4.5 Baseballs
It's been a minute since we visited this baseball team. But Hawk brings us right back in the fold as if we had never left. I sign of good characters in that as soon as I read the names again, I could remember their stories.
This one follows BoRe pitcher Hawk and his road to recovery after surgery. He heads home to his parents ranch, gets caught up int he small town drama and falls head over heels for a woman who has no idea who he is. She just likes him for him. Through in a group of kids, secrets from past relationships and a literal field of dreams. Perfect romantic read!
Loved the chemistry between Hawk and Bellamy. Loved how Hawk just took her life in stride. Fit himself right in taking care of her and her son like he had always been there. Loved the ending so much!
Great addition to the series. So happy to see this HEA!

When Bellamy's son doesn't make the baseball team, she wants to do everything she can to help him. Then a new coach takes over. A gorgeous new coach that Bellamy has no idea is actually a professional. Can Hawk and Bellamy make a connection and maintain it? What about once Hawk's done rehabbing his arm? Does he head back to his real life and leave Bellamy, Chase, and his new life behind?
Heidi's baseball stories are always entertaining, but I think she stepped up a notch with Hawk because I loved this one even more. Probably because Hawk and Bellamy are such great characters and the life they create together is so realistic and engaging that I felt like I was right there with them.

Single mom, Bellamy Patrick, needs to find help for her son so he can make the Little League Baseball team. Injured Baseball Pro Hawk Sinclair, comes home licking his wounds and trying to put his head and body back in baseball. When the two connect and the hometown hero tries to fix all that is wrong with the league, not only do sparks fly but futures are changed and priorities are reversed. But what happens when injuries heal and secrets are revealed? With wonderful characters the reader cannot help but fall in love with and a storyline that epitomizes romance and baseball this is another book in the series that should not be missed. I absolutely love Heidi McLaughlin's Boys of Summer!!

It's not a five star but really close. I do like the story, characters, and setting very much. It got a little confused at the end but life can become confusing like that....well, maybe not like Hawk's surprised ending...
The HEA epilogue was nice too.

The latest in the fantastic “The Boys of Summer” series by Heidi McLaughlin, and as much as I found that it took a while to grab my attention, once it had it, there was no putting the book down.
I will admit that so far, I have loved the fact that each of the books in the series reads well as standalone novels and Hawk is no different, it is perfectly placed in the series but boy oh boy does it stand tall in its own right.
Hawk needs no assistance to show you what he is made of, he can manage that perfectly well on his own.
Hawk is back in his hometown recuperating from an injury that he is struggling to allow himself to not only come to terms with but to also heal from, it is all going much too slowly for him and being separated from his team and the sport that encapsulates everything that he loves in life…Baseball.
His place on the team as the star pitcher means that he is used to having everything he needs in life but what he needs now is to be back in the team but whilst he is waiting, boredom is his achilles heel and he gets co-opted into help coaching a kids baseball team. Well, anything is better than wallowing around doing nothing and the order from the medics to rest up is so far off his radar that this might be just what he needs to occupy his mind whilst his body heals.
Single mom Bellamy wants what’s best for her son and so when he says that he wants to play baseball, she is ready to do what it takes to help him reach that goal, so when she discovers that there is someone coaching a team in town, she is first in line to get her boy on the team. I loved that she had no idea who Hawk was, it gave the pair of them the clean slate that I think they both needed to get to know each other.
Overall, I think the pair of them were perfectly matched, they had an honesty about them that meant they were impossible not to get involved with.

Hawk is book four in the The Boys of Summer series. It can be read as a standalone. It's told in the dual POV of Bellamy and Hawk. This one started off a bit slow for me and it took a little bit for me to get hooked in.
Hawk is a star pitcher that has suffered and injury. He's back in his hometown to rehab and rest. His whole life is baseball and he's struggling with his injury. He gets talked into coaching youth baseball. Hawk's a good guy. Even though he's really good baseballs player, he not cocky at all.
Bellamy is a single mom with an ex that's kind of a jerk. She's a real estate agent and works hard. Her son wants to play baseball but he keeps getting railroaded until Hawk comes to town and starts coaching. When Bellamy meets Hawk she doesn't know he's a pro baseball player which makes their story so much better. These two are cute together and they have a great story.

Bellamy is a devoted single mother who would do anything for her son who dreams of playing baseball. The only problem is that he keeps getting rejected by the team, but she hopes a new coach will bring a new opportunity.
Hawk appreciates that Bellamy sees the man rather than the baseball player while Bellamy can’t help but be attracted to his sweet and sexy personality especially when it comes to her son. Great characters, hot chemistry and all the feels in this small town sports romance.

A lot of drama all for some kids to play baseball. Seriously you would thought this was a mafia romance or something.
2 reasons why book went from maybe 4 stars to 2 stars
- the way the author made Annie (not heroine) to be a bad mother at the end. Why the switch? She was perfectly fine at the beginning and the end end she was abandoning her child and being hateful. I hate when authors don’t keep their characters consistent. I think the author just got lazy and could not come up with any other way to end the story the way she wanted to.
- the heroine uprooting her son’s life again to follow a man she hadn’t even known for a year. Her son Chase after being bullied and not having friends had finally met some friends and was beginning to enjoy where they moved to, but she decided she was going to follow some dick. Awesome parenting.

