Nate Brady and Myra West have been keeping a secret, though not just from their group—also from each other. Getting married when they were barely adults wasn’t in the cards when they made their plans for their future. Divorcing one another amidst pain and heartbreak wasn’t either.
Years have passed, wounds have scabbed over and scarred, but their anger remains. If the two can open themselves to the impossible, they might be able to take that second chance. Only they’ll also have to fight their fears, the lies between them, and the desire they thought long gone.
Except they aren’t alone in their secrets, and if they aren’t careful, they may just be taking them to their graves.

Second chance romance. Married then divorced. Dual POV. Some flashbacks. Neither were virgins whenn they first met.
Reason for breakup. Spoilers ahead.
Hero POV 'I looked down at the photos, at the people in front of me, and couldn’t breathe. The love of my life, my wife, lay in bed with another man, a smile on her face, both of them naked and clearly sated after whatever the hell they had done together in bed.'
'“I saw the photos,” I whispered. “What?” “You cheated on me. I know you did. You cheated. I don’t even know you.”
“Where are you getting this? Pictures? I’ve only been with you since we met. It’s always only been you. I married you.” I let out a bark of laughter. “Yeah, you married me. In Vegas. Cliché much? It’s over, Myra. Take this.” I tossed the ring at her, and she caught it, fumbling a bit. “Just go. I’m done.” “Are you kidding me?” she asked. “You’re saying it’s over? Because of some pictures I haven’t seen? And you think I cheated? You know me, Nathan. I would never cheat on you. Where are you getting this?” “I saw the proof. I know who you are now. I should have known given how everything moved so fast, and you were so readily into it. What else have you been lying about? No, you know what? I don’t care. We made a mistake, and we both knew it. Neither of us told anyone in our lives about the marriage, and yet we were supposed to be husband and wife? No, fuck that. You’re a cheater...you cheated on me. You broke my trust. I can’t believe anything you say. You need to go.”
She stopped crying and looked at me, blinking. “I don’t know what you saw, and I don’t know what you think you know. But I would never do that.” “I saw the truth. I don’t know you, Myra. I don’t think I ever did.” “No, Nathan. I didn’t know you.” She looked down at the ring in her palm and then slid hers off her finger. She clutched them both tightly and swallowed hard. “It’s over, Myra.” Then she walked out.'
'I hated him because he never trusted me, and he hated me because he thought I cheated.'
During separation. Heroine mentions she can't remember last time she had sex. Their friends set them up on dates. He's working all the time, not getting out much.
" She was allowed to date whoever she wanted, and I was allowed to do the same with whoever I felt like being with. After all, she had likely been with plenty of men while we were apart. I grumbled at that thought. But hell, I had been with several women since, too. I’d even had a serious girlfriend since Myra.".
There is no impression of him being a man-whore type, despite the comment above. It's vague wth the heroine.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. HEA. Epilogue.

I have been waiting for Nate Brady and Myra West's story since the very beginning of the series because we were given a little teaser that these two had a past, a past that no one knew about. Well now we have the full story and what a story it is.
The pact sisters have come to the last one to find their HEA, it was now time for Myra to be set up on blind dates just as she had help do for the other pact sisters. But Myra makes it clear she will not end up with the last Brady Brother just because all of her "sisters" have paired off with the brothers doesn't mean she will. This is because she has a past with Nate that the others aren't aware of, a past that had her saying I Do and then divorcing him a short time later.
I've been dying to find out why there was so much tension between Myra and Nate in the previous books. Their story was full of secrets and emotion and so much sexual tension you could feel it with every turn of the page. I loved getting to see how deep their connection went through all of the hate they had for each other and it really brought this story together to see how they worked through everything.
This was the last book in the Promise Me series and while I'm sad to see these characters go I think Myra and Nate really brought the series to an end in a spectacular way. They brought all the emotions to the story and I loved seeing how the rest of the group reacted to their secret which made for a very fun read.
Sooooo...finally we get to know what happened with Nate and Myra in the past. I feel bad for them, bad for how they were manipulated and all that they lost. I liked that finally they are starting to talk to each other, both about the past and their present. It was good that they were able to work things out because Myra needed Nate to lean on when her family popped back up and were horrible to her. I thought it interesting how the whole gang reacted to learned the Nate and Myra's past and how everyone was rooting for them to work things out. I really could have done without the drama at the end, but it was nice to see Nate and Myra get their HEA, finally.
From Our First is the fourth and last in the Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan, tied together by a group of close-knit friends who determine to help each other find the love and support they deserve. From Our First is a second-chance story, for Nate Brady and Myra West, who fell hard and fast for each other when they were young, and then split agonizingly for all involved.
