A Doctor in a futuristic world has world turned upside down after a terrorist attack only to find out that his past has more to it than he remembers.

This is a great story about what seems to be a Doctor in a futuristic society set in a Dystopian world. It's packed with lots of action, a militia army, betrayal, a love story, and a plot twist that you have to see for yourself to believe! There's more, but I'm trying to keep my review spoiler free. I really liked the Doctor, don't let the title fool you, I found him to be more like a superhero than a healer.

This is not your typical after the apocalypse story, this is something much more, so make sure to check this one out!

This story is an insight to what we are, what we have become and what we can still turn into.

There was a lot of hope and lot of sadness mixed in with the action. I was genuinely shocked by some chapters, I felt sick because of some of the things that happened to the characters in this book. But it wasn’t put there for shock value or to “keep things interesting”. These things happened to make you stop and think!!

Our main characters were battling with a lot of demons and in this story you get to battle with them.
I have no idea how this story continues in book 2 but I’m interested to find out.

Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this for review!

We are dropped straight into the action and into the mind of Adama. The pace of the story has good ebbs and flows. Some sections draw you into taking time to notice the beauty and majesty of the surroundings and the other characters, while other sections race by and you realize that you have been holding your breath for you do know how long. There are hints along the way that there is no way we are getting the full story in this single book. The ending is not a cliffhanger (I appreciate that) but I WANT MORE! Yes, I need to follow through with this trilogy and this author.

Prometheus Rising is an action packed adventure. The story line is well-written and trilling with twists and turns. The main character, Adama, is well developed and interesting. This is a page turner that grabs you from the first page. D.F. Wink is a new author for me and I am looking forward to reading more of D.F.'s books. Recommend -- you will not be disappointed. Received a copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.

„Prometheus Rising” the first volume in the “Prometheus Dystopian Trilogy” by D.F Wink is an impressive dystopian tale set about sixty years in the future.

Adama, a doctor in a seemingly perfect world, enjoys a happy life until he loses the woman he loves and everything he believes in comes scattering down after a terror incident. Suddenly the truth appears to be just a mere mirage and the past a fake recollection of memories. Confronted with the naked truth Adama is forced to take some drastic decisions to save her love and the principles he abides to. As the mythical Prometheus he evolves from model citizen to revolution leader (almost) in the blink of an eye and learns to adapt his actions according to the circumstances, as he fights for the survival of his world.

The book is both unapologetic and fascinating, narrated from Adamas point of view, we witness the beautiful surroundings as well as the abyss of the human nature. Some events are shocking in extreme but never gratuitous, they always serve a higher purpose, to force the reader to pause and think, not only about the story but also about the real meaning and purpose of living.

D.F. Wink is rich in nuances and extremely enjoyable, a real page-turner with multitude of nuances. The kind of book you cannot put down and will find you re-reading all over again.

This book was actually painful to read and I am relieved to have finished it. I see that many readers have enjoyed it, but for me the constant poor grammar, the superfluous descriptions that did not add to the story, and the irrational behavior of the main characters was very distracting. The author needs to work harder with a professional editor who will catch these errors. I will not be reading any more books by this author.

Looking to a future

I think it is important to read about the people we could become and think about it. This novel gives a good opportunity to do that. I was spellbound. Just reading straight through.

This book will keep you spellbound with a gripping plot, a well-crafted dystopian world and believable characters. The main characters have conflicting points of view that are fully on display as the protagonist finds himself trying to sort it all out as he gropes his way through an increasingly complex world. There are plenty of parallels to our world that will give you pause as you follow his adventures.

Very good book. Lots of action and suspense. Throw in true love and you got a great read. Never hurts to have a little, well, not majic, but close. I read this book twice and the second reading was better than the first, which was good. I really got more involved in the second reading and this is one heck of a read. The twist and turns I did not pick up on all of them the first time. You have got to try out this one as it is really great.

Really enjoyed the storyline and author's vision of the near future. Kept me engaged and reading but would benefit from a better editor. Characterisation sometimes felt one-dimensional for all the characters other than Adama. But a good read!
