Marilyn Meberg and Luci Swindoll have been living free and loud for decades. Marilyn knows what it means to deal with raw emotions, complicated relationships, and the guilt we tend to carry like a ball and chain. Luci knows what it means to travel the globe, take a risk, and experience all the world has to offer. Together, these two wise friends help us see how we can be free on the inside so we can live free on the outside.
MARILYN MEBERG loves life, people and God's Word. Popular speaker and author of three titles, including The Zippered Heart, Choosing the Amusing, and I'd Rather be Laughing, Marilyn has a Masters degree in English and taught at Biola University for ten years. With a second Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, Marilyn decided to start a another career helping people. In addition, she is a vibrant member of the speaking team for the Women of Faith® Conferences, now in their seventh year.
Marilyn Meberg and Luci Swindoll, two members of the speakers who travel the country as Women of Faith tours have come together to discuss faith and it's accompanying freedom. It is layered out so that each woman writes a chapter discussing their personal take on what freedom, inside and out is to them. I enjoyed the read and found their writing both different enough so it wasn't boring and in agreement enough so it kept my interest. I'm glad I read it.
In order to experience the Freedom God give's all of us, we need to learn to free ourselves from the the INSIDE - OUT. Inner freedom starts from truely knowing oneself - which requires active listening, empathy, and know matter what we hear we need to be kind to ourselves. The "fix" is about changing our way of thinking, developing new behaviors, and beging patient with ourselves when we forget. what sticks with me the most about Freedom on the Outside is that "we give because we have been given to"...I loved that.
i always enjoy the humour, intellect and storytelling of these women. older and wiser as they reflect on life, these are two ladies i would love to share a cup of coffee with.