My heart broke for Nate and Myra and I longed for them to find a way to get past their pain and hurt and mistrust. Ms Ryan's writing brings all the feels, and the emotions run the gamut from joyful anticipation to heartfelt longing to fiercely justified anger to soul-deep sorrow. And as with all her stories, Nate and Myra don't go through this completely alone. They are clearly part of a loving community, who support and love and encourage and prod, wanting the best for them as well. These people keep them grounded when those with less positive goals for them try to interfere.
Ms Ryan's story keeps the pages turning, with just the right mix of angst, suspense, and passion for an incredibly satisfying read!
As I started the journey between Nate and Myra my heart hurt and my head was drowning in secrets. Their story is tearing me apart as the lies, truths and secrets are finally divulged. From Our First is one of those stories that has your heart firmly lodged in your throat for a great deal of the book. It has your emotions all over the place and has you teetering on the edge of your seat and unable to put the book down as your heart and mind crave the answers and outcome to ensure their happiness. It will steal your breath and have your pulse racing as the chemistry and draw between these two skyrockets. A story that will make you cry, smile, frustrated and everything in between.
I really enjoyed this romantic second chance story. We meet Myra and Nate who we found out were keeping a big secret from their friends and families. I really enjoyed the way the story flowed. They were basically enemies due to their past but you can't fight what's meant to be. I loved the way their interactions changed and the surprises that came about. It ends with a pretty action packed climax and a great epilogue.
This seemed like the last in the series but I enjoyed it just fine without reading the other books.
I first read From Our First by Carrie Ann Ryan when it was published a few weeks ago and loved it. So I was excited to listen to the audio narrated by Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke. They did an absolutely amazing job bringing Nate and Myra’s story to life. I got lost in their story once again and loved it.
I have absolutely loved the women of the Promise Me series. They have been through so much and yet they are strong and determined. In the last book of the series, which can technically be read as interconnected standalones, BUT are so good and should just be read in order, we finally find out what is going on with Nate and Myra. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. From our First by Carrie Ann Ryan is a second chance romance that was emotional and angst-filled. What secret have Nate and Myra been keeping and will they survive the aftermath?
Enemies because of the secrets, anger and hurt they hid from each other and others, can they find a way past that to see what they truly have before it’s too late? Their journey truly broke my heart. People they should have trusted let them down and now the people that matter the most to both of them have found their happily ever after. Can they learn to forgive and move forward? Both are stubborn and determined, but there is so much there if they just let themselves see it. A great ending to an amazing series. I just loved this book and series so much and highly recommend reading and/or listening!
Now that her three friends have found their “ones” Myra can no longer put off going on the blind date that they arranged. She has been keeping a secret so the one person she doesn’t want it to be is Nate but fate has other ideas and now they find themselves having to face the past they have never overcome.
When Nate married Myra they were young and thought their love was invincible however neither was prepared for the obstacles that they would face. Misunderstanding and outside forces broke them apart and the hurt they both carry makes it feel like it was only yesterday. When his brothers set him up with Myra will it be their second chance or are they destined for heartbreak once again?
Nate and Myra have always loved each other and they still have a lot of challenges to face if they are to have the happy ever after they both deserve.
Prior may have to move over as my favorite Brady. Nate and Myra had a secret and in this story we find out what it is and how it happened. I felt so bad for them. But watching them find each other again just made my heart smile. I love all the Brady’s and will be rereading them for some time to come.
I was looking forward to this final book in this series and it was a great ending to this series. I have always wondered about Nate and Myra since we have found out a few things about them in the previous books. I was really surprised with what came out about their past and why they are not together any longer. Her parents are, in my personal opinion, a tad evil, but I guess money makes people do things even to their own child. I was sad when Myra found out about her grandmother and then when it was as though the rest of the family was conspiring against her, that was very troubling. I was shocked when Roland pulled what he pulled, but at this point with this family nothing should have surprised me. I was glad to see Nate and Myra becoming friends again and seeing if they might be able to find a spark between them again and of course our wonderful friends came together to be there for the two of them no matter what craziness was going on. My favorite line from this story is, ‘But as I held up my glass and cheered and toasted the three women I had made a promise to, I knew that no matter what past we each came from, the future would always be paved with family and hope and greater promises’. Great story to end this amazing series.
This just about broke me, and although i loved them both there were times i just wanted to hit Myra for pushing Nate away. Loved seeing them find each other again

Ms. Carrie Ann Ryan is a Goddess with stories and I always enjoy myself when I read her work. From Our First is the fourth and I -Think- final in the Promise me series. From book one, I have been DYING to get Myra and Nathan's story, and it did not disappoint.
