Time is running out for Elsie.
Promised to a vengeful bear shifter, intent on trapping her inside his cave forever, only a mate claim with the wolf pack's bully can save Elsie from her cursed fate.

Elsie's coven always believed that she was moon cursed. Promised to the bear shifters before she was ever born, the witch-wolf shifter has until her twentieth birthday to outsmart Brutus, her would-be mate who only wants her as payback.

To save his coven, her father made a terrible, magically binding agreement decades ago, never dreaming he'd have children, especially not powerful wolf shifters. Luckily, he never specified what type of shifter Elsie must claim.

Zackary doesn't believe he deserves love or forgiveness.

Ever since he betrayed a packmate, Zackary has been making up for his sins. No matter what, he knows the truth. Once a mongrel, always a mongrel—just like his father always told him. Now the mad wolf has returned to torment Zackary and the pack.

Not one to be scared off, Elsie refuses to believe he's no good for anyone—especially her.

Fated mates or doomed lovers?

Zackary and Elsie never knew how strong their love would grow … until they're in too deep.

Zackary betrayed Elsie's brother once before. If the wizard shifter knew what he was doing with Elsie in private, Tabor would kill, maim, or use that shrinkage spell he once threatened him with.

With a meddlesome ex from her coven, who won't let go, an overly protective brother, and a brute of a bear shifter intent on trapping her inside his cave forever, it will take more than magic to save Elsie from her curse.

Do these star-crossed lovers stand a chance?

Moon Cursed is a steamy, second chance romance about a bully longing for redemption, and a brazen she-wolf-witch who goes after what she wants.

4 & 1/2 stars rounded up.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy of this book.
When I read book 1, I predicted that Wolfrik (book 3) & Elsie (this book- 4) would be great characters to read about, I sure nailed that one! Bravo! This book ties with Wolfrik's book as best in the series so far. I love that Elsie thinks only of the good in everyone, she has those "rose colored glasses" attitude on almost all the time. When they mentally fell off at the end, I admit, I cried with her. She's a fabulous character, I'm sure we'll see much more out of her & Zackary in the remainder of the series. I never would have believed I'd like Zackary, since I didn't like him in book 1-3, so this was a huge surprise for me to reverse my opinion of a former "bad" character! Maybe it helped to get his backstory, or to see him fall in love & become a better shifter -in the end. I actually felt bad for him quite a bit, since I can relate to not being good at verbally communicating. Glad to see them get the HEA they deserved. I also love how Wolfrik seems to always pop up in everyone's business when they least expect it. I think he's my favorite trouble maker (yes trouble- but in a good way) in the series (LOL). If the author writes Brutus' story as she hinted at the end of this book, I think that will be a very interesting book that I look forward to, since obviously the author has a way of making those bad boys turn over a new leaf & end up hot in the end! I predict Brutus' story will be just as interesting as Wolfrik's & Elsie's! This was a fabulous read for me! Looking forward to the next one in the series...

This story touched my heart and might be my new favorite in this series. Its messages of self-worth, overcoming inner demons, and choosing happiness resonated with me. Elsie and Zachary give readers a soft, romantic love with Romeo and Juliet vibes while simultaneously breaking your heart with their struggles. I loved the power of this story and the new shifter additions added the perfect amount of spice and emotional relief needed. I read the whole thing in one night! If you love shifter romamce, this is an absolutely, can't miss it, need it in your life read!

I absolutely loved this book, “Moon Cursed” by Nikki Jefford. The character Elsie from the series always had special place in my heart, especially since I have my own Elsie. Nikki did a fabulous job telling Elsie’s and Zachary’s stories. There is so much love, heartbreak, finding one self, forgiveness, betrayal, and action in this book. I love the additional characters that have been introduced to the Hollow and the Wolf Hollow world that Nikki has created. I’m excited to know that some of these newer characters may get a story of their own. I’m looking forward to more Wolf Hollow Series books.

Having read all the Wolf Hollow Shifter series books so far, I knew I had to read this one as soon as I knew it was available! I instantly loved the colour, knowing it was half witch/half shifter Elsie along with the proud stature of the male that is Zachary who we have already met in the previous books. There is also the bear in the background on the cover, lumbering about waiting for Elsie!

