An abomination or a savior… I can't be both.

My welcome at the CEG Space Station didn't go as planned.

Arriving as a new mother and meeting the male responsible for my situation was only the beginning of my problems. Now I have to prove to politicians that I deserve to be a citizen instead of property, prevent the scientists from thrusting me back into experiments, and deal with others trying to hunt me—all while trying to adjust to having new responsibilities and a growing clan.

And then there is Kaede—I am sorry, Agent Kaede—who doesn't know what he wants and doesn’t care who he hurts along the way.

Sometimes I wish I could just dream myself away to my familiar island where it all started…

Good follow up to PA: Found. The world continues to open up giving you more peeks at it. They're finally off The Destiny. You meet a lot of new characters, some unremarkable, but most sparking even more life into everything. I'm looking forward to where things go next.

This continues the complicated scifi RH story of genetic imperatives and societal collisions. Complex but not confusing, and occasionally frustrating, this is a solid and intriguing story.

I'll read the next one.

This was a pretty good second book.

I wasn't surprised by the addition to Selena's harem. I was surprised that a certain person wasn't added to it, but I am hoping that changes in the upcoming books.

I am enjoying the overall plot of the story and there are just enough sexy times to keep the story balanced.

A great read.

I appreciated thorough character development, but the book felt long with the repetitive relationship issues and the FMC Selena's swings between extreme confidence and insecurities. I would have liked to see the cubs featured more and family times.

I wasn't quite sure what was going on with a bunch of side characters introduced like the Chamber Master Mwe and the business owner of G-Spot. Selena seemed to trust them all way too quickly and familiarly. I felt that the story was going a little much with an "island of misfits."

Still interested in seeing where the action goes and who else gets to join her harem...

Oddly interesting at times, soo dry I felt the need to stay hydrated at others.

Oddly interesting at times, soo dry I felt the need to stay hydrated at others and clinical and boring at other times.

This just didn’t work for me at any level.
Naaaaa da!
Not . At. All.

Ok, we start exactly the last book left off and while her mystery lover literally and figuratively “F’ed” up, I was excited to see their reunion and see how they moved forward together as a couple and as new parents.
Deep sigh.
⚠️ Always a possibility of spoilers with me ⚠️
Well Serena meets her mystery man and he’s a Prince, sounds like a humanoid type leopard 🐆 or something like that.. A big
Ole cat like creature/alien. Got the sexy purring and a tail .
You know I’m not sure to describe him but you know the “cubs” were furry soo think of halo shifted werewolves ie shifters and I’ll sure you’ll get it.
Anyway I was soo excited but while I’m all for Selena not be walked on and standing up for her rights and the rights of those she cares for . This didn’t feel ( ever!) like the reconnections of two souls who are supposedly “fated mates” and had been building towards something together for nine l o n g years. Ok, Zirene ( his name ) F’ed in ways I can’t imagine any H I’d ever love would . Getting her pregnant w/out ever even bringing it up w/her even once in all those years as something he wanted or needed to do or , or going off to chase the evil guys who’d been holding her and others captive without securing her safety first. Seriously, what kind “hero” gets his woman pregnant w/out telling or asking her and then goes off w/out making sure his now pregnant made it safe ?!??!?!?!?
Honestly, his rear should being kicked over both things til the triplets are ready for their version of college. Even after all that , there should have been a warmth,a passion there after nine l o n g years of supposed love and longing . Instead it felt dry and almost clinical at times. I know Serena is young and the poor B has been through a heck of a lot.
I know but still. There was t a natural flow to this. Her and Zinene were soo still w/each other, her other guys hovered and fussed over her like mother hens and every one was on egg shells waiting Morris’s about up setting her.
Zirene’s POV was usually just a big story no dump about his society and all his grand plans fo3 her and all that needed to be done.
Dear gods these ppl bored the F out of me. Nine chapters and 1% in and I honestly did NOT give a damn about any of these dry A formal ppl and couldn’t keep going .
They were dry and stiff and formal and fussy and boring .
If they were food soaking them in your dips or sauces could have helped . Even Gordon Ramsey would have thrown up his hands.
So I die and out of purely morbid curiosity I looked at the last chapter. And snorted and mild anger and disbelief.
Serena STILL hadn’t let go of her self-righteous anger and was only in the VERY LAST CHAPTER letting him explain himself ( though I have a feeling he ran like a coward at times as well) and was finally letting have sex w/her again and FINALLY complete their “claiming”.
All I could think was “Seriously?????” You two lil 💩’s take til the end of the damn story to bare,y work your 💩 out ?
Seriously?????
I know I’m being dramatic, but that was just ridiculous to me.
Then ,then when he’s taking her to bed,we find out Selena now has four other guys not just the two she started the book w..
Soo once again curious I go back a few chapters to find out who or what else is in her bed.
Imagine my shock when I out it’s the two mainly “gay” princes from the previous book. Ooookay.
Those two ms,Ed can do what ever that want but what ever the reason she added them, I got the feeling it wasn’t because she was in love w/them and we all already knew the two makes were in love w/each other.
Soo as least as far as they’re concerned that makes us less reverse harem and more polyamorous set up.
That just made this even less appetizing to me.
Would I recommend ? No.
But I know this is more of personal taste kinda thing.
Others might/will like it but I found it dry and boring w/a very clumsy flow that was awkward and wasn’t organic . Clinical no feels.
Thanks but I’m done ✅. Good luck to the writer but no kids re foe me.

