This was an awesome first book to the series. I was waiting for it after reading the Prequel and the author did not disappoint. The chemistry between Axelle and Luc was sizzling! It was good to see how the characters developed over the course of the book and I cannot wait to read book 2.
I really couldn’t connect with the book. I don’t how to describe it but I felt like I was just reading but I felt nothing. Usually a book induce some sort of emotion while reading such as happiness, anger, sadness and so much more. But nothing like that happened while I was reading. I was just reading for the sake of reading. Also, the characters lacked depth and I couldn’t connect with them. I guess it just wasn’t a book for me
What happen when a sexy and admittedly bad demon gets exorcised from the body that she has grown to love! Well all hell breaks loose...or should I say, she is returned to a part of hell she never really knew!
As our FMC Axelle is a sex demon who was amazingly good at her job, seducing men out of their souls and sending them down to the “boss”. But she trusts the wrong human slave she had and he ended up being her biggest mistake. Now she is in hell doing a new job which she hates, having to work with a demon who is always trying to make her feel inferior....while battling her unusual and untimely attraction to the devil himself...along with a couple of other sexy individuals to keep the excitement going.
What’s a sexy and powerful sexy demon supposed to do....but set about to make her own rules! If you love snarky female characters who know what they want, and aren’t afraid to raise hell to get it....then this is the book for you!
Grab yourself a glass of wine, some chocolate and a quiet corner you can curl up in....and enjoy the ride! This is one book you won’t want to miss!
Newton does it again with this first book to a new series about the Devil and his Demon Bound. OMW, what a character Luc is, and the sexual tension between him and Axelle is smoldering. I Love it! I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens on this journey.
Fantastic new series! Axelle (demon seductress) and Luc (the Devil himself, literally) weave a wicked web of sultry sins. Filled with passion, suspense, demons and angels.
A great book with enough twists and steamy guys to keep you reading.
What is better than The Devil himself, an Angel and a Reaper in one book? And they are all interested in the same female.... Things are very interesting!
So this started out really strong for me, I loved the dark direction it was going. This is a different type of demon story that totally sucked me in but I think half way through I kinda lost that feeling. I know some books have I love yous very quickly but In this one it was kinda unbelievable. My opinion,,,, this is a book about demons and demons are harsh creatures, so how can they say I love you with only one or two interactions? I know the main guys say they are drawn to her but they shouldn't be in love with a snap of a finger, specially if Axelle isn't using her demon charm. Then there is an angel that just feels her and gets in her dream and then suddenly he is a goner for her to, ugh. With all that said I am going to read book 2 because maybe there is a reason behind all of this. I did like that it was dirty in the few scenes and hope it gets even better.
The beginning was intriguing with the FMC Axelle's immediate exorcism, but I found it hard to connect to any of the characters and their relationships as the story developed. Every character introduced was very selfish with quite asshole personalities, and it made it hard to empathize with their personal concerns and struggles. I get that the angels and demons are all very "everyone for themselves" in concept, but it doesn't make for a very good romance.
The writing tried to go dark with torture and murder and BDSM, but I think it fell short of that goal compared to other books I read. It was more of a light fluffy attempt at going dark rather than a nitty gritty effective manner. There was plenty of smut for those interested in that part of the story, but the insta-lust between the main love interests and the dragging on about Lucifer/Luc and Axelle's "phases" and ritualistic joinings were incredibly boring to me.
I started skimming about halfway through once we were finally told what Luc was trying to accomplish with Axelle and what the angels were so desperate to stop, but I couldn't care enough to continue after the story tried to make Axelle's motivation to keep trying to survive this possibly fatal demon ritual super dramatic.
Once a while a story comes along that catches you, grips you and leaves absolutely craving more. Demon Bound was that book and more for me. Filled with exhilarating highs and tense moments, the story leaves you holding your breath and eager to read on. Every time I wanted to put it down, I found myself turning the page because I needed to know what happened.
The characters in this story are unique and relevant in their own merit, their development encapsulated amazingly within the main and sub plots to make the reading experience enjoyable. This paired with some of the most seductive, sizzling and sensual scenes I’ve read..it’s safe to say I cannot wait for book two!
What a start to a series! Eve does never disappoint with a good series. The caracters are well written and the story very entertaining. The devil himself is part of this story. Now that really is what interested me and it's so well done. So devil, reaper and angel are trying to get the attention of Axelle and that makes it not predictable. You never know what they're gonna do. I applaud you Eve.
I absolutely devoured this book, I could not put it down. It’s dark but hilarious and the Female main character is snarky, strong, and defiant against Luc the Devil. This book has a great new original spin on demons and Lucifer which made it fun and interesting to read. Impatiently waiting for book 2, which sucks since I finished this book on the day it came out.
