not like this. Both so different than the norm and finding in each other something that is rare and beautiful.
*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no elses*
4 stars
This is the third book in the series and can be read as a standalone.
Behemoth considers himself a monster but is that all he is? A fierce, sneaky omega peels back the monster’s layers only to discover that he isn’t what he appears to be.
Behemoth and River had a sizzling connection. Their need to protect allows them to understand and connect on a deeper level.
An action packed story with plenty of heat and danger.
Behemoth thinks he is a monster and can’t never be loved or have a relationship. River was sent to take him out. But again, there is something that stops River. These two fall quickly and effortlessly. I love this series and am glad we see the previous MC’s even though they are enough really part of the story. I want more time with the pregnancies! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Arc provided by LesCourt Services in exchange for an honest review!
I have loved this series from the start and this latest instalment is not a disappointment in anyway, the Omegas show their strength (all of them) in a variety of ways.
The storyline and characters in the book are well written and the scenes between the MCs are fun and steamy. I would recommend this book and series to anyone who likes their characters to be a little bit flawed and very feisty.
The story starts off drawing you into the world of the Omega Assassins Club with Rivers story and keeps you captivated the entire time. Amazing story-line.
River and Behemoth are both so lovable and I enjoyed getting to know both and watching them turn from enemies to lovers. The secondary characters were great and well thought out.
There were emotional parts, a bit of action and steamy moments keeping me entertained. I love this series and am hoping for more.
I love this gritty world where the omega assassin are strong, snarky, and devoted to taking care of those they love and making the world a better place for all omegas. And if that means taking on big, bad alphas...bring it! I loved River's story. He sets out to bring down Behemoth, but he just can't do it, Fantastic enemies to lovers story; so enjoyable to watch these adversaries find a better way.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
River was an assassin who was being held captive by his mark, Behemoth, who he somehow couldn't kill. I enjoyed how they grew together and learned so much about each other as they also began to love one another. The writing was vividly done and the characters were intriguing with their many distinctive personalities. The story was heartwarming as well as action filled, dangerous, and steamy. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. This was simply marvelous. =)
I had trouble buying River not being able to kill Behemoth (god, what a terrible name) in the diner just because he was muscular. Then the idea that they would leave didn't make any sense to me, given the characters' motivations. Also, I know romance novels are formulaic by nature, but I don't love that every book in this series involves
I loved this storyline, inventive plot, complex characters, on the edge moments, fast, furious, steamy and very sexy. Absolutely loved River and Behemoth together and I’m truly hooked with this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I definitely recommend this book.
Yes to having River's story! Kiki Burrelli has done it again and made such an amazing story. This had a little bit of a Beauty and the Beast feel. Behemoth and River are so perfect for each other even if they didn't know that at first. This is another action pack story and I just can't put this down. I can't wait for the next one in this series.