This book was a case of the more I read, the more I like what was happening. Hawk seemed to be floundering at the start, back home, hurt, not really sure of his place in anything any more. But the longer he was there, the more time he spent with Bellamy the more things seemed to come together for him. I think the injury gave him a new perspective on what was important and what wasn't. You can see how he probably won't avoid his home town any longer, but look forward to going back there, to spending time with his family and showing off his new family as well.

When you finish a book and you can’t stop smiling you know it’s a good one. I’m sad that there aren’t more books in this series and hope it’s only a matter of time. This book is great.

Hawk Sinclair is a cocky baseball player who is hurting. He's harboring a secret that can change his life both professionally and personally. Baseball has been his life and the possibility that he may not be able to pitch a world series game is front and center in his thoughts as his catcher signals for the next pitch. The brilliant Heidi McLaughlin is one of my top go to authors, so just seeing her name has the 5 stars flying, and I've yet to be let down by ANY of her stories to date. Hawk is a star pitcher, who isn't back with his boys when the season starts, as he got an injury which has him on the bench for now. Since he got injured, he's been truly suffering, because baseball is his life, so not having it in his life, even temporarily, is really messing with him. Luckily, he's talked into coaching a little league team while he rehabs, which does help him immensely. Bellamy is a single mother to a super cute little boy, with an ex who is a total douche. Her son is dying to play baseball, but so far, he's not been able to, and not because of his hardworking mom. However, when Hank comes to town, things get better for Bellamy's son, plus Bellamy & Hawk as well. She doesn't know he's a pro ball player, and Hank finds that refreshing, so their very cute, with a side of sexy, journey starts. It's a journey that fills the heart up, but there are some bumps in the road. They make up some f-bomb worthy twists, but they also throw out the angst as well. First of all, Heidi. . . wow. . . how to do you keep surpassing my already high expectations?
I loved this book. I have read her previous work but this one was definitely in my top 5 favorite.
Hawk is on leave due to an injury. He goes to his hometown for rehabilitation and there he has to face many surprises from family and friends alike. However, his love for baseball will help him find what has been missing in his life.
Back in his hometown, Hawk meets Bellamy. Bell is a mom that will do anything to see her son happy. Bellamy is starting over with her son. She wants him to play baseball however; due to some bullies (both parents and kids alike) who will do anything from allowing them to play.
Nevertheless, with the help of Hawk, these outcast young players may just have a chance to fix the corrupted system of little league baseball. And who knows he might just walk away with the girl too?
I must say that the kids were an added bonus that made this story so rich of entertainment. LOL. I loved Matty and the kind of girl she is.
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I loved to see how things develop between our two main characters, Hawk and Bell.
It can be safely read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an amazing HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

And there's another winner. Hawk by Heidi McLaughlin is book four in her The Boys of Summer Series. There are a few cross-overs, but because every book is about another couple, every book can be read as a stand alone. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are Third Base; Home Run and Grand Slam.

I loved this book. Bell is a mom that will do anything to see her son happy. But she won’t do what the creep of little league baseball propositions. The kids are bullies and so are their parents. It’s sad that Chase and some of the kids are kept out of the games they want to play because of spiteful adults. Chase has a father who isn’t a father at all. He’s a poor excuse of a human being for how he treats his son.
I like that Bellamy doesn’t care and she gives her ex attitude and she tells him things how they are. Bellamy deserves so much better than the jerk she married and then left her. It’s great that she meets Hawk and how he treats her. It’s nice to see that Hawk is great with Chase and with his nephew Nolan. His brother in law is a jerk for the way he treats Hawk and how he has chosen what he wants his kid to be.

WOW!!!! What an amazing 10 star story this was. I might have shed a tear or two. I have read pretty much all of this authors amazing stories but Hawk surpassed my already high expectations.
Hawk is on leave due to an injury. He goes to his home town for rehabilitation and there he meets Bellamy. Bellamy is starting over with her son. She wants him to play baseball but the town is corrupt. Hawk will step in more ways then one.
I devoured this amazing story in a matter of a few short hours. A solid page turner that consumed me. It was highly addicting and captivating. It was full of surprises. An amazing storyline that had me feeling so many different emotions. These characters were perfectly created. An emotional roller coaster ride. Bottomline this is 2019 must read.
It can be safely read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an amazing HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

I wasn't sure I was gonna like this book, but damn I couldn't put it down.
Hawk is the starting pitcher and when he doesn't inform his trainor of the pain he is experience it ends up costing him half rhe season. After having surgery Hawk returns home to Montana to recover. While out riding his mother's horse Hawk comes across a beauty and starts falling, love at first sire.
Bellamy is the town realtor and mother to ten year old Chase. She has her mind set on selling houses, but more importantly getting her son on the Little Leage team. When propositioned that she sleep with the coach or her son doesn't play she chooses the later.
Determined to get the towns Little Leage teams back to what they were meant to be in the first place, everyone can play, Hawk takes on the challenge of coaching the kids no one wants with the help of Bellamy's boss. Will Hawk be able to get Bellamy to fall for him in the short time that he has in Montana and what trues with Hawk uncover about an old high school fling. Read Hawk to find out!
Hoping for another book too many things left unsaid at the end of the book and who doesn't like to see what's up with the Renegades.

