Rate this book
The only thing worse than losing your memory? Gaining it back. How can I work through the pain of his betrayal when my own hands are as black as sin?

My husband swears he's not going down without a fight, but our transgressions are fiery ash, raining down on what's left of our kingdom.

One wants to love me.

The other? Possess me.

And if I choose the wrong man, I'll lose more than my heart—it just might cost me my life.

Forsaking All Others is the final book in the From This Day Forward Duet and should be read following From This Day Forward.

Shannon is a born and raised Texan. She grew up inventing clever stories, usually to get herself out of trouble. Her mother was not amused. In junior high, she began writing fractured fairy tales from the villain's point of view and that was the moment she knew that she was going to use her powers for evil instead of good.

In 2003, she moved to Denver and met the love of her life. After some relentless stalking and a few well-timed sarcastic remarks, the man eventually gave in to her charms and wifed her so hard. They welcomed a son in 2007 that they named after their favorite Marvel superhero, Spiderman.

Sick of seeing beautiful mountains through their window every day, the three escaped back to the desolate landscape of the west Texas desert in 2009. She welcomed her second son not long after and soon realized that being surrounded by three men was nothing at all like she'd imagined in her fantasies.

After an unplanned surgery in 2014 and a long pity party, she decided to pen a novel about the worst thing that could happen to a person in order to cheer herself up. She's twisted like that. Thus, From This Day Forward was born and the rest, as they say, is history.

Not only does Shannon enjoy stalking people, she also has a fondness for being stalked. Visit her at www.shannonshaemyers.com to keep up with her latest schemes and shenanigans.

She just took him back just like that? He cheated three times with her "best friend" and to know he might be a potential father to the ow's baby? I feel utter disgust at how this author made the female lead so weak!

Total letdown because it became a total train wreck.
Ow ex bff is a crazy bitch that wants the hero for herself and has always coveted him. She even leaves her husband to be with her.
The heroine has issues because om turns out to be a stalker and even worse…
I wanted her to divorce the hero because of the pregnancy scare. I wouldn’t be a stepmother of a child from an affair if I was threatened with a gun aimed at my head.
Not a chance in hell.
I wish the hero, who wanted the heroine back so badly, had been ready to dump ow and her child if the heroine asked him to.
I don’t understand why these men should accept a child they didn’t want to have just because the mother wants to keep it.
Ok, the mother has the right to decide but since she has all the right and the father is never considered, she should also take full responsibility if she wants to keep it and the father don’t want it. And I don’t understand why a man who cheated and regretted his mistake should want a child from the cheating that would always be a reminder of that time.
It doesn’t work that way.
The end was honestly ott. And I don’t like them both, the heroine because she wanted to divorce him but wanted to bang him at the same time, and the hero who should have tried harder to win her back, and he never even apologized.
They are both awful human beings, imo.
And the heroine always having om around? Really? She knew he was a stalked and she suspected he was unstable, so why didn’t she have a restraining order? Meh.

***FOUR STARS***

I'm just writing one review for both stories, From This Day Forward (Part 1) and Forsaking All Others (Part 2), mostly because I'm too lazy to write proper reviews for both stories.

I actually enjoyed both stories quite a bit.
The rest of the review has spoilers so don't read on unless you are okay with that......

Hmmm, the story loses some momentum in the second book. Cannot compete with book#1 for the shock effect. Gets repetitive and the mild 'mystery' isn't much riveting either.

But overall, the story is one roll coaster ride of surprises, shockers, story shifts, angst dumps and good old tropey-soapiness.
I love a marriage in trouble/cheating tropes and this book has that in shovels – only in a very crazy, messed up, entertaining way. A fresh take?

Well, I wanted to find out what would happen to Beth and David. Things were a mess at the end of the first book. Beth was recovering her memories slowly after a car accident left her with amnesia. She discovered she had been cheating on her husband, David - something she really didn't like finding out about herself. Complicating that guilt, she discovered David was cheating on her, with her best friend, who is now pregnant. The car accident put everything in focus for David and he realized that Beth was the only woman for him and wants to get her back. Ironically, her ordeal also made Beth realize that David is her guy....but she doesn't want to be around another woman or her baby because he screwed up. Beth and David have a lot to work out in this book and they go about it in some predictable ways. There is a bit of a twist when Landon's ex-girlfriend goes missing and we are all wondering what that has to do with Beth and David.

Book one was messy, and I guess I really wanted to see that mess cleaned up...and I did, eventually! I was even happy about the ending of this book. Getting to the end was a bit like watching the Jerry Springer show though, complete with paternity tests and people punching each other out. It's like a train wreck you can't help but stare at.

