For quite some time, a book did not grab me as much. I could not stop reading. It tells a story of a monk who sets out on a journey to the Buddhist sacred places of India to find out more than he expected.
The book is filled with parables and allegories. The main character and his mysterious companion are dragged into visions and dreams, mixing with reality. Time and space do not matter, as well as the direction a river flows. All you need is to open your mind, and you might see things your narrow viewpoint did not allow you to see before. You will unveil stories within stories. And once you think you've figured it all out, you get back to the beginning.
Did I understand everything? I doubt so. Did I cry? Yes. Will I get back to the book in the future? I hope so.
I just have a fair warning: You will need some basic knowledge about the history of Buddhism and the life of Prince Siddhartha. Or will to google.