Fmc kills read

I like this story, well maybe the idea of this story. My issues lies with Selena, her personality is so contradicting it borders on madness. I've tried to like Selena but I found myself mumbling for her to get over herself already! She wants things to go back the way they were with the Prince yet at everyone corner she's reminding him of his mistakes, it's like a broken record over and over in the story. Honestly she just is a brat, she rolls her eyes, is dramatic and has outburst everywhere it's ridiculous. And then you also get this Selena who takes charge and shows ppl who's boss, it comes out of know where? I honestly think the character is bi polar. Her choosing mates for her clan is down right weird, she has no real chemistry with any of them before she actually takes them as hers, now I forgave this in the first book, but now it's getting out of hand, I thought the other princes were a couple who didn't want a nestqueen? And I didn't get the vibe Selena even liked them like that, it's weird. The man she's not with have off the charts chemistry with her it's mind blowing! What exactly is going on? Another issue, Selena constantly being in her mind crying woooo is me, I wanted a story, the book revolves around Selena and her many issues, and yes I get it, she's the fmc, the book is suppose too, but since selena's mind is such a Damn kill joy it took the story to a boring place.

I didn't enjoy this instalment as much as book 1.

Selena started getting on my nerves. She didn't spend much time with her cubs and is collecting men faster then ever.

I'll take a break before continuing.

A very complex and moving story!
Selena is a quick study, arming herself with as much knowledge as possible to make her way in a totally unfamiliar world, with rules of behavior and expectations for which she is unprepared. Can she prove herself to be non-threatening? To avoid further experimentation? Will she and her babies be safe? She seems to me to be in some kind of trouble most of the time in this long novel. She gathers more clan members and protectors along her journey. Her Aldawi prince, Zirene, is the most frustrating of these. I’d really like to shake a bit of sense into him! To be fair, his upbringing has not prepared him for wisdom in dealing with a woman, but still...
The story ends happily (though unfinished). The dangers facing her have not yet been resolved, so I’m eagerly awaiting the next in this fascinating series. In a few months? I hope!

💘

So I'm in LOVE with this series because we have an amazing woman who has been through the ringer but continues to come out of the other side stronger!! And her mates are absolutely drool worthy!! I cannot wait for the next book to come out because I know that it is about to go DOWN and Selena is gonna show everyone whose boss and how strong she is. I am glad about the additions to her clan, and that the conflict between her and a certain make has been resolved. Also I cannot wait to see who else joins her of because we all know that it will be growing and she will gain so.e cool powers plus awesome men to love her and her offspring!! Totally recommend, Absolutely 💘!!