So this one wasn’t as interesting as the first. For one thing it kind of turned predictable with what happened with the OM. Also the fact that they both cheated on each other but the author made it seem so much worse that he cheated on her bothered me.

Forsaking all Others by Shannon Myers a five-star read that you will not forsake. I will say buy both this book and the first in the duet From this day forward together as you will need to. Together they are the From this day forward duet and together they make the best read I’ve read in a long while. What a story!!! I can’t go into too many details as I don’t want to give spoilers and this story is one that will have your jaw dropping at so many different times, with plot twists that you won’t see coming. My favourite character is Elizabeth or Beth or Lizzie as she is sometimes known, we see many different sides of her during these two stories and each page shows us another dimension to the story. I couldn’t put either story down when I picked them up and have to thank Shannon Myers for writing a great story once again. This story makes you thankful for every day you have alive. It also shows that just because you don’t get your happily ever after at first, it doesn’t mean you never will. I’ve kept my review similar for both stories as I really didn’t want to give the game away If I say the wrong thing about David Or Landon it may spoil the story and both of these books deserve you to read them without spoilers.

I saw this duet recommended in a group I am saying it was heartbreaking, a real tear-jerker and that was just what I was in the mood for. Well, no tears were shed from me. The story was all over the place, there were a lot of errors, the world and his wife were cheating (which is not a hard limit for me) but it all just got a bit ridiculous. There was no redemption for any of the characters and while the initial twist was really good, that was the highlight of the duet for me. It was a shame because if this was executed perfectly, it would have been a great story.

This was the second book in the "From this Day Forward Series." See my review on that book.

SPOILER ALERT!! (Do not read if you do not want to be spoiled.)
I left this book a 5 star.

This book had a twist that I did not see coming.

Lets start off by saying that Beth is still recovering from her memory from her horrific car accident from book one but she still continues to love and trust David with everything in her. Their love is strong but being tested. Both have been unfaithful. David with Jess and Beth with Landon. The only thing is, she is having issues with David now having a baby by another woman. After he cheated on her in book one and found out that Jess was pregnant. Something just wasn't right. David began to ask for paternal test. Beth had told him that she did not know if she could live her life with him if Jess's baby with his. It just so happened that Jess showed up the same day at the doctors office for her paternal test, which was the same day that Beth was there for her pregnancy exam. Beth had took another girlfriend with her that day which was very helpful as she had to run around for her but her friend seen something's that made her question if Jess was telling the truth about the baby.

In the meantime, on the news there was a disappearance of the girl that Landon use to date. This caught the eye on those that knew Landon. Beth and Landon were brought in and questioned but soon released after no evidence was formed against him. Landon was not happy because Beth's story, as he said was not truthful.

So, with out telling the rest of this story, is Jess really pregnant? Is Landon reliable for his ex-girlfriends death? Will David and Beth find their way back together? Lets just say this book took a turn that was so unreal. I could not put the book down the closer it got to the end.

This (brief) review is for both books in this series. They're a solid 3.5, both books, but they were not what I was expecting. I usually don't mind spoilers, but I think that would do an injustice to the first one, but I will say, it wasn't what I was thinking. I got the first on one KU and borrowed the second.

It was good. It lacked the crazy twists from the first book but I did appreciate how much David fought for Beth.

I’m so glad these two get their HEA. They deserved it after everything they went through. They overcome their cheating became strong because of it. David really was swoon worthy. He was sweet and alpha. I couldn’t help but love him. While some parts of the story were predictable, I still enjoyed the twists. I do feel like everything with Jess (the chick David cheated with) was very unresolved for me. We don’t ever find out what truly happens with her. We know, but at the same time we don’t. She just dropped out of the book. I will be reading Katya’s story eventually. I’m was pulled to her. 3.5 stars #2OCCJD

When we left David & Beth at the end of This Day Forward, they had both been battered by the events of their past. Each of them had made serious errors within their relationship and faced a future severely altered by the consequences.

I ended This Day Forward with a pretty strong dislike for Beth, David, and Jess. These people were supposed to care for one another and it seemed like none of them adhered. I entered into Forsaking All Others with the hope (and to be honest, a whole lot of cynicism) that some part of this situation would be redeemable.

Beginning the story, I do have to say the mistakes were well spread and the consequences numerous. That said, each of the characters were facing those consequences and dealing with them. Within these mistakes, it helped the characters to really understand themselves and their expectations in life.
Were their choices right? No.
Am I still upset at them for hurting people they proclaimed to love? Yes.

