KatieWhen I hear his voice...Oh My Goodness...The Big O has always been a big flop for me until I hear Mr. OMG on the radio. Let’s just say his dulcet tones and my finger make enough magic together that I see stars. For the first time ever!I call his show and ask for advice on my failing love life, and he tells me I need to loosen up and have some fun. That’s easier said than done until I meet Cole.I tell myself he’s just an arrogant, frat boy with a bad attitude and way too much sex appeal. But there’s something about him that I can’t ignore.Mom tells me he’s going to be my stepbrother, and it’s just another reason to keep him at arm’s length. But when Cole touches me, I’m calling out OMG for all the right reasons. And when he holds me, I feel like we could be made for each other.I need to protect my heart the way I always have, and I try, but Mr. OMG has other plans for me that I might not be able to resist.
ColeWant me to dirty-talk you into the big O? Just listen to my show. And if that’s not enough, I’ll show you precisely what a man needs to do to bring a woman to her knees.I don’t want to be at this ridiculous frat party, and I certainly don’t deserve to get yelled at by a rude girl in a sparkly purple dress. But when she pushes me away, I know I’ll do anything to get in her bed.And when I find out she’s forbidden fruit in the form of my stepsister, I want her even more.I tell myself I’m only looking to fill her mouth with something other than sass, but it turns out my little spitfire has way more to her than meets the eye.

Sometimes the stepbrother trope doesn’t work for me. Though I still really enjoyed this book!
I like the stepbrother/stepsister in love sub genre of romance, but sometimes it frustrates me to no end. In this instance the two main characters, Cole and Katie, are in college and attracted to each other when they learn their parents are dating and want to marry. Neither of them lives in the same house as the parents or each other, so it just seems silly to me to use that as a reason to be not be together.
I mean how can it be taboo when there is nothing brotherly or sisterly about the situation? The trope is taboo if the steps grow up together. It is actually pretty incestuous in my eyes if the parents marry and move in together when step siblings are young children. Though they don’t share blood to make it the actual definition of incest, it is pretty taboo for kids that spend most of their childhood as siblings to then end up together.
I have an adopted sister, and though I know steps are technically different from adoption because step siblings each still have different parent(s), it is similar in that they grow up in the same house and don’t share blood. I consider my adopted sister no different than my other two sisters that I am related to by blood. So possibly that is why I feel this way.
The situations where I really like the step siblings in love trope are when the two are in high school or college and live in the same house for a year or a few years. That is taboo enough where they should worry about their parents reaction and possibly even the public at large. In these cases I think the trope or sub genre is hot, though it doesn’t have the yuk factor of them growing up as siblings. I like it especially if they know each other first (before their parents marry).
In the situation with Cole and Katie, I think it is pretty much a non-issue since neither lived together before the parents marriage. It is weird that anyone would even think it is scandalous (other than possibly as a headline, but even then the reader would probably just blow off the article once they read the actual facts). I mean nobody would think it scandalous if things happened in reverse and a young couple were getting married and one of each of their parents met and got together. Nobody would say, you need to divorce now because your parents fell in love and if they get married your husband will be your stepbrother.
Despite the fact that I think the step siblings issue between Katie and Cole is not an issue, Katie thinks it is an issue so we have a storyline for these two. The romance in this one is terrific. I like how they meet, how they bicker, the fact that they both start out wanting just a one night stand.
Also, the storyline about Cole’s job as Mr. OMG, a shock jock type talk radio host is a good one. Especially since his radio shows “gimmick” is to give relationship advice, which is often that the single life and lots of sex is the way to go. Though he is a big proponent for men being generous instead of selfish in the lovemaking department.
Katie never had the big “O” with any of her former boyfriends, but she is able to achieve it without any problems while alone and listening to Mr. OMG on the radio. She is a big fan of the show, though she is aware that Mr. OMG sometimes gives bad advice. Katie herself has called into the show for advice.
After Katie and Cole meet and hook up (hot & steamy 🔥🔥🔥🔥), Katie calls in a second time. Cole uses voice modification on the air so Katie has no clue it is him, and he wants to keep it that way after deciding he wants more than just one night with Katie. Between this storyline, the parents marriage and a few other smaller storylines, I was very pretty happy with the book despite my issues with them being or not really being steps.
The issues I did have with the trope were answered later in the book. I won’t spoil it, but it does explain the reason for Katie’s concerns about them being stepbrother/stepsister, and it was logical. Overall, I would recommend this book as a light romance, an easy read and fairly quick (< 225 pages), with great characters and a good story.