Nate and Myra's story picks right up where the last books ends, C.A.R dropped that killer hook at the end of the last book had me screaming for the next one LOL. Nate and Myra have a past, one that is now affecting the new lives they have struggled so hard to rebuild. They both have family and friends together and now run in the same circles. Can they manage to put the past behind them and try to move on from the hurt in their pasts?
In their first year of college, with their first taste of being an adult, Nate and Myra feel in love and got married. Head over heels in love with one another, they wanted nothing more than to finish school and live their lives with one another. Unfortunately, life doesn't always work the way we want it to. Divorcing, bitter pain and hurt cause Nate and Myra to hold to the hate, over time their wounds scab over and scar.
Now, after so many years have passed, the truth has been revealed and their chance to heal has finally come. Will they take it? Will Myra let go of the past and move on? Will Nate be able to forgive himself for the pain he has caused? Now that they know the cause of their pain, now that they know the truth can they wipe the slate clean and move on together?
Yahoooo!
Myra and Nathan, what can I say about these too...both so stubborn, both so young when the pain hurt. They trusted people who they thought there family, and that back fired. Myra's parents are the worst, trash and the bottom of the bin and I truly hope they get what's coming to them. For Myra and Nathan though, you can tell how much they still care about one another, but neither are willing to take the jump to heal the breach. -Shakes head- From Our First is a awesome read filled will raw emotion, pain and healing, love and growth, spicy moments and loving ones that warm the readers heart. Five stars and a must read for any reader that loves a second chance love story!
5 star review From Our First (Promise Me #4) by Carrie Ann Ryan
From Our First is the last book in the series and is Nate and Myra’s story. I knew that these two had a past and that it had not ended well, but this story reveals just how heartbreaking and devastating it was. This is a second chance at love story that ticked the boxes for me. One can never forget the past but you can come to terms with it and move forward. The growth in their relationship throughout this story was heart warming and if they are prepared to take a chance, they might find the happiness that has alluded them. Myra is the last woman standing and the other women are determined that she goes out on the blind dates that she agreed too, however she is not ready and she is shocked when she begrudgingly turns up to see Nate is her date. He is equally shocked as his brother’s have set him up too. What none of them know is that Nate and Myra were once married There were so many twists and turns in this book that I was riveted and read well into the night. From Our First was a fitting end to the series and one I enjoyed.
When I finished book 3 of this series, I was like WTH… How could it end like that. I was desperate to know what happened between Myra and Nate.
From the start of the series Myra and Nate disliked each other, but you just didn’t know why. And when you read their story, it was actually sad that they lost so much time together due to a misunderstanding or due to Myra’s parents meddling. As they didn’t want her to be with someone like Nate, beneath their status.
I liked the fact that when the truth was finally revealed, there wasn’t a long dragged out back and forth of who was more wrong. They talked it out and see where they would go. And seriously anyone could see they still had feelings for each other.
This series was definitely an amazing read. Reading about these four women and their struggles, but also about the Brady men and their issues. Loved every minute of it and looking forward to seeing what is in store next for this author ♥
As the fourth and final book in the Promise Me series, Carrie gave us what we come to love in this series, love with a side of suspense and great supporting characters. Nate and Myra are not strangers to each other. When they initially met they fell in love fast and hard but it ended and left a lot unresolved. There was a lot of distrust as well as hurt to resolve. To make matters in this situation bad is their friends and family does not know about their past. I found that the storyline flowed well, information was where it needed to be. I enjoyed watching them navigate through their past feelings and finding their way back to each other. The ending offered enough action but I wanted a little more from the epilogue. Overall good story that will have you continuously turning the pages. If you are looking for a second chance romance, with an added bonus of group of close knit friends this is your book.
We finally get to find out what Maya and Nate's story is. We get to find out why they hate each other so much and how do they know each other. We finally get to see the heat self combust between them and walk with them on their journey - will It be a journey alone or a journey to happiness? We do know that the journey will have a bump it two on the road they travel. And I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I love these curmudgeonly grumbly people. I love how they have been there for their friends and family while keeping each other in the opponent's corner....and yes I think the boxing reference is apt. These two are fighters, they are fighting the world, their past and each other....but can they fight their hearts? Their destiny? Their love?? Of course not....but it's fun watching them try! Once again I cried buckets and buckets of tears. But they were cathartic and beautifully pulled from my cold dead heart. Thank you Carrie Ann Ryan for taking me on this emotional rollercoaster. I'm just so sad that we have come to the end of the Pact Sisters and Brady Brothers stories. But I honestly loves the time spent in their company. I will keep them on my Kindle and visit with them from time to time 💜
We finally have the final pact sister’s story. Myra is hiding a secret and it is huge. We were left with the perfect jaw dropping revelation at the end of Far from Destined. Well, our answers are here. Nate has been just as mysterious throughout this series and now we know why. He suffers from migraines from an accident that occurred. He is learning to deal with them by not putting others in danger. Myra is afraid to share her secret with her new friends because she fears they will abandon her.
