Seventeen-year-old Grace Hunter is a self-care junkie who wants to give herself facials and be her “best self.” Oh, and she’s a demon.
Fifteen-year-old Eva Hunter is racked with guilt. It was her dabbling in the occult that summoned Grace’s demonic side. But, how was she supposed to know about the deal their parents made with an ancient demon?
Unfortunately, they can’t even question their mom and dad about it. Both have gone missing. With the police sniffing around, it’s only a matter of time until they realize the minors are living alone. What will happen then? Grace and Eva aren’t sticking around to find out.
Hitting the road, the sisters go in search of answers. When they run into a hitchhiker, they find he has an inexplicable knowledge of their situation. Is the stranger to be trusted? Or is he somehow connected to the serial arsonist they’ve heard about on the news who’s burning a trail across the country?
As the questions pile up, the sisters need answers more than ever. Can they find a trustworthy ally in this strange new world where monsters are real?
Eliza Nolan was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She lived in Charleston, South Carolina for a few years, after which she returned to icy Minnesota—where she now lives with her unruly cat in a house smaller than your closet.
The second novella in the series shows how close the bond is between the two sisters as they are thrown into peril, despite their differences in the first one. A quick and satisfying read, for young adults of all ages!
Things just got serious for the sisters! On the run and in search of answers these two encounter an interesting young man who gives Grace some helpful information. This is an intense and interesting series. I loved reading this next book in Eva and Grace’s adventure.
I am loving this series and want more!! Books 1 & 2 are quick reads that send the reader on a demonic thrll ride. You can't help but become invested in the sisters journey as they search for answers. Anxiously awaiting book 3!
The Hunter Sisters books are more like a serialization of a single story than a series of separate stories. This one picks up the day after the last one finished up and finds the sisters embarking on a road trip to find their abducted parents. On the adventure, they learn a little more about the lives of demons, gain an ally (maybe) and an enemy (definitely) but this one's more about the journey than the destination, and they're still on the road when this installment ends. If you like YA paranormal and enjoyed the first story you'll probably enjoy this one as I did.
