This one was a little too twee for me (is it just me or are those eyes pushing the boundaries of good taste? and I won't even start on their names), but my five-year-old adores it.
February 9th, 2020 Emergency Kittens is a picture book presumably meant for readers aged 4-6 years and was published jonly about a month ago . The book tells the story of three superhero kittens who save the day better than “real” superheroes. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, mostly for the illustrations. The three kittens have adorable names, Mimi, Twee-Twee, and Adorbs, along with big googly eyes that make you say “aww” out loud. Another part of the illustration I enjoyed were the speech bubbles. I think this helps children with reading and understanding dialogue. Reading stories with a ton of quotations and he said she said can be confusing for young readers. The author describes the situation while the illustration and speech bubbles help the reader to better visualize the characters and the storyline. Another part of the plot I enjoyed was that three small kittens were able to fix a problem adult heroes with superpowers couldn’t. There was even a superhero that was distracted by his phone and social media throughout the story, something children may see a lot from their relatives. I think this little twist may be used to reassure children that an adult isn’t always necessary to solve problems. I rated the story 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt there wasn't really much of a plot to follow along with. Although there was a problem and a solution the inbetween didn’t make much sense or contribute to the storyline much. The cover of this book appealed to me because of the illustrations, who doesn't love cute kittens? I think this tactic will appeal to young readers as well when passing by this book in the library or bookstore. Ultimately it was a cute book and an easy read and I'd recommend it to anyone that loves cute animals.

While there are plenty of superheroes out there, none can stack up to the winsomeness of these felines. Ready to save the day and even intervene when bullies are present, the Emergency Kittens never fail to rescue those in need. I cannot imagine anyone who won't be charmed by their purrs and staring eyes. The story uses word play to introduce Mimi, Twee-Twee, and Adorbs to readers and show the many ways in which they've come to the rescue. They come into their own when a boy named Sheldon accidentally bounces his basketball near some bullies. The youngsters refuse to give the ball back to Sheldon, and even when various superheroes arrive on the scene, the ball stays firmly in their clutches. Enter those kittens, who frolic, turn on the charm, and distract the bullies. Who cares about a basketball when you can pet an adorable cat? The story line works here, aided perfectly by those colorful and large illustrations showing the Emergency Kittens' personalities in full force. After all, if adorable cat videos capture the attention of so many online viewers, why not bring the idea to a picture book? Something tells me that readers will be seeing more of these purrfect saviors. Although the plot is a bit slim, everything works just fine for the book's purpose.
Children who love cats will greatly enjoy this story. Children who are allergic, or don't love cats probably won't. The book itself is about three cats who show up when something goes wrong and just by being cute make the situation better. Sheldon bounces his ball and (though the text doesn't say) three bigger kids take it and won't give it back. Superheroes aren't able to help, but the kittens are so cute they distract the bigger kids and Sheldon gets his ball back. The end. It is pretty short.
This story had me laughing from the start. The idea of cuteness overload in the form of kittens making everything better when super strong superheros don't do the trick is downright genious. And the illustration of three kittens on each others shoulders rescuing a girl from a tree still has me smiling. If you don't already love kittens, this book is sure to change your mind. I would definitely reccommend this for four to eight year old children!!!
The Emergency Kittens are the real deal; while the other superheroes are all about showing off their powers and promoting their brand, this cuddly trio gets right down to business. Whether you need cheering up or somebody to save the day, these big-eyed kitties will swoop in and lend you a helping paw (after rolling around a bit first).
A quick look at Netflix and your local movie theater line-up will tell you that there are lots of superheroes to watch and appreciate. But these feline superheroes have cuteness as their power. With humorous text that tell all about the harrowing situations in which these three can save the day and brightly colored illustrations, this will definitely be a fun book to share with young cat fans!
This book is absolutely adorable. The Emergency Kittens, Mimi, Twee-Twee, and Adorbs, save the day using the power of their cuteness. No need for strong superheroes when these furry balls of love are around. The story is funny and engaging, and the illustrations are the epitome of cute. I dare you to read this book without saying, "Awwwww!!!"
A different Super-Hero for a different Need...now with the Power of CUTE! It's Emergency Kittens! Be Warned, Small Children: I am going to read the fire out of this during storytime. You may fall prey to the powers of its adorableness. (And that's about all it has going for it. That and a whole lot of cheesiness. And hey, I'm okay with that too.)
Why would you need superheroes when you can have kittens save the day with their cuteness? And not just any cuteness, overexaggerated large-eye cuteness. And one of them looks more like a hybrid between a cat and a rabbit.
Anyway, if you can't get my sarcasm then know that I feel this book is pretty dumb.
This is a silly but adorable book about superhero kittens, who, because of their adorableness, can do with no other superhero can. I thought it was especially cute that the big strong superheroes couldn’t fix the problems but the cute innocent kittens could. This would be a great read for someone who simply loves cats!
Absolutely loved it! The art is cute. The kittens are so cute they will melt even the the meanest kid's hearts. I mean what is cuter or more heart warming than a purring kitten? 3 purring kittens!
This reminds me! If you have some space and time please volunteer as a foster to help save animals in need. ❤️
Pure fun, presented with appealing text and irresistible kitten-heroes, will snag little readers who long for superhero, slam-bang rescues only to recognize the superpower of affection, acceptance, and a hyper-dose of cuteness.
The three kittens are adorable. The story was very so so. For example, in the end when the kittens show up to wow the bullies with their cuteness. I was hoping for a more.... claw and jowl approach to bullies. However, cute story for kiddos.

When superheroes let you down, be prepared for the trio of Emergency Kittens to swoop in and save the day. Minimal text with many talking bubbles, make it a quick read aloud and accessible read on own book for young readers who will also enjoy the boldly graphic illustrations.
Mimi, Twee-Twee, and Adorbs aren't your normal superheroes. They are Emergency Kittens! Through their cat reflexes, teamwork, and adorableness, they save the day. Mottram's Disney-like big eye illustrations really help sell the Emergency Kittens' big save at the end.
