3 stars. I liked that Heath was a chef and Alicia was a Sommelier, both occupations that I personally haven't read about all that much in contemporaries so that was cool. This series is adorable.

Heath and Alicia are hot and cute together. A perfect pairing, if you will. This story is short and sweet with a steamy ending.

Heath Ludwig, Chef at The Berkeley House Restaurant, offers Chef’s Table events at Berkeley that are always popular. It gives him a chance to experiment with different cuisines and techniques for a generally receptive group of people. This evening, Alicia Willard, a sommelier at Travers, is a guest who catches the eye of the Chef in a big way. But before he can get to her table before she leaves, another woman grabs his arm to flirt with him and he misses his chance. Fortunately, when he visited her table, he had found out about her workplace and visited there two days later.
Heath asks Alicia to choose a special wine for him, and he asks her to come to his table when she finishes work so he can share a glass of the wine with her. Unable to resist the opportunity, she agrees and ends up staying for port and dessert afterwards. They share life stories and comfortably laugh with each other. She accepts his request for another date.
Entering Travers to pick Alicia up for the date, and being in the restaurant business, Heath immediately notices something is wrong. A worried Alicia tells him they are down a server, a sommelier, and a sous chef and she won’t be able to leave. He asks if they can handle being short one server and she says that alone would not be a problem. But, she says, they are booked full tonight and can’t work without a sous chef. “You’ve got one,” he says immediately and makes his way into the kitchen. It was even kind of nice letting his mind go on autopilot while he simply followed the head chef’s instructions. At the end of a successful evening, he and Alicia had a picnic under the moonlight at a table in the park.
I definitely enjoyed this well-written book. The author packed so much into the story line that nothing felt lacking. Heath and Alicia are amazing characters who are unaware that they have been set up to meet by a matchmaker. The match was obviously perfect as the reader can feel their emotions and see how they really enjoy each other. Will they find a HEA? It won’t take much to figure that out!

I liked the first one better. This one didn't give me the humor and connection to the mc's like the first one did.
Cute, super short with one steamy adult scene.
Hopefully the next one will be better.
They make a decent pallet cleanser and 'In-between' read.

I read and enjoyed the first book so it was a no brainer to try this one and it was another good older man/younger woman insta-love romance. This was a great little read and I thought Heath and Alicia were great together I liked this book it was a good quick read

The perfect pairing find each other with a little help
Heath is a top chef and owns The Berkeley House Restaurant. At one of his Chef's Table events he notices Alicia and immediately attracted to her. She is a young curvy woman who seems to know about food and wine and he admires the way she tastes and enjoys both during the event. He does introduce himself to her and learns she is a Sommelier at the Travers restaurant, At the end of the event he tries to reach her before she leaves however he is interrupted by another woman. But he knows where she works so a few days later he shows up for dinner with a plan to engage her, which he does by asking her to pick wine for him. Thus starts their relationship.
Love at First Bite is a story of the perfect pair finding each other in an understated and completely believable way, by an old fashioned matchmaker working behind the scenes with the two parties not knowing about it. Jane Fox has once again written a very fun, sweet and lovely short story with some nice heat and a great HEA and epilogue.

Alicia is sommelier and has her own restaurant which she loves. When she gets a gift certificate for Chef's Tables at Chef Ludwig restaurant she is over the moon with excitement. Heath is a top chef and owns The Berkley House Restaurant and he when he sees Alicia at one of his events he is drawn to her. However someone interrupt him before he can make it to her table and he misses his chance to talk to her. Heath isn't about to let that stand in his way he finds out where she works and looks her up. Alicia is stunned when she sees Heath at her restaurant but thrilled to talk with him. Sparks fly between them and soon they are making plans. Will Alicia take a chance with Heath? Can he see that Alicia is nothing like his ex?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is another great short story in this series but don't let its length fool you It still gives all the feels that you can want.
Heath Ludwig is a 41 year old chef and restaurant owner who has recently separated from his girlfriend because he wanted to start a family and she didn't. He runs chefs table events at his restaurant as a way to try new food. Alicia Willard a sommelier at another restaurant receives a voucher to attend the chefs table at his restaurant not realising that it is all part of the Zaftig dating agency's plans. They hit it off but when he tries to make a date with her another woman latches on to him and by the time he is free Alicia has left So the next day he heads to the restaurant she works at where organised chaos is raining they are down many members of staff including the sous chef so he steps in to fill the breach. This is indeed love at first sight but will it last and will they get a HEA

Love at first bite is book two in the zaftig dating agency series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Heath is a successful businessman and a chef. When he meets Alicia, he knows she is the woman for him. Alicia is a sommelier that loves her job. She is attracted to Heath but will she give love a chance?
The chemistry between Heath and Alicia is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. Heath and Alicia made a cute couple.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Zaftig Dating Agency series. In this book, Heath is a chef who owns his own restaurant and thinks he is too busy to find love. One night when he is hosting an event at his restaurant, he meets Alicia, a sommelier who works at another restaurant. Heath and Alicia talk and Heath is interested in seeing her again. When Heath went to her restaurant to see her again, he asked her to dinner and they began seeing each other. This was a sweet romance between them. I love how Heath just wanted to spend time with Alicia and was willing to help out any way he could. Good one.

This is a wonderful older man, younger woman romance!
I have really enjoyed reading this book, the author did such a great job developing the characters, that I feel like I really know them, and not just the major two characters, but the minor ones too.
Also, it caused me to lose quite a bit of sleep while I was reading it, because it was so hard to put down at night.
What you need to know: this book contains no cheating, no cliff-hangers and a HEA.

First I want to say that normally these super short books don’t earn a four and if I were comparing it to some of the longer book I give a four they wouldn’t be equal. That being said, for this type of book I think she more than earns the score. I’ve read a couple in this series and she’s the first author that I’ve felt has successfully pulled off writing these “mini” books. You get a full storyline, she somehow gets you to connect with the characters with only a few paragraphs and makes their insta-love make sense. I’d love to see what she could do with twice the word count.

I really enjoyed this book. Heath and Alicia are great characters that don't know that they have been set up to meet by a matchmaker. Heath is a chef and Alicia is a sommelier, the meet when Alicia attends one of Heath's chef's table events. Things develop quickly from there. I loved the happy ever after. Definitely recommend reading this one!

I wish Zaftig Dating Agency was a real thing, because Miz Zaftig is REALLY good at her job. I absolutely adore Jane Fox. Her books are quick reads, but they pack a punch to the feels that will leave you gasping. The story here of Heath and Alicia is no different. Please tell me the next book is close on the way, because I don't want to wait!

This was such a great quick read! It's only four chapters with an epilogue but it's so well written. You get sucked in with these characters and you want to root for them. Great romance with a touch of steam perfect for your lunch break. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Heath and Alicia’s love story was a lovely way to spend a half hour! As always, a completely satisfying story in 4 chapters! I loved that Heath was a strong hero without being an alpha-hole. And Alicia is perfect for him :)

Book 2 in this series and I enjoyed it as much as I did book one. I liked how Heath and Alicia met and how he made sure they met again. What Heath did for her at work just showed what an amazing man he was and made me sigh. A short story but a good one.

I've read a lot of books written by Jane Fox; she has done a great job at writing a good short story; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.

An enjoyable and well written book two in the Zaftig Dating Agency series! The story-line is fast pace, witty, and engaging. The characters are well developed and likeable; the chemistry between them is instant, off the charts, and things move quickly between them. Definitely recommended!
