My son and daughter-in-law are expecting my first grandchild, so reading through this book was so exciting. I love how straight-forward it is without the "fluff" of similar books. It plainly states what to expect each week of pregnancy, the changes in mother's body, and the size and development of the baby.
There are many tips that I wasn't expecting, and I found them very valuable and helpful, such as planning a shower, natural acne treatments, breast pumps, etc.
Definitely an information-packed book without feeling overwhelming or "too much." This is probably the best week-by-week guide on pregnancy (and beyond) that I've come across.
5 Stars!

This book has gotten us through the full process of pregnancy to postpartum. It’s exactly the short and to-the-point chapters that you need to sneak in between the doctor appointments, naps, and work as you experience your first pregnancy. It took the mystery and nervousness that I was experiencing and gave beautiful recommendations and scientific backing to meet my questions and needs.
I was recommended this book by someone who lived in the UK and said this would be relevant. But unfortunately, I felt this was not the case as it had so many Americanism and information that wasn't similar to recommendations made in the UK.
This was the perfect book for Mark and me as we were going through pregnancy. The book is broken down into weeks, and every week has 2-5 pages dedicated to that week of pregnancy. It goes over what is going on with mom this week, the baby, any appointments coming up, and a checklist of some things you should do.
Mark and I would read the easy, not intimidating "chapter" each Sunday night before bed to know what was going on each week and what to expect. It was a great way for both of us to get ready together. I would give this to any newly pregnant parents.
Easy to read and understand, weekly pregnancy guide which I found most helpful as a first time pregnant woman this past year.
Other books I've read basically all line up with this guide of what you can expect is happening with baby. It's obviously based on American society when talking about certain things and resources but it wasn't hard to find the equivalent in Canada.
As a general overview, this book might be ok. Overall, it felt like a plug for Huntpalmer's blog and the info came off a little biased. I've read several other books that give much better information and explanations than this book. The only thing I took from this book was a few other app and book recommendations. Going in the donation pile.
This book helped me to figure out what steps I needed to take during pregnancy that I might not have otherwise realized. It also helped me to know what to expect when.
This book is informative and a quick read. Answered a good bit of the questions I had and put my mind at ease with the check lists. Will be referring back to this.
Easy quick read that gives good insight on what to expect. I'm reading other longer books for more details, but loved reading this quickly first to give a synopsis of what to expect!
