“Convenient Lies” was such a perfect holiday read for me! Even though it technically starts with a tragic loss of the main character’s beloved one and her trying to move on, it’s one of those “feel good” books that leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside after you finish them. As soon as she meets Erik, she instantly feels a connection with him even though she can’t quite explain it to herself. And when the two are forced to spend a few days together in a secluded cabin due to a storm, more and more details start to resurface about both characters’ past. However, this is where unexpected guests show up - also from Erik’s past - and threaten to turn their little heaven into hell. Romantic, suspenseful, featuring wonderful characters you’ll find yourself rooting for, “Convenient Lies” is a perfect read for all fans of the genre. Five stars!

Enjoyable read
Love will always find a way. Wouldn't it be great if this was true? I admit, sometimes it does happen, and it was refreshing to read this story of two people who accidentally found each other again after several years --- or was it fate?
When Kate and Eric meet again at a filling station, they both get a feeling of déjà vu, but Kate pushes aside her emotions. Eric changes her flat tyre --- out of the goodness of his heart --- and Kate, with Eric on her mind, drives away. Suddenly, she is caught in a snow blizzard and loses control of her car. Unfortunately, or should I say, fortunately for Kate, she crashes into a car and who is the driver? None other than Eric.
After that, the story takes on a lot of twists and turns.
An enjoyable read.

I’ve read several of Ica Iova’s books, loved them, and almost missed Convenient Lies – memo to self: follow the author on Amazon!
Catherine is a feisty heroine and the story is strong and different. However, the thing that draws me in is the vivid and evocative writing style: “One day, she and Mike were planning their future, and the next she was all alone... a deer in life’s headlights”.
“She” is Catherine, and two years on, her best friend tells her she’s grieved long enough, and plunges her into danger, and into a battle against a new love who brings trouble along for the ride: Cadillac Man, Eric!

I really enjoyed this romantic and suspenseful story with some good twists. The characters came alive and their secrets were gradually exposed, placing them in dangerous and interesting circumstances. I loved how Erick got under Catherine’s skin. She was a sarcastic and broken woman who kept pushing him away, until she couldn’t anymore. A worthy, page-turning read. I’m glad I found this author and will read more of her books!

Convenient Lies is the first book I've read by Ica Iova and I'm thrilled that her amazing cover caught my attention! Especially, since I love reading an angsty romantic suspense with a sexy hero and a feisty female heroine. Catherine and Erik were smoking Hot and I just loved all the twists and turns that came together in the end. So, grab your beverage of choice, curl up in your favorite chair and get lost in this snowy wonderland full of intrigue and deceit.

This is an easy-to-read suspense romance.
Nicely edited with a smooth pace the story follows Catherine, a widow of two years, and her Christmas vacation to do something different.
When she crashes her car into Erik's car it certainly becomes a different type of holiday!
Insta-love mixes with old friendships to create a really pleasant read.