In this book we start out at Balmar Heights within the witch community, where Elsie was returned when her half-brother Tabor sent her when there was danger in Wolf Hollow. Elsie is seriously missing the way of life in Wolf Hollow along with all the friends she has made, and of course the wolf shifter she has had her eye on too. Elsie is also becoming sick and tired of her ex-boyfriend William who is always hovering around her, knowing about her curse and coming up with schemes to get her back. Elsie’s time to find a mate is rapidly lessening, she has until her next birthday.

Finally, Elsie is allowed to return to Wolf Hollow, after a discussion with her father reminding her that the curse stated she had to be mated to a shifter, not the specific bear shifter that the bear clan think. It seems when the trade/promise was made Elsie’s father Lazarus had made sure there was a tiny loophole within it. So long as Elsie claims a mate before her next birthday, she would be safe from the curse and not end up with the brute of a bear aptly named Brutus. Of course, Elsie knows the exact wolf shifter she wants as her mate. The only problem is her half-brother, Tabor would never agree to them being mates as due to things that happened in the past between him and Zachary. In fact, Zachary has been banned from taking a mate, though Elsie doesn’t see that as much of a problem, she will gladly appeal for that ban to be lifted. Tabor does not know about the curse hanging over Elsie and she would rather it stay that way. She doesn’t want the curse to become common knowledge as then perhaps people will think she is only choosing a shifter from Wolf Hollow to avoid the curse and that is not the case. Elsie does have real feelings and affection for Zachary, despite his bad history with her half-brother.
Elsie gladly returns to Wolf Hollow and things seem to be developing nicely and with plenty of time between her and Zachary until he joins her brother Tabor and his pregnant mate Sasha to hunt down a rabid wolf, Vallen, who also happens to be Zachary’s abusive father. Will Zachary be back in time for Elsie to progress their relationship enough that they can either approach her half brother Tabor about them becoming mates? or for them to secretly claim each other and then reveal what they have done?

Of course, I adored the two main characters, Elsie and Zachary. Elsie may be small in stature, but she sure makes up for her size with attitude. Elsie is very strong willed, and when she wants something and sets her mind on it, no one can dissuade her. Elsie is rather conniving in the way she swapped patrol partners with different people to make sure she got to work picking berries with Zachary. She shamelessly flirts with him and ends up having to become more and more obvious about the fact she wants him as her mate and she wants him to claim her sooner rather than later.
Zachary, bless him, doesn’t quite know what’s hit him. He is a large, strong, hard working guy around Wolf Hollow often doing more than his share of the work when put to work with his two best friends Wiley and Justin. The relationship between Zachary, Wiley and Justin is so comical, especially when they have been drinking Wolf Hollow moonshine. Wiley and Justin enjoy winding Zachary up, asking when he is going to approach Tabor about his intentions with Elsie, saying Tabor would rather kill him etc. Then on the other hand both Wiley and Justin welcome Elsie to their log where they eat their meals with Zachary. In fact, they think Zachary and Elsie getting together could be good for them as the other females in the tribe may come over and speak to Elsie meaning they will get to talk to the females more too.

The character I enjoyed disliking the most was Brutus the bear shifter who is determined to carry out the curse Elsie to himself. Brutus does not want to mate with Elsie, does not have any affection for her at all, he merely wants to cause as much hurt and distress to Elise’s father Lazarus. Brutus plans to quite literally chain Elsie to him and turn her into his slave, housekeeper. Brutus is very bitter about the fact Lazarus took some of the bear shifter land to form Balmar Heights so the curse is all about revenge to him. He makes his feelings quite clear that he doesn’t like Elsie and never will, to him she just represents payback.
There are also a couple of new wolf shifters introduced in this book. They are brothers Diego and Raphael who are nomadic pureblood shifters. We learn more about what makes purebloods and their offspring different from other shifters and their offspring. The brothers seem totally committed to continuing to travel, even when the elders at Wolf Hollow pull out all the stops in an attempt to get them to consider mating a Wolf Hollow female and becoming [art of the Wolf Hollow Pack. To begin with I really disliked the two brothers and wondered if either or both of them would interfere in the course of Zachary and Elsie’s possible relationship and future. Then as I read more it seems that Raphael doesn’t wish to settle down with a female whether she is a pureblood or not, he is perfectly happy with sleeping around with lots of women. Diego on the other hand is looking for a pureblood female wolf to claim and mate with and create their own travelling pack. Sasha explains that the closest female pureblood is in the next pack across from Wolf Hollow, and a message is sent to her to ask if she would like to meet the newcomers. There’s a kind of magic around Wolf Hollow though, and things don’t always work out as you think they may so the brothers are soon experiencing doubts about their original plans. By the end of the book I did kind of like the two new wolf shifters Diego and Raphael and am looking forward to the possible clashes and conflict ahead with them. The men so obviously consider themselves tough, alpha males and that females should do whatever their bidding is, but I think they may be re-educated in the forthcoming books!

