Franklin the Turtle

Franklin and the Case of the New Friend

Rate this book
Franklin the turtle and his good friend Beaver are playing on the merry-go-round in the park when they discover a hand-drawn picture of a skunk girl with her skunk parents. But there aren't any skunk families living in Woodland, so who could have left this drawing? It's a real mystery. ?A mystery!? they both shout. ?That sounds like a job for the Super Cluepers!? Franklin, Beaver and five more of their friends --- in their Super Clueper personas, of course --- gather together to begin plotting their strategy. First they must find the skunk girl, then they can ask her if she wants to be their new friend!

Combining adventure, mystery and a heartwarming tale about making new friends, this appealing Franklin title is perfect for very young children. Based on the popular 3D-animated television series Franklin and Friends, the Franklin stories continue to be favorites with small children because of the pitch-perfect way they resonate with their own real-world problems. Here, youngsters are encouraged to be curious about the world around them and to work at figuring out things they don't understand. Teachers and librarians will be gratified by the group's decision to begin solving their mystery by first heading to the library. This title provides an excellent story to read aloud to a group. And it's ready-made as a tie-in for a character education lesson on empathy, compassion, inclusiveness or teamwork.

Franklin and his Super Cluepers are off on another adventure. They want to discover the artist of a drawing they found of a mysterious skunk family.

This short story is a perfect blend of educational and entertainment for young minds. It encourages young children to be kind and respectful to new friends and those that may be different from themselves. With the bright and vivid illustrations that bring attention to the story, it engages a small reader and holds their attention. It actively encourages them to participate by creating their own stories by the pictures.

This is a book that I will be purchasing to add to my grandchildren’s Christmas list!

Franklin And The Case Of The New Friend (Franklin And Friends) by Caitlin Drake Smith was a great children’s book featuring Franklin, the little turtle boy. In this adventure, Franklin and his friends find a picture but they don’t know who the artist is. They now have a mystery to solve and in typical Franklin-style, things will not go smoothly.

The writing style and illustrations were a perfect blend for a children’s book. And, as is typical in a Franklin book, there are lessons to be learned by your child, while they are enjoying the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a child who loves Franklin and enjoys hearing about his adventures.

Franklin and Beaver are playing in the park when they find a picture of a skunk family. However, they don't know of a skunk family that lives in Woodland. So Franklin and Beaver decide that it's time for the Super Cluepers to solve the mystery of who the picture belongs to.

The illustrations appear to be digital and the illustrations are very crisp and colorful. This book is based off of the Franklin TV show and introduces different ways to have fun with friends. This is a very simple story for young kids to enjoy.

I received this advanced copy from Kids Can Press through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

We received a copy of this book as a Firstreads giveaway. My 19 month old daughter was quite excited to open the package and find her friend Franklin inside. The other Franklin books at our house are older books that have been handed down, so the illustrations seemed a bit different to me but they were vivid and colourful and she recognized the characters right away. We really enjoyed this story. The "lesson" in this book was a little more subtle than in the other Franklin books we've read, which I think is a positive thing.

The illustrations of this Franklin story book were top notch with bright colors and eye catching designs. The story however just didn't seem up to par with other Franklin story books I have read. I found parts unnecessary to the plot which could have been eliminated and the book shortened without a problem. I also felt like the "Super Cluepers"" was too much of a nonsensical name for the friends detective group. But as always, Franklin is the cutest turtle ever..

Received from NetGalley. Franklin was one of my favorite series of children's books when I was younger. This story was cute, but I didn't think it was as strong as some of the older stories. The illustrations were interesting because they look very 3D and computer animated. Kids today might prefer that, but I prefer pictures that actually look like drawings.

It`s a beautiful book for very young children, with beautiful coloured drawings. Children will like the animal story developed through it.