I got this as an ARC before release so I'm a little bit late to the party, but here goes...
Mr. OMG revolves around a hugely successful college radio show with an anonymous host who is actually a guy by the name of Cole Stuart. He comes from a highly prominent family with a narcissistic mother who makes sure they're constantly in the papers and papped after a nasty divorce from his dad. For Cole, the show is one of his gigs he does where he doesn't have to worry about the family name and can just let loose.
Katie is probably one of Mr. OMG's biggest fans. She listens to the show religiously and since she's never been able to orgasm with a partner, she's even more entranced by the mystery host because the only way she can get herself off is by listening to his voice. Katie is the opposite of Cole it seems at the beginning. She's buttoned up tight, practical and very self-protective. But when she calls into the show to ask for advice on her sexual 'problem', Mr. OMG suggests she tries to let loose, not put so much pressure on things and go out there, live a little and try something casual.
Her roommate Ally immediately grabs on to this advice and makes up Katie for the night and off to a frat party she goes. Only it doesn't go so good when she runs into a guy that bumps into her and in traditional Katie mode, she goes all snarky on him giving him a few choice words. And the guy? Well of course, it's Cole. Not only that but her assessment of him hits a little too close to home and between that and how hot she looks, Cole is now on the prowl for Katie. There is much back and forth between the two where Katie keeps her walls up and Cole tries to break through them. And then when they finally start to get somewhere they they realise their parents have-not only been dating but they announce they're getting married.
Katie is appalled as to what this means while. Cole doesn't give a damn. They're already grown and out of the house, so to him there's no real taboo there. As much as she tries to stay away, Katie ends up being with Cole time after time again and these two are hot together. The feelings are already there though they'll be damned if they'll tell each other and their parents impending marriage deadline makes for a whole lot conflicting feelings and actions.
What I really liked about this book was it didn't follow the classic Stepbrother/Sister formula. They don't come to live together under the same roof, they don't fall after their parents do. They have their own world and I dug that.
I also really liked the fact that although it seems like the parents are their largest roadblock, it's really not. Both Katie and Cole have never seen a healthy relationship between two adults. One had a deadbeat, deserter dad and the other has a nightmare of a mother. And both of these two have built up such tall walls around their hearts because neither's ever seen something good and real. They are both scarred from their childhoods. And they dance back and forth with each other.
I also loved/hated the addition of Olive, the ex-wife. MY God, what a piece of work! The absolute definition of a true narcissist and her butting in to the picture just showed why Cole would feel how he did but also made your root not for Cole and Katie but for their parents too.
It seems like a short, fun read and it is but the above was really what made it good for me. It wasn't just 'forbidden' and sexy times, there was more packed into this little book then that. And I loved it for that.
No more about the story. It's supposed to be a review not a synopsis! But yeah, I totally dug this book and it came at the perfect time.
So here's 5***** 'You're only young once' stars to a little gem of a book!
Oh, I'm supposed to say this is my opinion based on the whole ARC thingy but I think that's pretty apparent..
OMG❤💞❤💞 Stephanie did it again! This was another one of her great books, I love stepbrother books and Stephanie is the queen of writing them. I highly recommend this one also😍😘❤
I really enjoyed this book. Good storyline with great characters. It’s written very well by Stephanie. A fantastic performance from both Heather and Jeffrey.
This was an ok read. It felt like it was trying to create drama where there really wasn’t any. The character of Cole’s mother was ridiculous and would pop in at such awkward scenes. It could have been better had it been more thought out and a bit better flow.
Katie's a college student who is treading water, wanting to find an exciting life one day. She does very little to reach out and grasp at anything, other than Mr. OMG. Mr. OMG is a local dj at the University radio station who gives advice to those who call in and ask for help with their love life. Katie looks forward to every time she hears his voice on the radio. It's smooth, smoky and so sensuous. She has to admit that listening to him speak is just about as good as having him right there in the room with her, or maybe not! She wonders what he looks like but is content to listen to him, for now. She's commitment phobic and trusts no man to stick around in a relationship. Mr. OMG is Cole Stuart, a college student with a filthy rich family but a history of trouble and heartbreak when it comes to trusting women. There is no better example of the worst mother ever as his mom, Olive. She is a narcissist, pure and simple, whose feelings for her children and soon-to-be ex-husband are negligible. Cole, too, has become commitment phobic and keeps his women in a neat little box where they can't break his heart. At a frat party, Cole and Katie run into one another and that's the beginning of their love story. Katie may deny her feelings but she wears them on her sleeve for anyone to see. As luck would have it, Cole and Katie are pushed together more than ever when they find out their parents are getting married. Katie freaks out immediately, thinking that they are doing something intolerable by being with one another. Cole tries to tell her that their being together is not the absolute nightmare that she fears it will become. How can they tell their parents that they're dating when their parents are getting married! By this time, Cole and Katie are becoming much more important to each other but Katie has to remain tough and keep from becoming something the family won't be proud of. Cole dealt with her insecurities really well and helped her to see that they could have the life they wanted. Their parents are wonderful characters and Sarah and Cole are authentic and developed. It just goes to show that there is more than one way to find the love and life you have to offer. Stephanie Brother comes through with another wonderful stepbrother romance!
