I haven't read anything from this author before but will certainly be reading more!!! This was a really good read. Characters were excellent and a very good story. Written really well too. I have already got others to read and can't wait. Recommended.

January 20, 2021DNFing at 20% ish. The writing was a little clunky and could have used some working out. But I would have made it through that if not for a) The heroine speaking 4 words total to the hero before confessing to him that she was IN LOVE. And b) her being engaged to the hero’s best friend. The fiancé is going on a long trip and leaves the heroine in the heroes adept hands. And the heroines marriage WAS NOT arranged by her parents. In fact her parents want only a love match for her and ask her multiple times if she loves her fiancé to which she says “we will see.” Basically the engagement was her idea and then she renegs after barely speaking to our hero....

This historical romance splits it’s time between Scotland and England. The build up to the true story takes a little time, but once it is there - watch out. The love between Naomhan and Theodora heats up and there is no stopping it. Finding one’s true love knows no bounds, no countries and no limits. When a falsely written letter is intercepted, telling of a plot to slay🔪 the 👑Queen and 👑King of Scotland, Naomhan🐺🍆⛲🔪 is accused of being a Jacobite. He must flee, or be hanged. He ends up crossing into England, changing his last name, and becoming a deacon at a small church in a village.
Two years he stays there, until dire situations at home necessitate his return to his home🏰 in Scotland.
He doesn't return alone, he has Theodora💃💋, a young Englishwoman with him. They have promised to guard each other's backs. They are deeply in 💘love. The road back is treacherous, Theodora's father wants her back, as well as her betrothed!, and there is a price on Naomhan's head, since he was branded a traitor.

Naomhan🐺🍆⛲🔪 is one tough hombre! He gets beat up💪👊, stabbed🔪, and sliced with a sword🔪, numerous times. He takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!
The ADULT scenes were rather oddly written, but effective, I guess. Practice makes perfect!
The book seemed a little drug out, too long, and for no real reason. Maybe some over descriptiveness and unnecessary dialogue added to the length?

Great story. Action packed, dramatic and realistic. The characters were fabulous. They were strong willed, strong minded, determined, inquisitive, bold, brave and courageous. For being an English miss, Theodora was not typical. She steered her life the way her parents taught her but also kept in mind her own thoughts, needs and desires. Naomhan is the first son of Clan Grant. Accused of treason against Scotland's Queen, he wanted to stand and prove his innocence. His cousin whom he loved like a brother, Stephen urged him to run to England and never come back. Naomhan knew there was a conspiracy afoot. But he could do nothing but run. He met Theodora during his two-year exile and against complicated circumstances they fell in love. Naomhan had received word that his younger brother's life had been threatened and that his father was now dead. He had to return home despite the danger of being arrested by the Queen's men. He spoke to Theodora about his plans and that he would return to her. He expected compliance. Well, happy to say he did not get it. As you read the book you'll understand why. A very good read and I do recommend it.

Can I say that this story did not take off well. I was patient with the story, and it paid off. This is not your typical highlander story, and some of the plot seems like it is going no where. Just when I decide I had enough, the story takes a major turn and goes in a new direction. I find that the hero takes on different personalities, but in the end is true to himself. I have a hard time with two eyes meeting and falling in love. Neither was free to pursue each other, and Naomham steals Theodora away from her family back into the Highlands, even though their is a price on his head. This story gets intense in this part of the story and this is where the story gets good. I have some simple moral questions with the story, but I understand what Theodora is going through.

Theodora is a carefree girl and when you first meet her you just want to shake to tell her to wake up! But as she develops as a woman, you celebrate that she isn't any longer satisfied to "go along" with the plans laid out for her life.
Naomhan makes your toes curl! He is everything you could count on from a hunky, sexy, lovable highlander.
I really enjoyed this story!

Anything for Love
Theodora & Naomham chemistry was perfect! There story was about two people who would do anything for love.
I truly love their story. This book has some twist and turns that kept me wanting more!
My only complaint is the inconsistency that happened towards the end of the book. Boy other than that the book was great!
Highly recommend!!

Not Your Typical Love Story
A little slow to start but it didn't take long before sparks begin to fly and the page turning seems faster.
Intriguing plot that takes two people on a rocky road to romance with some mysterious things to figure out.
The story kept my interest but I prefer a little more heat in my highland romance stories.
A good romance story but not great.
3.5 Star worthy.

Twisted love
What a wonderful story with great twists and turns. It really keep you on your toes right up to the end. What is love...who wronged who...with love prevail...or will the wrong never be righted. It took a little to get it going but once I really got into the characters I had to see the outcome.

Naomhan and Thoedoras story was quite intriguing. It was a rough beginning for the pair but through strong faith and trust in each other they found the strength to find the real traitor in their midst which happy ended their long troubled journey. Honor prevailed.

I had previously read this book some time ago, enjoyed reading it a second time, too. This story was filled with some suspenseful moments as well as conflict and danger. The characters were well described and believable. The love they had for each other was just amazing.

Loved the strength of Theodora. Also loved the interaction between the H and h. Lovely love story between two individuals who had to fight to keep their love.