Nate and Myra share a special past and have never stopped loving each other. But can they co-exist in each other’s lives with the past they share? Myra has her own issues with her family, and I felt so sorry for her. Nate is the support she needs, and I do not think they can ever do life without the other. From Our First is wonderful in the way the story unfolds. It has a little suspense, some mystery, lots of laughs and fun, and of course scorching hot scenes as well. Grab this outstanding story!
Nate and Myra, you knew they had a past, and you knew it ended badly, but finding out the whole story was heartbreaking. What I loved about these two, and I truly did love them, was that their ability to let go of the past so it didn’t affect their future. They didn’t forget, they might not forgive everything, but they didn’t dwell, and moved forward. The ability to live in the present both worked and hindered them. They didn’t look too deeply into their own feelings, and that caused some issues. Their perseverance to continue and be happy won out though and made them all the stronger for their second chance, because, despite what had happened, they had never lost the love and bond between them
The one I've been waiting for since that awkward meeting in the hospital room when it became apparent there was something, some connection between Nate and Myra. An amazing end to the series. Really hope we get catch up stories or sneak peeks for all these couples at some point in the future. Its so hard to say goodbye to them.
This is the last book in this series & it's Nate's & Myra story. Myra is the last one in the pack to find her ever after, she doesn't want to go on blind dates because she's not ready. Nate's brothers him up on a blind date & it's not till he gets to the restaurant that he finds out it Myra, but what his brothers & Myra's pack sisters don't know is that they used to be husband & wife! Carrie Ann has done it again with the twists & turns, read this to find out what happens!
Myra is the last of the pact sisters who has to go on blind dates. She doesn’t want to go because she worries they will try to hook her up with Nate. Nate is told by his brothers and sister that he needs to date. They set him up on a blind date only to find out his date is Myra. No one knows the secret they have been hiding and going on this date doesn’t seem to help. Years ago Myra and Nate were close and dated. They even got married but Nate was told and shown things that caused him to push Myra away. This is the cause of their rift and it is hard for both of them to try and get past the hurt. Myra gets an unexpected visit from her parents and her cousin to inform her that her grandmother passed away. During the will reading Myra is in for a shock as is her family. While trying to deal with all of this she is trying to figure out what is going on with her and Nate. They decide to come clean to their friends and work on trying to figure out what to do next.
At last we get the final book of the series and what a way to go our! Nate and Myra clearly share some animosity and perhaps a bit more? We have been guessing on that for the first 3 books. The Pact Sisters are down to just one and they seem determined that Myra be with Nate.
The story slowly unfolds all the history and the secrets between these two. When Myra looses her grandmother, her god awful family shows up to taunt her about all they have done to make her life miserable in the past. Nate just happens to walk in on that and hears that they made up the whole story that caused he and Myra to divorce.
This is a slow build to trust and friendship and forgiveness. Myra still has some lingering issues but Nate is in it this time for the long haul.
Loved seeing the sisters support one another. Loved all the scenes of the family together. Great way to wrap the series.
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book. The author writes with such emotion and really touches mine. The twists in this one are so realistic. Parents can be a joy but some are the opposite. Same with families. Loved the ending. I received a n advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
Nathan "Nate" Brady and Myra West did something when they were younger, they got married and divorced without telling their loved ones. Years later, they were still dealing with the aftermath of their decisions. Their loved ones found out about their secrets and let's just say that they were surprised to be kept in the dark.
Myra didn't want to think about Nate but it was hard not to when they were in each other's orbits. They made a truce, the former lovers found out some things about one another that shocked and amazed them.
As everyone around them are happily in love, Myra and Nate felt a wee jealous cause they had what they family and friends had but they lost it. They had to overcome the hurt, deception and betrayal they felt and rediscover each other in a new way.
Loved how supportive the pack sisters and the Brady brothers were of Nate and Myra. They were rooting for them to find the HEA that was stolen from them many years ago.