I started reading this book with the intention of reading just the one chapter, but ended up reading three chapters despite it being late at night. I finally went to sleep that night plotting alongside the main character of Elise, wondering how things could possibly work out for her. The whole Zachary problem of not being able to claim a mate, I was plotting, thinking maybe there was a way round his mate ban. Maybe if Elise claimed him? Or Tabor spoke up for them as a couple? Or would Elsie and Zachary move to a different pack or even runaway together. Then my second and final reading session went late or rather into the early hours of the morning. This book is highly addictive reading! You have been warned! Honestly there is always something interesting happening in this book. There’s the whole main plot of Elsie and the curse, then rabid wolves attacking, new wolves travelling through the area, pregnancies for some of our favourite characters, catching up with wolves we have met in previous books. Then the dealing with the rabid wolf goes awry and causes other problems, meaning hastily called meetings and sentences doled out along with massive changes for one character in particular! I am seriously looking forward to how those changes work out for that certain character and his mate. I honestly loved reading this book, it was amazing from beginning to end. After reading the authors note at the end of Moon Cursed, I know that there are book books to come in the future so I am really, really looking forward to more. The Wolf Hollow series fits my cravings to read the shifter genre perfectly. I am already pining and eagerly anticipating the next book.

My immediate thoughts upon finishing this book were that I absolutely loved this latest addition in the Wolf Hollow Shifters. Moon Cursed has amazing, adorable characters. We catch up with older characters such as Wolfrik, and Kallie as well as well as meeting new male characters Raphael, Diego and Brutus. This book centres on Elsie, half wolf, half witch, sister of wizard/wolf Tabor. Elsie needs to claim a shifter mate before she becomes 20 yrs old, and she knows exactly which wolf shifter she wants!

To sum up, what can I say, Moon Cursed is an amazing book, with lots of fantastic plot lines running through it and clues near the end of it at the fun and awesomeness yet to come. I am honestly chuckling about the possible taking down of a certain arrogant wolf shifter by his possible future mate.

Loved it!!

This is the first book I have read in this shifter series. Not sure why I started with this one but glad I did because now I was to go back and read the others. I love Elsie and Zackary!!! Elsie is spunky and goes after what she wants and that is Zackary. I just want to wrap my arms around Zackary. He battles some huge emotional demons for sure. I was captured and drawn into this book easily. I look forward to reading the others. Great read. ❤️

I have been waiting in eager anticipation for this one and Nikki certainly didn't let me down <3

This story met my expectations and then some! I loved Zachery and Elsie. A love a good redemption story and this was a great one as much as I hated him in previous books, as the sieres has gone on you have had glimpses of how he has changed.

In this book we have picked up with Elsie in Balmar Heights after her brother sent her there for her safety to escape the danger at Wolf Hollow. She is seriously missing Wolf Hollow and the friendships she made there, plus she is missing the wolf Zachery she had her eye on and had started to connect with. Unfortunately her ex William is at Balmar heights and is always around her and he is well aware of her curse and that she needs to find a mate before her next birthday.

Elsie manages to return to Wolf Hollow when she finds that there is a loophole in the agreement, she has to mate a shifter before her next birthday not the specific bear shifter Brutus and she has the shifter in mind that she wants. Of course its not going to be that easy especially when that shifter is Zachery and he is banned from taking a mate.