The Boys of Summer book #4, Hawk, is absolutely fantastic! I absolutely love these characters. Told in dual POV, which I enjoy getting the in depth look of both characters and their emotions. Hawk and Bellamy both have their own challenges holding them back.
Bellamy is a single mother who has a creep of an ex that treats her and their son awful. However Bellamy is able to stand her own ground when dealing with her ex and the people involved in the Little League.
Hawk is a professional baseball player who goes back home to recover from an injury.
When Hawk and Bellamy meet, there is for sure chemistry there. Hawk is happy that Bellamy doesn’t see him as only a Super Star Baseball Player but as the man he is. Together they both want what’s best for the kids.

Bellamy and Hawk's story was interesting to say the least. She is trying to get her son, Chase, on a local baseball team. She is unwilling to be bullied into sleeping with the current coach to do so. Hawk returns home for rehab on his throwing arm and finds things are different in his hometown. He is truly unaware of how bad things really are. To say the rumors abound in this book is an understatement. There have been secrets held for years that come to the surface with him being back in town. I thought he and Bellamy were quick to fall for each other, but it seemed to work for them. Their age difference wasn't a big deal and didn't seem to hinder their relationship at all. It was nice to see it was an older woman for a change. I was hoping for more of a wrap-up with his sisters and brothers-in-law at the end. Most of the townspeople seemed to have issues acting kindly to others.

I really enjoyed this book. The pace was great. I feel like the little nuggets of drama kept you turning the pages. Hawk is a Professional baseball pitcher who is injured and returns home to rehab. While home he meets Bellamy a single mom of a 10-yo boy who just wants to play baseball, but due to shady small-town politics he is being black-balled from joining the town’s little league team.
I love the connection between the characters. I love the setting and the overall dynamic and f the book. This book will keep you engaged and you will fight for the ‘underdogs’ while reading. This book made my heart flutter and made me want to hurt the mean people. You feel the hurt, the joy, the love and the anger that these character feel.

One of my top favorite tropes in romance is sports and single parent, so of course I dropped everything when Hawk released. Bellamy is the single mom of baseball loving Chase. She does everything she can for her son, but there are some lines she’s unwilling to cross for the coach of her son’s baseball team. Bring in Hawk, a professional baseball player. Recovering from an injury, Hawk heads back to his hometown, where he’s offered a position coaching Chase’s team. I loved Bellamy and Hawk together, and how he was with Chase. I also enjoyed their camaraderie and connection, and how devoted Hawk was to teaching the kids in town how to play. Although this is book four in the Boys of Summer series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Hawk is a definite must read, and one of my favorites of 2019.

"Hawk" by Heidi McLaughlin was such a fun read. I immediately liked Hawk—he’s supposed to be taking it easy after surgery, yet he ends up coaching a little league team instead. On the other hand, Bellamy is just trying to help her son fit in, and she doesn't have time for the town’s ridiculous baseball politics. Their banter had me smiling, and despite their stubbornness, the chemistry between them was impossible to ignore. I couldn't stop flipping pages to see how long they could pretend they weren’t completely into each other.
What I enjoyed most was how real both Hawk and Bellamy felt. They’ve both been through a lot, but together, they make each other better in a way that works. And let’s be honest—a grumpy baseball player with a heart of gold coaching a bunch of misfit kids? I was all in. "Hawk" is a fantastic addition to your book collection. Happy reading…enjoy!

Good lord! Hawk and Bellamy were everything I wanted. I loved every second of this story. Bellamy has to move back home following her divorce. What she didn't bargain for was running into the man she had a crush on.
Bellamy is amazing. She's a fantastic mom to Chase. She loves that boy with all she is. I loved watching her get what she deserves. She's strong, sweet, and exactly what Hawk needed.
Hawk is a great player, but he needs to recoup. He's found a place to do that. There's no place like home, especially when you find the person you were meant to be with there. I loved watching Hawk win Bellamy. Most of all I loved watching him find himself again.
I loved this book from start to finish. It was everything I needed to get my mind off of a difficult time.

There is so much going on in Hawks book, and I absolutely loved it.
Hawk was such a great character to read. He was sweet and charming and really just a gentleman. Usually the Heroes in sports romance novels can be cocky and super alpha and I love reading this genre for that reason. But it was such a refreshing change to read someone as fantastic as Hawk.
Bellamy was an equally wonderful character. The love she has for her son and the people around her was nothing short of beautiful. Put these two together and it ended up by being a truly incredible book to read. Hopefully there will be more books in the series to come.