FROM OUR FIRST is the fourth installment in Carrie Ann Ryan's PROMISE ME series. It was fast-paced, passionate, an emotional roller coaster ride. Carrie Ann Ryan did another outstanding job. I recommend you guys to give this book/series a try. 5🌟🌟🌟🌟
****I received this book, without any obligation to review.****

From Our First is the fourth and final book in the Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan. It's the story I wanted to read since we met Nate and Myra in Forever Only Once (book 1 in the series). Each book can be read on its own, but we were teased about these two for a long long time.
I had been anxiously waiting for this book because I wanted to find out what exactly went down between these two in the past, what drove them apart, and how they were going to get back together. To be completely honest, I am not 100% satisfied with this book and there is a bitter taste in my mouth when I think of it. I think the fault lies in Nate and the fact that he didn't trust Myra and also, for moving on during their time apart and actually getting serious with another woman. Myra might have dated but she doesn't even remember the last time she slept with someone, so the book kinda fell into the trope "woman barely sleeps with someone, man has no problem sleeping with plenty of other people". I hate that a misunderstanding was the reason these two fell apart.
There is some drama, mostly relating to Myra's family which was a little unnecessary, but it didn't affect negatively my overall experience with the book. As I was writing this review, I realized that I also didn't like how easily it seemed for the characters to move on from the hurt of the past after the book began. There wasn't as much friction as it was indicated in the previous books and Myra forgave Nate way too easily considering that he thought the worst of her and didn't even allow her to explain her side of things so many years back.
From our first is my least favorite book in the series and most of the blame falls on Nate. I was not fond of him and I think that Myra deserved better.
This review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this book.
This book, the final one in the Promise Me Series was, for me personally, the best yet! You could listen to this book as a standalone story but you will get so much more from the story in you have already enjoyed the first three as all the characters and their histories are closely linked.
From the first book, I have had a soft spot for Nate and wondered about the animosity between him and Mira, well in this book we find out why they behave the way they do. Nathan, Nate, Brady and Myra West have been keeping a secret from everyone in their circle, friends and family alike. Years before when they were in college they met, fell in love and quickly married each other. But where most people can't wait to tell their families and friends they kept their marriage a secret. They were so young, barely adults and the marriage was a spontaneous act taking place in Vegas over Spring Break. Before they had the chance to tell anyone they ended up divorcing one another, the pain and heartbreak that followed explains how they feel now. Years may have passed, but their anger remains.
As they share so many close connections, his three brothers are in love with her three friends they agree to try and at least be friends. But can you just be friends with someone you still love, even if it feels like hate? In this book, we find out why they divorced. We learn more of Mira's family, and why she has cut all ties with them. What will happen when they tell their long-buried secret to their families and friends?
Carrie Ann has woven a story which pulled at my heart-strings and kept me glued to my headphones. I just could not stop listening. The storyline delivers drama and angst as well as palpable chemistry and love. I could say more but I don't want to spoil your enjoyment of this wonderfully moving story.
The narration of this book by Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke is so well done, the characters are all so familiar to them now as they have narrated the whole series, they naturally become the characters and you know instantly who is speaking. I love their narration and thank them and Carrie Ann for the enjoyment they have given me.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
Last one of the series... Normally I really hate endings but in this case I think the series is ready. All the characters are coupled off and ready for their happily ever after. So, somehow, I'm okay with this ending. It gave me closure. But what's more important is what did I think about this story in particular. And I liked it but I'm not crazy about it. Sorry for the fans (and Carrie Ann Ryan, I still love you!!!) but that's my honest opinion. I loved what was happening and really enjoyed the story because I love the Brady's and the pact sisters, and I like Nate and Myra... But that is what made this story good to me, and not any particulars in the story line or writing itself... The shocking turn of events for this story actually already happens at the end of Far From Destined, and it did make me curious about what happened. But this is told really early in this story and after that it becomes quite predictable. A thing that annoys me is that there are no new characters (except for Myra's family) introduced in this story. It's just the Bradys and the pact sisters. I think there is one other character introduced by name, an old colleague of Nate and he is only there for one chapter. I know people can have small circles but this was annoying to me as a reader. This is not to say that I hated the story, I didn't! It was fun and I finished it really quick. But it felt more like a comfortable story that you slip back into, one that you've read before and is just nice. That's what this story felt like to me. It's not necessarily bad, but it's something you need to be prepared for. So here it is, now you know my opinion and you are prepared ;) Maybe you disagree and you'll love it, but you'll only find out if you try. And I would say read it, see for yourself (especially for those who've read more of this series, finish it! This story will bring you the closure you need at the end of a series)
