Finding junk items and making them beautiful again has been Ciana Brunetti’s life’s work. Her skills and work ethic have propelled her career forward, allowing her to specialize in home renovations for Hollywood’s elite, her newest client being no exception. Late night talk show host and one of Hollywood’s hottest bachelors, Nate Haybeck is fascinated by her designs and also by her, to Ciana’s surprise. It seems Nate has his own plans for Ciana that promise to be more than just the ones they agreed to on paper. Ciana’s self-imposed rule to never get involved with clients is challenged on a daily basis with Nate’s adorable flirting, his abundant charm, and his caring demeanor. Her crazy schedule leaves little time for romance, all while she’s in denial that this god-like specimen of a man would truly be attracted to her plus size figure. But more and more, Ciana finds herself considering the possibility of Nate’s flirtations. She hasn’t been with anyone in months, so maybe the perfect situation is staring her in the face. Her heart can’t deny that so much could go right. So very, very right… **** Author’s This is a full-length novel with lots of steamy romance and a happily ever after for a plus-size heroine. This book contains sexual content and language. *** Bonus content included. ***
If you're looking for a spicy and sweet romance novel with the 'opposites attract' trope, look no further. This book has ALL THE FEELS, and also something I wish more romances had: a fat woman as the MC. Add in the swoonworthy and surprisingly caring star Nate, certain decorative pillows (*wink nudge* if you know, you know), and loads of emotional baggage, and you're in for a ride. I read the ebook shortly after it was released and now that I got my hands on a paperback, I'm looking forward to a re-read to savour the chemistry between these two sassy, stubborn, relatably flawed, and absolutely beautiful people.
It’s important to see representation of larger women in fiction - especially without the fetish aspect of it, and this book has that. Speaking from personal experience as a bigger woman, I can closely relate to Luciana, who is a successful entrepreneur, a strong woman with morals and her eye on her career. She’s respectful and not shy, and confident but not egotistical. In her situation, it would be realistic to question whether or not a celebrity has legitimate interest, or if they see her as a challenge since she is constantly testing his authenticity of his attraction and affection. The author nails this realistically timed slow burn, and the work/client relationship almost perfectly. This book is a cute *and* sexy romance - perfectly in line with the author’s overall self-label of fluff with smut. Definitely recommend!
I loved the steam that filled this book. It was impossible not to eat it up and drown in all the fun moments. I most enjoyed the relationship between the cinnamon roll hero and the woman with self-esteem issues. I found it relatable, especially the aspects around trying to date while fighting past issues and pain, not to mention the low self-esteem that often develops from dating. The setting was different, and I loved the talk about design and taking unusual things and making them beautiful. I've never wanted someone to design my house more. The villains were irredeemable, which I fully believe in. Too many books try to turn them into good people when sometimes villains are just villains. Well done, Cass Michaels.
