V. Vaughn is also known as Violet Vaughn and is a USA Today Bestselling author. Violet lives on an island in Maine and spends almost every day walking through the woods. She may have seen a bear once or twice....
Witch Remembered is book two in the Witches of Night Meadow series by V. Vaughn. It’s a sweet friends to more than friends romance.
James left Night Meadow Island to pursue a life as a big shot lawyer and in doing so he left his best friend behind. Amelia loved James for years and dreamed of a life together, but he left.
James comes and goes throughout the years and Amelia is feed up with it. She’s the one left behind. As things go James realizes, eventually, what he’s missing in his life, Amelia. He has to really work to show Amelia that he plans to stay this time and not leave again.
Amelia and James had a misunderstand as kids which lead to all the angst. I felt Amelia needed to own up to her part in all this. She eventually does, but not fast enough for my taste. She blames James. I think I’d have liked the story more if Amelia had acted more like an adult. Other then that it was enjoyable.
It’s a sweet nice light-hearted romance with mild kissing and just a dash of witchy paranormal.
I loved the first book. But this one killed that love stone dead. It killed it so completely I'm retroactively pissed at the first book too. I know the whole she's-reticent-but-he-wants-to-get-back-together thing is a trope. I like it. I like a good grovel. And this can be a great trope for milking angst. This dude gave me entitlement vibes from the beginning. But it was her family too. And his. And everyone on the island. She was just trying to protect her heart. And they purposely sabotaged her efforts, repeatedly steamrolling over her boundaries and actively scheming against her wishes. No one had any respect for her boundaries, for her consent. In my live blogging I didn't even get five minutes of 'he's stopped being pushy too' before I had to retract it. And the final straw was a conversation between the sisters: “First we have to start dating again.” “Ah, Amelia. What do you think yesterday was?”
A sweet second chance love story. Well, not really second chance, more like friends to more than friends. James left Night Meadow Island for the life of a big shot lawyer in New York. The problem is he left his best friend behind. Actually he left her behind several times and now Amelia guards her heart against him. Amelia has loved James for years and has dreamed of their wedding and a life together. That doesn't happen, a huge fight does. Fast forward several years..... James realizes what he is missing. Now he just needs to get Amelia to open up to him again. I enjoyed this book, it did take me a bit to really get into it but is was good and I kept waiting to see what James would come up with next. What would he do to get the love of his life to open her heart to him again. There is an HEA, so she opened up, but the journey there is sweet and heartfelt.
Amelia Knight is the oldest of the witch sisters on the Island. Amelia has been waiting on the man she loves to realize that she is more important to him than anyone or place but every time he went of to college and came home and then left and went off to New York never to return but now James Foster is back in town and comes over and thinks he can just pick up where he left off 6 years ago but she isn't having any of it and she doesn't seem to believe a word he says and tells him she is done with him one night and to leave her alone, but James is on a mission to get the woman he always loved that they belong together and he wants to stay on the Island with her. Amelia knows he is saying it but believing it because she knows that he probably came home for his brother's wedding and will be gone soon enough. But his family is helping him get in her good graces and it is so entertaining what James is willing to do to get back with Amelia. Great storyline and characters are entertaining as always. I was given an ARC from the author as a gift without obligations. I am providing an honest review.
The billing missed it's mark I thought. There's some witch stuff peppered throughout but it's low on the paranormal as well. I think it would've been better to leave that out and just write as a small town love story. Even so, the reason I couldn't get into this book was because of the female lead character Amelia. She blamed James so much and was so distrustful of him and his intentions, both really tanked my impression of her throughout the book. Especially when she didn't take responsibility for her own actions that led to miscommunications between the two of them. James left the small town island Amelia lives on to go to college and build his career as an attorney but they've been friends for years with deeper feelings for one another but due to certain circumstances, didn't connect for a long-term relationship. Amelia's heart is broken when James comes home and leaves, despite the fact that she encouraged it. Her hurt feelings didn't resonate with me and I was impatient with it because I felt like the whole angst in this story could be resolved with Amelia talking to James. Like adults do. Sighs.