Elsie may be small but she is mighty in character. She has an amazing strength and will fight for what she wants. Zachery is strong and hardworking, trying to atone for his misdeeds. I loved him with his boys Wiley and Justin.

I started this book one evening and ended up staying up till silly o'clock reading this as I was unable to put it down. I was completely gripped so well done Nikki Jefford on another great read.

Oh my, this series just keeps getting better and better! I remember that it took me some time to get into it when I read Wolf Hollow because I thought that it was all so foreseeable and ...yep, forget about that. It wasn't. And Moon Cursed also kept me on my toes, made me scream with frustration, sob, laugh, swoon - oh, don't forget to stock up on Kleenex before you start...yep, just saying, you'll want to be prepared, trust me.

Elsie is running out of time and things seem to progress the way she hoped, even though it takes a bit to convince Zackary to take a chance on her, I mean - her brother? This big bad and powerful wizard? Riiiiight... That's exactly what everybody dreams of when they think of their future brother-in-law. Not. And those of you who have read the other books in this series might remember that her brother Tabor and Zackary don't have the best history, considering all that happened when Zackary and his father tried to prevent Tabor from mating with Sasha in Wolf Hollow.

With Elsie fighting against time, a feral wolf on the loose, her meddlesome ex trying to help and everything else, things get rather tight. Will Zackary be able to overcome all the obstacles that prevent him from claiming the woman he loves?

Cocky purebloods, meddlesome and furious wizards notwithstanding, there are a lot of wonderful and interesting friends, old and new, to meet, a love to pursue and a damsel in distress waiting to be saved. Throw in a brutal and revengeful bear shifter biding his time and, oh, yes, don't forget that feral wolf and you know that you are in for a ride!

Moon Cursed is absolutely phenomenal! I’ve been following the Wolf Hollow Series for a while now wondering if Elsie would ever get a story. As soon as I found out it was happening I literally jumped up and down with excitement. Let me tell you, Nikki Jefford freaking delivered! This story meets all my expectations and more! I loved Elsie and Zackary! They were perfect once they got out of their own heads. Sweet, sexy, perfect paranormal shifter romance. Yet again, Nikki has given us a perfect 5 star story!!! ❤️ Now I want to know what happens with Hailey and Rafael 😉

Wonderful story!!!

Moon Cursed is the fourth book in the Wolf Hollow series and it’s another fantastic read for fans of these books. I took the time to re read the first three stories before this released because it’s been over a year since I read them - I’m so glad I did, I love everything about The Hollow and the wonderful shifters who live there - this series is unique because this pack are living in the wild and as a result are a little wild at heart themselves - there is such freedom in their way of life that I find such fun to read. It’s a regular soap opera among this community and there are so many larger than life personalities, dramas, bickering, fighting and steamy moments that the author has captured beautifully. Elsie and Zachary both made appearances from book one and while Elsie has always been slightly mysterious until now, I’d already formed a rather negative opinion on Zachary. I love that this story has many scenes outside of the Hollow with visits to Elsie home and the wastelands, the world building is incredible and draws the reader in. Elsie and Zachary are characters with heavy pasts and plenty of angst, their story is a wonderful telling of love, redemption, hope, forgiveness and bravery. I honestly can’t wait to read the next book....5 stars from me ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Moon Cursed had a rather interesting/unexpected twist that I thought worked quite well. However, I do wish more time had been spent exploring the aftermath of said twist. There was a lot of suspense, as usual in a Wolf Hollow book. For me, the suspense was due to Elsie’s timeline and lack of communication with Zack. I understood her reasoning, but I knew things would fall apart because of her secrets, and they did. It was like waiting for a accident to happen. It will be interesting to see where the series is headed. The author’s note confirmed Aden’s story (yay!) as well as ones for new characters. One was set up in the epilogue, but I wondered about the other as well.

Edited to add: there were some copy editing errors (first person instead of third person) that pulled me out of the story.

Hooray for these HEAs!

