Short book filled with so much wisdom. I am thankful to be in a Bible preaching church. This book helped me to understand how to best prepare for each Sunday and how preaching is vital in our sanctification process.

Shirley offers a simple plea for well-meant Christians in cuddly Churches: Go to Churches where pastors use expository teaching, take full advantage of the preaching, and pray God uses said Sermon to further sanctify you. Minus one star for forgetting about sacraments, but otherwise great.

Really enjoyed this book and it’s aim to preach expositional sermons that results in the growth and sanctification of the believer. It is extremely important for the pastor to be held to this accountability to his congregation. It was a great short read.

Very good, succinct work on preaching, which Shirley calls the most important means of grace for Christian sanctification.

Excellent book! This is written not for pastors but for the church body and how we are sanctified by expositional preaching.
