In Part 2, Dejo’s struggle to fulfil the demands of his moral compass continued as his dread of poverty intensified. As part 1 concluded, Dejo’s first love, Flora, suddenly reappeared to haunt and tempt him during a visit to the Nigerian city of Warri. On top of this, Dejo’s family looked forward to a new life in the United Kingdom. In South Western Nigeria, the synthesis of the eclectic mixture of Yoruba religion, culture and the American prosperity gospel continued to accelerate and gather pace. Dejo was convinced this was the panacea to his dread of poverty, but Maggie was apprehensive. Dejo soon found the United Kingdom to be home away from home and as he went deeper and deeper into this new gospel, it became increasingly clear that a show down between the demands of his moral compass and the bane of his life, his fear of poverty, was inevitable. What will his dread of poverty or his moral compass?