I have looked forward to Elsie’s story since we met her. What a story of redemption for Zachary! I adored the dance between these two and how they found value in themselves and through each other. Wolf hollow’s next generation is surely going to be interesting with these witch/shifter babies! And of course Ms. Jefford ends the story masterfully making you feel as if the story couldn’t have a more perfect ending, yet making you feel invested in the next couple and wanting the next book ASAP. I love this little world of Wolf hollow that she has created, I want to live there!

Whats not to love with this one!

This really is the ultimate "will they, wont they" love story! You cant help but love Elise and her cherry demanor, always seeing past what other people see. Its truly what makes this story special. Will Elise win in the end? Youll just have to read & find out. Be prepared to meet some new and old interesting characters with their own storylines built in

Okay, Nikki.....

I started with your Royal Conquest series, fell in love with Aurora, then Spellbound held my attention like no other.
I wasn't sure about Wolf Hollow, but you snagged me with the post-apocalyptic setting, and I fell in love.
Did I mention that I read all of the above in one week?
All of your books are "unputdownable".
I can't wait for more! (and I HAVE to meet the pups, don't be cruel and leave me hanging)

Shifters, magic and spice.. yes please!

I love how this series focuses on different couples every book but still has all the characters you have grown to love or dislike.

Unlikely pairings and finding love against all odds and enemi is just magical. This book really brought something new in with an exciting twist and I can't put these books down.

Strap yourself in for an addictive spicy mix of drama, action and love in all the most unlikely places.

Such a good book ! It has everything romance the impossible choice.... A wizard who can't take no for an answer, a free thinking witch and a good load of wolf shifters and a pesky bear shifter ! If you love Nikki's books this is some of her best work a new style of book for her. You can enjoy as a stand alone or read the previous books !

Nikki Jefford has a way with her words. She has the ability to create a post-apocalyptic world you can imagine is right outside your door. From her description of decaying suburbs to the lush woods and fields of Wolf Hollow I can picture it all.
Her characters are just as real. They are perfectly flawed. A few are slightly damaged or broken from their past. A couple are just whinny and self-absorbed. All of them bring personalities and emotions you can find in any close knit community. I knew from book 1 (because I like the bad boy bully) Zackary would be a character with some deep emotional scars. What I learned....my lips are sealed until you have read Moon Cursed. I love Elise. She is that sweet, nice, innocent (HA) girl with a mischievous twinkle in her eye that wants to fit into her new pack. Never underestimate the nice ones. We can be very cunning when need be.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the Wolf Hollow Shifter series. Nikki Jefford teases you just enough to make you want more. I'm definitely a Wolf Hollow Shifter fan.

Another amazing story by Nikki Jefford. I feel like I haven’t read a good shifter book in ages, but this one gives me all the feels of the ones I loved. Elise and Zachary are so great and I loved the dual perspective. Brutus was just wretched and made me cringe whenever he was on scene. I wasn’t sure with the brothers that were introduced but grew to like them by the end. I really liked the end scene with them. Overall I really liked it.

Can love conquer all?

I loved Elsie and Zackary's love story, which is what it was. This book gave us more of a reprieve from the extremes from Born Wild, but still had its own conflict,of course. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of Balmar Heights which we hadn't seen since "Blow Your House Down" in the Once Upon a Quest Anthology. We also see Brutus, a meddlesome wizard, and the mad wolf. Zackary and Elsie both have parental issues and Tabor's hate for Zackary, so again, a love story, but an emotional and not easy one.

🏆 WINNER of the BEST UGLY CRY of the YEAR Penned Con 2020 Awards 🏆

I am crying HAPPY tears to be honored with this award. Having to miss out on my favorite book event because of a real actual (non-fictional) pandemic was so hard. Hanging out during the virtual event helped chase away the blues until we can meet up safely in St. Louis again.

MOON CURSED made me cry before I ever pressed a single key on my keypad.

Zackary was horrible in book 1. Terrible. A bully. A bastard. Moon Cursed was his chance to redeem himself and show his softer side and his heartbreaking past.

Then there was Elsie who learned the hard way that sometimes we hurt the ones we love. And that secrets have a way of coming out to torment the soul.

In the end, though, I love reaching that HEA that makes the struggle all worth while. -xoxo-