Amazing sequel

Amazing sequel to a very engaging first book. This series keeps getting better and better. I loved the world building and that the different alien cultures are being explored.

Would love for the fmc and her harem to get a little break and see how they interact in non-dramatic scenarios (maybe this could be a bonus scene?). They are always so busy emotionally rescuing and reassuring one another that it’s hard to see what their dynamic is like without the conflict.

Great installment!

Selena is growing as a character and so is her harem. This series is hard to put down! I am hopeful that Kaede will get it together and end his torment. I am also hoping for more of the Fab Five and Mwe. This is one of the more unique and entertaining books I have read in a while, very well done!

This book needs more than five ☆☆☆☆☆! It was even better than book one which I really loved!!! And that ending was perfect, it demands that I read book three, but I must suffer a while before it's published. Damn book hangover!!!

Selena is growing as an individual. Though she still struggles to understand the world around her. The guys are a great help yet sometimes a hindrance too. Finally meeting her babies daddy is nerve wracking. Mistakes are made, but that's understandable when several species has to work together. Fabulous surprise await the readers which I will not mention since the contains spoilers. All in all I loved this book so hard!!!! ♡

Hurry up and one-click this amazing sci-fi romance. I promise you won't regret it!!!

Good story with aliens that are truly alien

I enjoyed both books so far. The aliens are truly unique from most stories in this category. They don't look like humans but Jade still manages to make them attractive and endearing as you come to know them better. The FMC is really coming into her own with confidence and leadership. I hope we get resolution with her master guard Kaede in the 3rd installment. I think he might be my favorite.

Not as good as the first book. And Selena became extremely annoying. I like a strong heroine as much as the next person but the fact that she constantly got angry about minor things just grated on me. She was really ungrateful to Zirene. Okay he impregnated you without consent. On one hand yes you’re allowed to be angry and take as long as you need. But she kept throwing it in his face despite the many times he apologized and she never gave him the benefit of the doubt like she does with her other mates.

Speaking of, they were clearly submissive to her but almost to the point it was unattractive. It would have been nice to have a different dynamite at least once in a while. Odelm was such a whiner. Okay he had low self-worth and it was taking a while for him to get on board. But I did feel he was kind of emotionally manipulative especially near the end of this book. Xylo was perfect and understanding. Kaede was bordering on creepy. As you can tell I obviously like Zirene. He did bad that he tried to rectify by doing good. And that final scene? Whew! More than made up for the awkward couplings throughout the book.

The political troubles I expected in this book took too little of it. I was disappointed. Much of the reading was spent waiting for Selena to move on from her drama to address the threat to her life. We barely to see anything related to that. Hopefully the third book is better.

I liked the story, but boy did the characters annoy me...
Selena was more unstable here than when she was pregnant ;) the girl was raging one moment, then crying, then giggling and hugging her mates. Oh and suddenly she was a great public speaker and managed to show a whole Assembly of CEG races that she is her own person that deserves rights. She was betrayed by her Aldawi mate, but she wanted to give him another chance, then she didn't, then she did again. Jesus, it was such a rollercoaster.
Prince Zirene was a fucking idiot. He was supposed to be a smart leader of the second biggest part of the Aldawi Empire, yet he was making such stupid mistakes in his relationship with Selena that it was unbelievable. They knew each other for nine years, but his behavior suggested that he didn't know shit about her. His fucking brother, an heir to the Aldawi throne, that had never met her before was nicer and more respectful toward Selena.
Odelm had self-esteem issues that I could understand, Xylo was a great and supportive mate, but they both had moments of saying annoying thing to Selena. Princes V'dim and Z'fir were great, so grateful and sweet towards Selena. Kaede was a dick that didn't know what he wanted.
I hoped for more scenes with the cubs, I know Selena didn't choose to be a mother, but she was happy to have her babies...then they were taken care of by everyone else, but her.

