Christian Holbrook and his two brothers are celebrating their little brother's graduation from Graduate school by indulging in the family tradition of a fishing trip to Apple River Nature Preserve for the weekend. Things go from great to bad when Christian wanders into a cave and is bitten by a large wolf. It's strange since there are no wild wolves have been extinct in Apple River for generations.
Libby is a workaholic nurse in Apple River's Emergency Room. She's taking on every shift she can and going home to take care of her wheelchair bound mother. She has buried herself in work to deal with the pain caused by her father's disappearance when she was a child. She won't abandon her mother by opening up her life to new people. Her girlfriend says she needs to slow down and find herself a man to share her life with. Her mother wants her to stop hoping for her dad to walk back into their lives and move on with her life. Libby isn't ready to move on.
When Christian is rushed into her Emergency Room, Libby loses her sense of self as she nurses her handsome patient back to good health. Together, Christian and Libby grasp the red string of Fate that has bound them together and start a relationship. But can their developing love withstand the danger of Christian's inability to understand and control his newfound ability to turn into a wolf?
Wild Temptations tells the love story of Christian and Libby by alternating first person chapters between the two. Both feel like regular people just trying to live their best lives before Ms. Carr hits them with the inciting incident.
I appreciate that the main conflict of this isn't some big bad wolf to be defeated but rather dealing with the trauma that comes with a major medical diagnosis or accident. It's change that's the enemy. Christian must find a way to accept or cope with what he has become and how it clashes with his old life before the accident.
I am disappointed that we don't see much of his old life outside of a lunch date with his little brother, Eric, once he's out of the hospital. We get told about his store and his family but we only see it with how he interacts with his brothers at the beginning of the book.
Libby takes the news of what Christian is a lot easier than I expect any person to. If my boyfriend turned into a wolf, I would have a lot of questions and concerns. Especially as a nurse, once I learn it's like a transmittable disease that was triggered by a bite.
This is set up well for sequels. There are a lot of questions left to be answered. Bloodlines, magic, packs, and a brewing war are things teased that I hope I will see come to fruition. Wild Temptations was my introduction to Renee Carr's work and I look forward to reading more.

Christian is out camping with his brothers and goes off walking one morning in the forest and finds a cave. He goes in there and sees a wolf who seemed to be scared and injured. Christian approaches the wolf but the wolf bites him and runs away. Christian stumbles to the camp site where his brothers help him and take him to the hospital and there he meets Libby.

Somewhat different.
I love reading paranormal novels whether it's about shifters, magical beings or the paranormal and supernatural combined.
Often Author's tend to follow similar trends or scenarios for a number of reasons, but it's extremely refreshing when you're suddenly dropped inside a novel that gives much of what we expect in a book about shifters in a different way.
Renee Carr has created the beginning of a brilliant series about shifters and their magic, while giving us the amazing view of how their lives, their friends and everything they understand can be striped from them in a blink of an eye.
Meeting Christian and Libby and seeing them for the caring compassionate people they are, you're quickly drawn into how they have become such tender balanced characters, whose complete personalities show us how determined they both are to protect those who are important or need them in their lives.
Reality has given both of their families a taste how easily everything can change, yet these two characters do whatever it takes to keep those they love within a world of safety, protection and love.
You get to view the shifters world from a different perspective while understanding how deeply the changes that occur can cause a dominoes reaction to everyone involved.
Beautifully written with tons of depth, compassion and almost a personal understanding of seeing all that occurs through another's eyes.

Wonderful written wolf shifter story that I enjoyed reading and reviewing. From the first chapter you get how close the brothers are while they were camping celebrating Brighton's Master's degree and thru their time at the hospital while Christopher, a small town sporting goods store owner who struggles after being bitten by a wolf in the cave and then Libby is introduced. Libby, nurse in a small town hospital sees Christopher wheeled in to emergency and is strangely drawn to him. When Libby was younger her father disappeared and her mother got into a car crash and is confined in a wheelchair. When she looks outside thru the windows toward the forest she feels something is watching her. When Christopher is released from the hospital, Libby volunteers her guest house. During his stay the romance blossoms along with Christopher discovering he can shift to a wolf along other things. Will their romance survive? A touchily shifter story I could not put down till the final page. I can not wait for the story about the other brothers Eric and Brighton. This wonderfully-written wolf shifter story is one that I enjoyed very much reading and becoming acquainted with it's wonderful characters. From the first chapter you get to see how close the brothers are and while they were camping celebrating Brighton's accomplishments and thru their time at the hospital while Christopher. He is a small town sporting goods store owner who struggles after being bitten by a wolf in the cave and then Libby is a nurse who is treating him as he struggles with his change and what it does to his mind and body.

A fantastic read by Renee Carr. The characters in this book are well defined and make the story enjoyable. I love the heroine, Libby, the caretaker, the nurse and lover. Christian is the hero, big brother, protector and lover. These two light up the sheets, but each have questions that need answers before moving forward. Libby lost her father when she was young. He went out one day to the woods and disappeared. Her mother in her grief had a horrible accident that has left her confined in a wheelchair. When looking at the woods, Libby feels she is being watched by yellow eyes. I loved the fact the hero had no idea he had shifter blood in his DNA, but after being bitten by a wolf and after a stay in the hospital, he soon learns of his fate. Will Libby and Christian find the answers and will there be a HEA for everyone?