The main character is pretty much unlikeable. By chapter five there should be some hint of a plot showing up by now. Yes she's a demon, but she's a very unlikable one, apparently stuck in hell. The mediocrity of her existence is well described. It's also boring.
Axelle is a demoness seductress who was on Earth inhabiting the body of a female for too long. Demons are only supposed to inhabit a human body for a couple of months and then move on so the human doesn't start to realize what's going on. Axelle is known for breaking out of hell and coming to the surface a couple of times but the devil himself imprisons her when she is sent back to hell this last time. He doesn't plan on letting her get away again so he keeps her in a cage to teach her a lesson for a while and then he let's her out and gives her a job. But Luc (Lucifer) starts to show her more attention and Axelle doesn't know what to make of it until he tells her he's picked her for a special task and one where she'll have to get through several trials, each one being the one that could end her existence if she doesn't get through it.
When Axelle finds out what the end result will be after getting through the trials, she's horrified and with the help of an angel and a reaper, she escapes hell once again.
We don't see much of the angel and the reaper isn't very likable but Luc was an interesting character for a while. Until we see what he actually wants and how many demons he's willing to sacrifice to get it. Axelle is not a likable character but yeah, that's because she's a demon and isn't nice. She likes chaos and bloodshed like a good demon would. None of these characters really snagged my attention because they are all so selfish and horrible, only out to get what they want.
But my main problem with this book is how it just ended on a cliffhanger. Yes it's book 1 of a 3 book series but a little closure would have been nice.
I actually started this thinking it was written by a different author (there seem to be quite a few Eves and Evas that write RH) so I was expecting something totally different. Maybe that's why I was disappointed. I just couldn't seem to connect with any of the characters and at times it felt like I was missing some background story. It starts with Axelle wanting revenge on her slave but we never really get the fully story there. Axelle is not a very likeable character. She's evil and she likes it. I'm not talking about the kind of evil that's actually good in disguise. Axelle is the real deal. She enjoys torturing men and killing them for no reason.
Then there's Luc who makes her look like and angel. He's cruel to her and anyone else he comes in contact with. He basically rapes her and yet she's so in love with him. He's disgusting and I don't care much for her for letting him treat her like that.
Sadly, the other two guys just aren't that memorable. The Reaper is sweet but there's not much else to say about him. Same for the angel. Sweet but no real depth of character there.
I'm weird about finishing a series once I start it so I'll see this through but I really hope Axelle gets more likeable. Luc can just go away for all I care.
This is the first of Eve Newton's books I've read and I was hooked from page one. Axelle is a sassy, smart demon/succubus who has been able to escape from Hell. But dallying around the wrong person for too long finds her face to face with Luc and she is whisked back to Hell and into a cage. Several months later Luc appears and offers her a release from her cage in the form of a job processing souls after their death. It's boring and she hates it, but with no other choice she hangs in there. Then Luc offers her a chance to "spice" things a little by inviting her to dine with him. He even provides a beautiful gown for her to wear. She accepts the invitation but Luc has plans for her and so starts a whole line of visits, sexual encounters that are very "distant". Axelle is confused and doesn't know what the hell is going on, and no matter how many times she asks Luc he won't tell her. She decides to go with the flow. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story that kept me riveted to the edge of my seat and then I found out it has a follow-on story. I'm going to try and get the series, because this author has me enthralled. Highly recommend.
*Spoiler Alert* Seductress & Demon Axelle (FMC) was created for one reason to seduce men on earth to get their souls sent to hell. That is until one of them gets her exorcised and sent back to hell which funnily enough is not where she wants to be. Luc aka The Devil & her boss gets her a job cataloging souls and working with grumpy reapers like Evan who they both seem to rub each other up the wrong way as well as other things. Theres a definite attraction between the two of them as well with Luc & its flaming hot!!! Theres also someone else in the mix too namely an Angel Dashiel who has a connection with Axelle but also has a job which is to get rid of her too. Both Luc and Dashiel have their own agenda for Axelle. So theres plenty of sexual scenarios ((The one in the office with Evan was particularly good)) and lots of witty banter mostly from Axella in this book which makes for a damn great read
I was looking for a RH rec featuring demons, and this certainly fit the bill and then some. Having the Devil as one of the love interests 😈😍🖤 I loved the multi POV, getting to know each of the characters, and unraveling the mystery of who they are to each other. The FMC has a strong, takes no sh** personality. I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between Axelle and Luc, even with the pent-up sexual frustration.
It's insta-love for the romance with each character, which I'm personally not a huge fan of but didn't bother me all that much. Though it does feel odd for dark creatures like demons and the Devil himself to instantly fall in love upon first sight. And they seem to quickly go from not admitting any feelings because they don't have those to declaring love. 🤷♀️
I wish there was more world building, even getting to explore Hell a bit more. I hope to see more character development and growth of characters in future books.