This story gives the characters a chance to really explore their mistakes. They're now living in the consequences and having to sift through them in order to come out on the other side. Everyone is hurt. Everyone has changed. This is real, to me, and a great representation of how choices can affect every aspect of our own lives, and those close to us.

I can't give away all the details, but let's just say it broke my heart, had me in tears, and then put me back together. If I'm being honest, I wasn't all the way on board at first, but about halfway through I was in. Such a beautiful story about love, choices, life, mistakes, consequences, and finding your way back from the edge of the abyss.
“For better. For worse. That's the funny thing. We've had both. I'd still choose him every time. It might not be your typical fairy tale, but it's mine. It's real. It's raw--it's the most beautiful kind of love. The kind that can come back from infidelity. The kind of love that can withstand the emotional and physical trauma of the last eighteen months. The kind of love that will fight and even kill if necessary. We aren't promised a ‘happily ever after,’ but I will keep choosing him--everyday. Isn't that the point of all this? To find the person for whom your soul whispers, ‘This is the one.’ And while it may not always be happy, we will live for each other forever after. And that's enough for me.

⚠️Spoilers + rant⚠️

I read this duet for all the drama but I needed more from the second book. I detest cheating but I went in knowing they both did it so (in my mind) at least they were even 🤷‍♀️. But they came off blasé at times about the situation and the hero seems more angry than hurt at the heroine's affair. For two people who completely wrecked their marriage and shattered each others trust, their reconciliation was too easy.

We don't get to see them in counseling where all the hurt and working things through would take place. We just get a brief mention of it. It took 6 weeks of separation before they were back in each others lives and the hero was trying to win her over. And she only hesitated because the OW(her evil former BFF) was claiming to be pregnant.

The hero confesses to being unfaithful 3 seperate times with the OW who he didn't even like - in his words "she was just there" wrong place, wrong time(though he still encouraged her friendship with the heroine 🙄 ugh!). But the heroine had a full blown, months long relationship with the OM, where they went on dates in public and feelings were involved.

Both of them were also going to keep what they'd done a secret when they reconciled before the accident, but then everything came out because the OW and OM decided they weren't going to let that happen. That tells me more about the kind of people they are.

Who's worse? I don't know, they both suck. The hero is the one that started this chain of events by putting work first (taking on projects in different cities and being away from home for days at a time) and then pulling away and being cold after his father's death but instead of confronting him and not taking no for an answer, the heroine walked on egg shells and turned to another. Maybe they deserve each other 🤷‍♀️. I don't like that the OW just disappeared after a while and we never get to see her punished for her scheming. And the direction that was taken with the OM was just more OTT unnecessary drama and I was over it by that point. I'm not even going to talk about the cringe of the epilogue 😂.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I was so happy to finally be able to read the conclusion of Beth and David's story.

Told from 2 different viewpoints - Beth and David - I found it got slightly repetitive, with each character relaying the scene from their own point of view - almost word for word. That being said, I really like Shannon Myers style of writing. It reminds me of Aleatha Romig - of whom I am also a big fan. A well written, suspenseful romance that resolved things at a decent pace, rather than dragging it out or being too convenient and trite. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and read it in a few hours - children and house cleaning be damned!

As a guy, this type of book isn't something I'd usually read. However, I'm glad I did! I don't recall ever crying due to a fictional book, but this one made me weep like a 4 year old with a skinned knee. Shannon has a gift for storytelling and truly making you care about her characters. Even reading about the secondary characters (anyone not named David or Beth), I wanted to find out what was going on in their lives, as well. There are a few spots where the story is repetitive, but since it's told from two perspectives, it makes complete sense. I don't want to ruin the ending, but the violence isn't gratuitous - it's needed to bring closure.

Book two was far more enjoyable than the first in the series. The author created a very interesting plot
with added drama & the story moved quite quickly. I also found the characters were more engaging, including the heroine, who I had a huge issue with in the first book.

This was written with dual POV's & the author practically repeated the exact same dialogue & scenario in at least two chapters. There was actually nothing new in these chapters so I just skipped them. It would have been nice to see the repercussions that Jess faced after her antics but I think there's a book coming out with her & Nate's story.

Part two ends with a HEA which is the least this couple could hope for after everything they've been through. A great epilogue!

This was really only half a book as every scene was written from each of their point of view but exactly the same so not necessary
Hence struggled with stars because this has affected the first book which was good.
