Britain has been fighting the Second World War for five years and, with his father away serving in the navy, Jimmy feels responsible for looking after his mother and sister. Forced to spend the night in a shelter, when he finally gets home, there's no home to go to. The house has been bombed out and his mother and sister are nowhere to be found. Good book and all I don’t know what I was expecting from a Children’s book but really disappointing I had this book in my bookshelf for years and I just read it now and it’s so short I could read in one seating if it wasn’t so predictable but it’s a good book if you are a child (who is a ww2 girly)
