World renowned narcissistic abuse expert and respected leader in her field, Randi Fine writes a brutally honest, gripping autobiographical account of her bizarre life growing up with a narcissistic mother and the pattern of adult trauma that follows. With Ms. Fine’s signature “have coffee with me and chat” writing style, her intriguing stories, and her host of fascinating, memorable, three dimensional characters that leap off the page, this book is a page turner.Cliffedge Road is the first and only book to characterize the life-long progression of complications caused by narcissistic child abuse. But the true focus of the story is the author’s dauntless determination to change herself and rise above the lot in life she’s been given. In a serious tone lightened by strategic bouts of comic relief, Ms. Fine masterfully evokes a range of emotions. Using her life as an example she teaches us that no matter the circumstances there is always hope. Nothing is impossible. Miracles do happen.
I first want to thank BookSirens as well as the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
I don't know where to start on my review - this book left me with my jaw dropped. As the author starts with the beginnings of her life I thought it progressed a bit to quickly, but then when she discusses her life with the meeting of her first husband you really get to know her and her life.
What really hit home for me was "Wow, is this my life she is writing about?" Their were so many similarities it was truly uncanny. I am only a year younger, our children were born the same years (just reverse gender) and our daughters even got married the same day and year! Our mothers and fathers were exactly the same. I could go on and on.
Anyways, this is an excellent read and I am so happy that her life has turned out loving and deserving as mine has. Thank you for this terrific opportunity to read a terrific book.
I DISCOVERED RANDI FINE WHILE SEARCHING FOR BOOKS TO HELP ME DEAL WITH A VERY TOXIC DIVORCE. THANK GOD FOR HER. SHE IS A GIFTED THERAPIST AND AN EXPERT IN NARCISSISTIC ABUSE IN RELATIONSHIPS. SHE HAS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE FOR ME WHEN I COULD FIND NO ONE ELSE WHO COULD UNDERSTAND AND GUIDE ME. SHE SAVED MY LIFE!
It can't be easy living with an addict. In this memoir, Randi Fine details the ups and downs of her relationship with her husband, Keith. Although he clearly loves Randi, his addiction to drugs makes their relationship impossible. The book describes in detail the horrific experiences Randi had to go through... and is a lesson for anyone dating someone with an addiction.
This was a quick, interesting read. Difficult to believe it's non-fiction since it had all the elements of a Lifetime movie. When someone is an addict, there's no way out. Randi lived her life in constant fear of what would come next. And as much as she loved her husband, she knew she couldn't stay in the relationship. Her strength in these circumstances is amazing.