As with the first book, I am having conflicted thoughts about this series. Again, I love the various alien cultures, the beliefs, the anatomy and environments. I like the Assembly and the political tension being brought into play. I like the scientist and research team. Some of these characters are fleshed out with clear beliefs, feelings, and reactions. That is why I give this 3 instead of 2 stars.

Other characters, however, are falling somewhat flat and not developing. Selena herself, as a main character, is not developing well at all. The character reacts in such wildly childish ways one moment and seems incredibly intelligent for an uneducated ex-salve the next moment. She is extremely shy for seemingly no reason and then bawdy and overly bold minutes later.

The cubs seem to be a complete after-thought in this entire book. The princes still have very little characteristics and they were introduced in the beginning of book one, so they seem like after-thoughts as well. And there seems to be no set plotline for this particular book. Just one dramatic scene after the next with little or no transitional scenes. Just abrupt drama one after another. Some of the drama doesn't even seem remotely needed to further any type of storyline or idea, either.

3/5 ⭐
2/5 🌶️

Tropes
- Fated Mates
- Class Difference between MCs
- The Chosen One
- Damsel in Distress…in space
- Alien Culture with Reverse Harems
- Humans are enslaved/test subjects in a galaxy of more advanced species….again.
- Alphahole
- “I can show you the world..shining, shimmering, splendid!”
- The Democratic Order of Planets, I mean the Galactic Republic, oops! I meant the United Federation of Planets! Wait no…It’s the Conglomerate of the Euph Galaxy (CEG)!!!

📖 My Thoughts
So in the sequel the concept is still really good and the world-building is intriguing…but the execution is still meh. Let’s break it down.

**Pros**
- Still Very alien looking aliens
We have been introduced to even more alien species now, and they are all very unique, including Mr. Mystery Fated Mate.

- World-building
My god, this is the best part of the series honestly. The politics, the history, the powers and tech!!! So cool!

- FMC’s Powers/Explanations
We finally get some of the things we learned in the first book explained, and see FMC learn a little more about what she can do.

- Much better consent and respecting of boundaries

**Cons**
- Still too much inner monologuing
Characters spend too much time thinking over what they need to do instead of actually doing it, or being productive in any way.

- FMC is somehow giving even more emotional whiplash than when she was pregnant
Flip flop, wishy washy, capricious, whatever you wanna call it, this author loves it, both as a writing style and in her FMC.

- FMC IS MENTALLY A 9YR OLD
Omg, everything makes so much more sense! We learn FMC was popped out of a test tube as a 16yr old and then waited 9 years for rescue. She was only conscious 9 years, years she spent in an isolated, traumatic setting. Absolutely everything makes so much more sense.

⚠️ Triggers
- Mentioned Possible Sexual Assault
- Mentioned human experimentation
- Non-consensual pregnancy
- Non-consensual drugging w/an aphrodisiac

🌶️ Spice
There’s tentacles, and vines, and aphrodisiac venom, and spores, and electricity conduction goo and it’s all very fascinating. Felt like there wasn’t as much spice in this one, but it was a little dirtier? There’s some backdoor play and rough sex.

Author couldn't decide what Selenas character should be, so she gave her conflicting reactions and thoughts and behaviour. There is no consistency of Selenas character. By book two, readers should be already introduced to her, be able to grasp who she is as a person and start to see her growth. Instead, Selena throws her character in opposing directions and reader can't get a read on who she is. Author does try to clarify it with telling the reader what we are supposed to think about Selena, but it does not match with how she acts.
The story. Not enough is happening in this book. It starts off well, but... The only thing that does really happen is Selena getting more mates, most of whom she has no chemistry with, making some scenes afterward very uncomfortable for reader. I understand there is an underlying plan author have for the whole series, but the execution of it comes unnaturally.

Tolerable enough to continue to book three.

