She makes his blood boil. And he can't tell anymore if its from frustration or desire...
Navat may have to work with the the human woman assigned to help his team.
But he doesn't have to like her.
Not her attitude. The soft curves of her lips.
Or her stormy eyes. Or the way his skin burns when they touch.
Not the way the scent of her make him lose his mind whenever she's near.

Nope. Not a thing.

Navat is the seventeenth book in the Conquered World science fiction romance series.
Each book features the romance of a new couple, with alpha male alien warriors and women who don't put up with their nonsense. No cheating, no cliffhangers, HEA guaranteed!

Alessa makes his blood boil but he just can't tell if it is from frustration or desire. Navat might have to work with the human woman but he doesn't have to like her nor her attitude. The problem is he feels drawn to the soft curve of her lips, her stormy eyes and the way his skin burns when they touch. Then we have to consider the way that just the scent of her makes him lose his mind whenever she is near to him. He's definitely found his mate if only they can find a way to work and be together.

I enjoyed this story as they did more exploration of the mystery around the Ancient Ones all centred around a building which meant that he needed Alessa's expertise as a mechanical engineer. Their meeting wasn't harmonious (which is often the case for these guys and their mates) although the dramas and dangers that they encountered and survived were all new and unique to their location and what they were doing. I did find Alessa hard work at times and I often felt very sorry for Navat who was only trying to please her while giving her space. Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Alessa & Navat

4 &1\2🌟's for Alessa and Navat I really love that both were sort of emotionally challenged at the beginning of the book. There wasn't a Insta moment but a I'd rather kick enemy butt moment that really brought these two together. Navet is tall muscular and Valorni and Alessa is a mechanical engineer who is a workaholic, put them together and sparks fly. The banter between the two will have you smiling and laughing out loud. The mystery of the Ancient enemy is staring to unravel. The teams go back to the site where many humans were turned by the Ancient Ones and uncover and underground labyrinth filled with tunnels. There Navat and Alessa find ancient writing on the walls and another alien presence that gives them clues that will hopefully help them bring down their enemy. This is a really good entry into the conquered worlds saga and a great way to take your mind off the current troubles . I'm also looking forward too reading the last book in the saga and hope Ms.Wyn writes more. 💖

Overall good book

Was confused in parts. Been awhile since I read last book in series. So it is not a stand alone.
Beyond catching up with back stories. I was confused about her character. It seemed to ping back and forth and abruptly pivot. Example her passion for engineering, she built a bridge and loved her Boss. How did she suddenly change professions. Or her desire to improve infrastructures? To get back some normal time.
Other 2 glaring things is her family did not appear in character except phone. No way they would not want to meet her mate. As well them not cohabitation at end of book???
Lastly was her anger management and training on martial arts? Made no sense. It sounded like she had been one of humans with brain response issues for anger. (Look it up, real, often from head tramau or brain injury) but the parents would have her in meditation, yoga, etc. Felt like the author wanted to add too many good ideas for strong woman characters and put it into one that did not fit.

Let me start off by saying that this book has a truly unique plot. In 2000 books, I’ve read in my lifetime, I’ve never read anything like it. Having said that, most of the books did not have a lot of plot development. They happened every few books or so. The couples would meet and fall in love within 2 to 3 days and suddenly they’re all life partners which I find extremely hard to believe and doesn’t allow you to get to know the characters as fully as You could/should. So I hope she works on that. This book set could’ve been so much more than it was. As I previously mentioned, the plot was unique, and I would have loved to see more of it In all of the books. My chapter review is below. Negative means little to no plot development and plus equals plot development. And the plus and minus mean there was a little bit of plot development, but not a lot. Are you confused?

This is book 17 yet it reads like a continuation of all the other books. There are so many names being thrown around and a underlying back story, one would have to have followed this series/whatever this is from book 1. Again people this is book 17, I sure as heck am not following a series for that long.

Personally I think the author should have taken this into account and made each book mainly about the new couple. There are human names, alien names I just gave up trying to keep up with a story that's already 70% through but posing as new.

Perhaps, maybe, I would have soldiered on.....nope probably not, but the heroine is unlikable. Being a strong capable woman doesn't mean you have to have such an unpleasant demeanour. She is on an alien planet but has the nerve to use the word alien in a derogatory manner. Not good.

Big, dry, humourless, this green alpha is unlikeably nice. And our h, well, bold as brass, dry witted and smart.
And so the fun begins whilst on an archeological dig.
This was an exciting story with lots of adventure and humour akin to Indiana Jones dialogue but oh so British. I was chuckling away when in dire moments we get a slapstick one liners.
Besides that the findings in the adventure pushes the storyline along
Giving me more answers and closing in on the final triumph.
Great instalment with lots of action and adventure and yet another romance, along with steamy times and a vet smart heroine.

Holy smokes this was an exciting book. It had a lot of close calls and suspenseful situations, along with humor, action, and romance. The characters are very likable as always with this series and the chemistry between Navat and Alessa was great. He was very protective and attentive and she was brave with a big heart. Together they made quite the pair. Meanwhile, everyone is still having to deal with the possessed and hopefully are getting closer to answers. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

The adventures and action in this book will have you glued to the story....book 17 and one of my favourites..
Navat and Alessa cant stand each other but at the same time Navat cant help the pull he feels for the irritating engineer he has been ordered to protect and help....when the team are attacked they find themselves in a life threatening situation that reveals some answers to the mystery of the ancient enemies or Grogos as they have been named by some of the crew.....Alessa and Navat decide not to fight the attraction to each other

Series Ending after next book --- Nooooo!

This is a well written humorous series. The characters are relatable and the story line has lots of action.
I'm sad to see the end of this series and hope the author would consider adding the occasional book to the series.