I liked the way this story started out. Christian and his brothers are on a fishing trip in the forest. When he goes for a walk he is bitten by an injured wolf and taken to the emergency room. He is unconscious and highly feverish. Libby is a nurse at the hospital and was drawn to Christian from the minute he was brought in. She lost her father several years ago in the same forest fishing. She helps Christian during his rehab since he refuses to involve his brothers. I did love the way he got along with her mother and how close they got. Libby was the first person to see his wolf (aside from his mentor). Christian needs to know what the changes in his body are, how to control them and just how to live with it. This is the first book in The Holbrook Brothers Shifters series. It can be read as a stand-alone book and does not contain a cliff hanger.
This book is easy to read and enjoyable. Libby and Christian become infatuated from the moment each sees the other. Their friends and families also see how good they are for each other and do not provide any push back on the relationship. This reduced my enjoyment of the book.
Libby is very forthright with Christian; however, Christian keeps secrets from Libby which later endangers her. Neither of them mention this, which I found distracting. I hope the future books in this series will contain some more complexity.

Libby is a nurse she is instantly attracted to a man when he is brought into the E.R but she doesn’t know why, Christian is out camping with his brothers when he goes out for a walk one morning he’s bitten by a wolf he then wakes up in the hospital and he’s instantly attracted to his nurse. Libby lost her father years ago but she believes that he is still alive but she feels like someone is watching her, when Christian leaves the hospital he needs a place to stay so Libby offers him a place to stay but Christian wasn’t bitten by no ordinary wolf and he starts to change. Can Libby and Christian help each other out and will their love go anywhere?. Fantastic story I enjoyed it and I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book. The wild shifters title is misleading. Christian and his brothers are fishing in their old spot. They grew up going out into the National Forest in the woods so they they were comfortable in their setting.Christian went for a walk and ended up in countering a distressed werewolf shifter who then bit him. Christian's Brothers took him to the hospital where he met nurse Libby. After they meet there seems to be an immediate attraction between the two and the romance continues. Libby has her own set of the anxieties and stressors. An interesting and emotional story between Libby and Christian and her family and his family left me with a good feeling!

I received an ARC copy of his book directly from the author, Renee Carr. I really enjoyed this book. It is well written. I found her portrayal of Christian and his relationship his brothers was true to life. I particularly liked the way that Christian’s becoming a shifter was written. The development of the relationship between Christian and Libby was endearing. I loved their instant connection. I was unable to put the book down. It was a real page turner. The surprising twist at the end was phenomenal. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series to see each brother’s transformation.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Wild Temptations by Renee Carr is the first book in the Holbrook Brothers Shifters series. This is my first Renee Carr read. Let me start by saying that this read begins a little slow, but Don't Stop Reading! When the story catches, it blossoms and takes on a life of it's own. I loved the family connection between the brothers and found that the characters really were well developed. While the focus centers on Christian and Libby, there is a strong secondary issue... becoming shifters. An interesting read that opens up the thought process for book 2.

I found this story to be cute.
I had some troubles when starting, but the story developed nicely and main characters slowly grew on me.
Regarding the story:
It was really refreshing reading something different in the shifter romance genre. With the focus on MCs trying to figure things out and learning about themselves.
I was also fond of Ms. Carr's perspective on shifters. So I look forward to new stories in the series to see where they take us
However I wasn't particularly fond of the fact that FMC can't stick to her background story.

Do not give up on this book from the first two chapters! The author takes the time to provide a decent backstory for all of the main characters at the beginning instead of spreading it throughout the book. This truly sets the stage so that you understand the motivation of each of the characters. Christian and Libby are really relatable and therefore frustrating as all get out at times. Overall, I yelled and truly enjoyed reading this book. Would be ideal for a quiet rainy day.

This story didn't jump much, but the ending was great. We have Christian from Galena who is on a camping trip with his brothers. Libby is from Apple River where the boys are camping. Christina is brought into the hospital that Libby works at. There's feelings that are unexplained, but when she brings him home it gets going even more. Can they find out what happened to Christian? Will these feelings go further?

Really enjoyed this first book in a new series. Cristian is on a fishing trip with his brothers when he is bitten by a wolf. Now there are good wolves and wolves who are dark and want to rule the world.
Libby is a nurse in the hospital Cristian is bought to.
There’s definitely trouble, Libby is kidnapped and then there’s love.
A very good read and I’m looking forward to reading more in the series.

This is Christian’s story of being turned into a werewolf. It is surprisingly prosaic, there is no major drama, and it almost seems like he doesn’t really react to his new reality. Libby is his nurse, she falls in love with him, even though she has seen him turn into a wolf. The story is a bit flat for me, it was well written and an interesting concept, but no real sparks.

This was an exceptionally well written read. The storyline grabbed me from page 1 and didn't let go. The characters were wonderfully developed with interactions that helped to keep me engrossed. Wild Temptations by Renee Carr is a wonderful story that I have had the privilege in reading. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I can not get enough and can not wait for the next book in this seeries. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about wolf shifters, fantasy, contemporary and paranormal romances.

A refreshingly new slant on a shifter romance. The story takes you through the turbulence of physical and emotional pain of becoming a shifter when also trying to navigate a new relationship. It has enough suspense and action to keep us captivated and gives us that happy ending we all crave.
The characters are refreshingly 'every day' and easy to relate to.

I enjoyed the story of a new shifter adjusting to his new life and finding love. I thought they worked well as a couple and enjoyed how their romance developed. It was interesting to watch him learn to adapt and she had to face her own issues in order for them to find real happiness.

Great book! Libby is always taking care of others first. Her father disappeared years ago but she feels he’s alive. She knows something is pulling her but she just doesn’t know why. But the hot guy that just came into the ER might be the one to help her find out.

Interesting take on the whole werewolf story but I did find the book a little rushed in some places and there seemed to be some extra "padding" in the story which I found unnecessary. Overall a good love story with a HEA. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the rest of the series.

What a fun story! It is very well written and is a great shifter romance coming from a point of view I haven't seen before and I love it! I highly recommend this book! The characters are believable and genuine. 10 thumbs up!