The second book in the Witches of Night Meadow series this book concentrates on the eldest sister Amelia and her on/off relationship with big city lawyer Jimmy Foster. They have been best friends since they were at elementary school but Jimmy was determined to be a big city lawyer and disappeared away to do his law degree leaving Amelia behind. Then he returned briefly but again left her behind when he accepted a job interview in Manhattan in NY. In the meantime Amelia has started up her own very successful wedding business arranging weddings for people on the quiet and picturesque island. Jimmy is home for his older brothers wedding on the island and decides to stay for good and starts looking for property to allow him to open up his own business on the island. Meanwhile Amelia has decided they need to completely break off their on/off relationship and look elsewhere for romance. It takes time and patience for them to realise that they are meant to be, and even when they realise there are still a few little hick-ups waiting to derail their plans. A great evenings read for anyone wanting a nice romance without sex, violence or bad language. Very enjoyable.
They've been friends and she's been in love with him since they were kids. He left for college, he left again to practice law in New York...so it goes. Once more he's back for his brother's wedding, as the wedding planner she can't totally avoid him--but she can sure try. She's not going through the pain of another breakup.
Getting what you want doesn't always satisfy. Yes, he wanted to be a big-time lawyer and he was well on his way. Living in the big city wasn't the same as Night Meadow Island. He didn't have his family, he didn't live right on the water, and most important, he didn't have Amelia. She just wouldn't like living in New York and he would like, even love, living near his family. He'd even change his name as all men who married one of the Knight witches did. First, he had to convince her he was staying this time. Not gonna be easy.
James had one dream and that was to because a successful lawyer in a big city. So he headed to New York to make it happen. Then he left he left behind Amelia Knight (one of the Knight witch sisters) now he made it big he has everything he wanted or does he? His brother Liam is getting married. That he doesn't have in his life.
Amelia Knight has always loved james but he never seemed to return like she felt it. More like the friend zone, bad timing, heart crushed and leaving her behind. Now she has a business as a wedding planner. He is back in town saying he plans to stay but she isn't falling for that one. What is she going to do now? OMG this whole town is in on everyone time and knows things before you do lol! So much fun when can I move in? I loved the characters they are fantastic, they pull you in quickly, the storyline keeps you interested. I just couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end.don't miss it. Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it
This second book in the series is a real treat. I think I liked it even better than the first one but it is a tough call. I do think you can read it as a standalone but recommend you read the first book as it does a great job of introducing you to this fun witchy family.
It hooked me in from the beginning and I enjoyed seeing the story shift from the present to the past and witnessing the pivotal events in their story. I also enjoyed that they both get a chance to share their story.
There is a sadness to me in the story of this couple who have wasted so many years by not communicating clearly exactly what they wanted. She has really suffered with her pain and trying to move on. Now, he is back and wanting to make it right. She has to risk her greatest fears to take another chance.
Amelia and James have been friends for years and have felt more than friendship for each other, but the timing never seemed to work out for them. They have a wonderful connection, but there’s a lot of hurt between them. I usually don’t like flashbacks but the author did a good job of showing the journey and the pain the characters went through to get to the point they are at now. I loved that James knows what he wants and is willing to show Amelia that. Love the witch factor with Amelia’s family; the bond between the sisters is fun. This story is more of a slow burn type romance; there needs to be a rebuilding of trust. A lovely romance. Excited to read about the other sisters finding their loves. I’m really enjoy this series!
Ever since they were kids, Amelia Knight and James Foster have been drawn to each other. They had no doubt in their minds and hearts that somewhere in the future, they were going to be together. With this knowledge, they went their separate ways to begin preparing for their dream jobs. Many people came into each of their lives but they were never the perfect fit. After spending a decade away from Amelia and his hometown, James returned with hopes of finally telling Amelia just what he felt for her and explaining his dream for their lives together. This emotionally charged narrative will draw you in and let you share each of the character's fustrations with this budding relationship. I found this story fast paced and very entertaining. Good Read!!!!