When you have these characters - you know you're gonna be in for an epic ride! Eve Newton has done it again. The way the story is wound around and you don't see the twists and turns until they smack you over the head, is such fun. I love the characters, from Axelle - rhymes with gazelle you know! To the Devil himself and the fact that even he isn't allowed to do what he wants and then you have the Reaper who knows too much and yet still can't stop himself - and the Heaven's Guardian Angel who's trained to resist temptation......but none of them can resist Axelle, I can see why - she's the most amazing female character anywhere. The ONLY demon to ever escape Hell 3 times. She's special alright! Strap yourself in for a fun and sexy time X lock the door, silence the phone and enjoy yourself X
Let me just start with this!! all those reviews saying this book is good are lies! This book is not good.. This book is fucking devilishly demonic. And I loved every page more than the next.. Eve has created such beautifully wicked, sexy and strong character's who develop so naturally well as naturally as a demon and a devil can... I loved this from the first page it had me hooked.. Axelle pounced like gazelle minus the G is a gorgeous sexy strong willed MC. I love reading life to strong women with attitude cause I can relate on some level.. and well the devil is .. the devil sexy as sin and all things hot.. this series has been jazzed up so if you have previously read I would suggest re reading as it's spicy new content will have you on your knees begging for more.. I also recommend reading the prequel it builds on the demon bound world seamlessly..
Within the first 32 pages or so, I was going to call it quits. I decided to push through it more, and by around page 80 I was still conflicted, but was a bit more into it than before. Finally I was reading along, not wanting to put it down for something else and was actually somewhat into the storyline. It isn't anything I'm finding too exciting, though I like both Evan, who seems like a sweetheart, and Dashel, despite not knowing much about him yet. He's heaven's guardian, yet is so willing to drop everything, "fall from grace" for a demon female he doesn't really know, and says he's confused. I get it, but there isn't much chemistry or story there, yet.
I'm on to the next book, anyways, I'm far enough in to be curious what happens next.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about this book. I actually had to walk away from my reader before coming back to leave a review. I 100% like this book but it left me feeling unsettled. Like I am missing some things along the way. How will she handle a Reaper, an Angel, and the Devil? On top of that, an ex of the Devil comes back to cause problems. This book definitely leaves you hanging at the end. I will definitely have to read the next book because so much was left open. I guess that is one way to draw readers to the second book. There is so much that can happen with where book 1 left off. I can’t wait to see what is next. The main female character previous host has left me confused as well. I can’t wait for that to play out.
Another great book by Eve Newton! She always surprises me with the amazing characters she writes. Axelle is amazing. She's strong, has a snarky sense of humor, and knows what she wants. The 3 guys vying for her attention couldn't be any more different (Devil, Reaper, Angel) yet they are all connected in some way from their pasts and the ritual that the Devil has been trying to complete. There were some interesting twists thrown into this book, and I'm excited to see how they develop as the story continues, especially with the little cliffhanger we were left with at the end of the book. It should be a fun ride!
Some interesting characters in here...the Devil, demons, angels, slaves... After escaping Hell, our demon is determined to get back to Earth...so when the Devil takes more than a passing interest in her, life gets interesting! Passing test after test without knowing why things begin to rollercoaster especially when angels and reapers throw their weight into the ring! Although a reverse harem, the first installment is a slow burn...but with the characters now in play, book two looks to be of a higher heat level!!!
A Demon Seductress is chosen by the Devil for a special yet unknown ritual. She’s used to having her way with men, and she’s in love with the Devil and attracted by a Reaper while dreaming of a gorgeous Angel. A Elle has plenty of sexy men in her life, but she’s frustrated because the Devil’s ritual requires her to abstain. She’s a rule breaker, so she has fun pushing her limits to see just how far she can push the Devil.
Eve revamped this book so that it is Reverse Harem and it has all the good elements. The devil, a ritual, a angel, reaper and much more. I absolutely love that each of the guys in this book are different it makes for some good relationship development. There is much more to come and I'm excited to read more.
Demon Bound sounded pretty interesting before I read it and even more so afterward. Axelle (rhymes with gazelle) is the FMC and is a Demon Seductress that the Devil chooses for himself, but there is a dangerous ritual and two other beings that are determined to save her from it. I don't want to give away the ending, but I need Demon Freed next month.
Wow!! What a great read. This book sucks you in right from the beginning. I have not read a book quiet like this one and let’s just say that I’m not disappointed what so ever. The relationships that are starting to be built, the trials that Axelle has to go through... all are unique in their own way. Pick this book up. You won’t regret it.
