Karis Booth uses her psychic powers to solve another murder, with help from her friend and neighbour Peggy. On a Sunday afternoon, a child’s party is held at the café which Karis owns with her sister. Just before the party commences, Karis experiences a psychic vision in which she sees a shadowy figure tumble down the stairs in the café — apparently to their death. Concerned for the safety of their party guests, a watchful eye is kept on the stairs to make sure no one uses them. But that doesn’t stop a man falling down them a short while later. The man - a clown called Dazzle - survives the tumble. As the party begins, Dazzle proceeds to insult one person after another. And not long after, Karis discovers his dead body in the kitchen. The police think he died as a result of a burglary gone wrong. But Karis knows Dazzle was murdered, and with help from her friend Peggy, they set out to prove it.

April Fernsby lives in the north of England in a county called Yorkshire. Yorkshire has its fair share of hauntings and supernatural events, including a witch called Mary Bateman, aka The Yorkshire Witch, whose skeleton now hangs in a local museum.
April loves all things supernatural and mysterious. Her favourite book as a child was ‘The Faraway Tree’ as it took the reader into a different world where unusual creatures lived. April looked for a similar tree near her house but never found it.
Her Brimstone Witch series involves the main character, Cassia Winter, going through a cellar door and into another world where magical creatures live, and mysteries abound.
A Tragic Party by April Germany is another great story in the series. It has a psychic gal, her sis pregnant with twins, a friend that doesn't know how to mind her own business, a murder mystery, and great fun figuring it out! Always a joy reading these books!
I have enjoyed each book in the Psychic Cafe Mystery series. The main characters Karis Booth, her sister Erin, DCI Sebastian Parker, and Peggy are a lot of fun to read about. When Karis experiences a psychic vision she never knows where it will lead. Will there be a murder? Was there a murder in the past? In A Tragic Party, the sisters are hosting a children's birthday party at the cafe and a clown has been hired to entertain the guests. What ensues is Karis and Peggy in sleuth mode. I especially liked the end of this book.