A Witch Remembered is about a witch named Amelia who for the lack of better words. Is afraid to chase after what her heart wants. And that is James, but she is afraid to take that step due to his constant running away from commitment. He may be a big shot lawyer, but when it comes to the ways of the heart. He can definitely be dense sometimes. And he better pick up the pace because he's on his last shot with the Knight witch who has his heart. It's a funny, drama filled novel with pinches of magic thrown in and snarky comments and lots of advice from both sides of the family and friends. Trying to get them both to see, what they see should be.
What a great thing to read as spring begins. An off again on again romance given one last chance and all the misunderstandings between Jimmy Foster the boy who grew up with Amelia Knight who is a witch raised in a family of witches both loving the other but having difficulties expressing it! He goes away to college and then becomes a lawyer and she stays on the small island off the coast of Maine. After many misunderstandings they both realize just how much their love means to each of them and they compromise and buy a house and get married to finally live happily ever after? A feel good if not confused book until the happily ever after!
If you like a quick romance, you'll likely like this series
If you're looking for a paranormal or witch cozy, you'll probably be disappointed. This series revolves around a witch family. A different sister in each book gets her HEA after a good deal of angst. Trouble is (for me, anyways), there's very little magic compared to romance. And the romance is basically YA.
Still, the writing flows well and the characters are appealing, so they aren't bad reads.
Although I enjoyed the first book in the series, I found this was better. The story had enough bumps in the road to ensure the expected finish wasn’t a slam dunk. The character development was well done. While focused on Amelia, the rest of the sisters remained an important part of the story. There was a clear set up for the next book which was fortunately not a distraction.
I love it! I don't have the time to go all in. I just want to say I really love the way the family is always ready to get together to help each other out, even if it does backfire occasionally. They are always ready to pitch in & add their own little thing to help out. I love the tight knit community where everyone is so supportive & knows everyone else enough to be almost like an extended family. It's fun.
A sweet and somewhat magical romance. She’s loved her best friend since they were kids. But her insecurities of being left may ruin her chance at happiness. He loves her and know she’s the one but it may take friends and family to help him finally get the girl. The story is beyond sweet. The romance is there from the start they just need a really hard nudge to make things work.
This is a great story, I enjoyed getting lost in for a few hours. This is an unrequited love story with the other person finally realizing what was in front of them all along. The story is well told, with interesting characters I enjoyed getting to know and follow along with. I felt for the characters as they navigated their way towards each other. An enjoyable story.
This story reminds me of my husband’s and I. We lived near each other most of our lives and never met, but don’t give up hope on true love. But do quit trying to force it. When you are both ready, bam! It will happen. I really love this story and I believe you will too.
To love a Witch. This is a beautiful romance about a witch name Amelia and James, the man that has loved her forever, but never told her. When he finally realizes he needs her in hisLife permanently, it may be too late for their love. Can a James convince Amelia go give their love a chance to blossom?
A cute and cozy romance, this is perfect for readers who aren’t into sexual scenes or bad language. I liked that the main female character wasn’t perfect and had a few insecurities many women face.
I gave this series a5 star rating because it has a great story line. It has a great characters that keep you guessing what is happening next. I will recommend this series to my friends and family.
A good read for people who are in to the series recommend highly can't wait for the next one of the series a really enjoyable read but quick shaping up to be a enjoyable series must read the next one of the series
Amelia and James have been best friends since childhood. She loves him dearly but, his life has taken him way from their island home. Now he is back again but, will be stay?
Awesome read in this series. Great storyline two people who love each other but time has to catch up and trust is an issue. Great characters some laughs and beautiful narrations . This read can be read by all ages. No sexy scense
2nd Chance love is so hard to do properly. This was in the NOT pile.
She should have stayed away from him. No guy deserves that many chances to break your heart and her family should have protected her rather than shove her towards some loser who didn't know her worth. Shame on all of them.
friends to lovers Sweet and interesting.. sexy and fun.. it was a fast paced and fun story with paranormal aspects thrown into it.. i really enjoyed it and cant wait for the next book.