Heroine hard work

I kid you not. I am a qtr way through and I am finding it very difficult to continue. As my title says, Selena is seriously hard work and I am so disconnected from her. Her character goes through hyped up mood swings. One minute she is self conscious and depressed and the next she’s lashing out at her mates. For someone that was created in a test tube, kept a prisoner and treated like dirt by her masters, she is overly smart. And I can’t help comparing to real world scenarios which is the opposite. I see this one is going to drag on like book one with unnecessary information. I’ll put this aside and read something more reasonable. Maybe I’ll come back to it, maybe I will not.

Finally meets her Shadow

This installment was action packed. Full of yummy male nestmates. I loved all the world building and new creatures introduced. Love the Fab 5, I want Kede to be in her clan. I do want to see what happens next time. Full of revelations and Selena has changed. She is ready to fight for what’s hers. She was whiney at times and it got kind of repetitive. So got tired of her constant rehashing of past issues Selena doesn’t seem to be a good, involved mom. Everyone is taking care of and bonding with her cubs except her. I was like what about Zirene? She got way too much nestmate action but not her Main guy. #teamzirene

Finally i got to meet the baby daddy! AKA Zirene. 💙. I've been waiting since book one. I really really loved him from book one and now even more in book two, even when Selena's is super mad at him. I just wished it hadn’t taken almost the entire book for them to make up 😂. But i will say this: the makeup is so worth it! yum yum! 💙 There’s definitely more story in this book and conflict between all her boys and her new addition to her Harem: when i say new, i dont mean it in "romance". Just keep an open mind as is still developing. You know, friends and all :) Definitely sweet moments and some light drama! Awesome read!

I guess I'm the only one...

But I really dislike Zirene. In my eyes, pretty much everything he has done has been unforgivable. And what little he has done to apologize sure as heck doesn't touch the surface of his arrogance and overall smarm, much less his mistreatment of Selena.

Luckily though, all the rest of Selena's boys are awesome and make up for the one idiot. I can skim his parts and pretend she still hates him if I have to.

And I do truly love the world building, the alienness of everything. I feel like I'm actually reading sci-fi alien romance, and not just another romance with a dyed human. Looking forward to the next book!

Kaede, Kaede, Kaede

Good 2nd installment that shed some light to some of the questions from book 1. Loved Selena's growth although she has a ways to go. Love the addition of nestmates and finally she & dream man worked their stuff out. But the there is Kaede...I want so badly for him to be added to the harem but he just doesn't learn. He's so aggravating! Sometimes you want to hug him and other times...well you get the picture. Anyway if you enjoy scifi you'll enjoy this series.

New enemies as well as new experiences

Part two of Serena's adventures takes us through several incidents which cause her nestmates, her princes and her bodyguard moments of panic.
We meet the Fab Five, the Awaldi Prince's brothers and several new characters.
There is also several new enemies that may cause harm towards her and her clan. One is known but one is unknown and has a terrifying way to reach her.
Read to find out what I am talking about. But fair warning, the book continues into the next with a cliffhanger epilogue.

Interesting world

This is a really well written series. The worldbuilding is top notch. If anything, there might be a bit too much as the author gives a detailed description of everything which sometimes results in nothing feeling important. I got a bit lost in the endless descriptions of people and places. But I do love how elaborate this world is. The characters are dynamic and their reactions are realistic. I'm interested to see where this all goes.

Project: Adapt 2

Second book was almost as good as the first book. I didn't like how Selena took so long to be mature and realize that people are not perfect. Love and forgiveness has to go hand in hand. Hopefully she gets better in the next book and Kaede finally tells her that he loves her. The world building was outstanding and fascinating. Overall story line is so intriguing. Can't wait for the next book in this series. I highly recommend.

Wow… such an amazing universe

There is hardly anything I could say negative about this story. Jade introduced us into a world of color and such an amazing universe. Hot steamy harem for a manufactured human, definitely a special one with gifts to interlock herself with different species of aliens. All these characters are colorful inward and out. Can’t wait to see what happens to this strong fml and her harem. Who else will she add to her growing clan?