Mr. OMG is a true gem of a release, by none other than the incredibly talented, Ms. Stephanie Brother. Let me assure you that Stephanie can certainly spin a romance tale & draw you right in to the storyline with ease. I found this book to be one of the ones you become addicted to until the perfectly crafted happily ever after.
Cole is an anonymous, albeit highly successful, radio show host. Not only is he gorgeous, but it his voice is addictive too; just ask any woman. He likes being anonymous for quite a few reasons, but the most being that it is his escape from his everyday life and for him, that's quite a plus, because if you knew who he was, you'd never believe it. It is hard to be known for just you; for yourself, when your family name is always in the paper. Katie is a vigorous listener of his and thoroughly enjoys tuning in to him whenever she can. After calling into the show, Katie takes this hunky host's advice, and goes out, with her roommate, for a night she'll never forget. This story just takes off running, at a fast clip, and you can't help but follow along. Between their banter as well as their instant chemistry you become consumed, however, finding out that they are about to become related puts a hell of a damper on things. Find out just what happens in this impeccable release.
I requested an advanced readers copy of this release and I highly recommend reading it ASAP.
You will never go wrong with any book by Ms. Stephanie Brother.
So, the story overall was good, and I really liked Cole, and Katie was OK although she was very neurotic and frustrating. I was still all on board for their relationship despite how aggravatingly stupid Katie was about literally everything! They got there in the end, though, and that's what matters. Having said that, where in the world was the editor for this book? I seriously don't even think Stephanie hired one! Most of her books have a lot of errors in them, but this one was next level! She mixed up the use of to and too so many times and blatantly misspelled words. For instance, steel when in should've been steal, etc. There were also apostrophe mishaps left and right. Both where they shouldn't be (Ally hand's me an evening bag.) as well as missing where they should be, (...radio stations website). Then there was a case of a space after an apostrophe smack in the middle of a contraction! Then despite the Cole's last name being spelled Stuart the entire book, all of a sudden it pops up being spelled as Stewart. The list of errors goes on and on, and I was overwhelmed by the sheer scope of mistakes in a book that more than likely had an editor. Were they asleep on the job? It's rather embarrassing for the author and when you ask people to spend good money on your work, at least make sure you're giving them a quality product. This level of mistakes just seems like a slap in the face, like Stephanie Brother doesn't care about putting out a well-presented product for her readers.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this story. It has it all; there's mystery, intrigue, comedy, happiness, sadness, some taboo elements and it takes you through so many different emotions it's exhausting in the best way possible!!!! I love Cole and Katie!!! Cole has not seen a good example of a healthy relationship, so he just likes to keep things simple and uncomplicated when it comes to women. He's down for a good time, then he moves on and the girls he's with know it's not going to get serious. Then he meets Katie; brash, sexy and has no problem telling you where to go if it's necessary. She's also all together too serious, a little judgemental and unfortunately has never had an "O" with any guy she's ever been with. Cole can't seem to forget Katie and he's prepared to hunt her down, except he doesn't have to cause she just happens to be the daughter of the woman his father is dating and he decides he's down for some fun with Katie. Cole also does a podcast called Mr. OMG and Katie loves listening to it. What Katie doesn't realize is that she might actually know the man behind the persona and since Mr. OMG's voice is responsible for her pleasure what will happen when she finds out who he really is. To find out whether or not these two can actually be together grab this book today, you won't regret it.
ONE COMBUSTIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Oh yeah! Stephanie spins one intense, spills, frills and chills in this maximum exposure, jaw dropping, wild ride that blasts this bad boy wide open. Jumping hoops, hurdling the trials and tribulations along with a bounty of twists and turns fuse this bad boy together piece by jagged piece. A spinning vortex of unintentional events and daunting circumstances thrusts all of your emotions into play, engaging every sense, heightening the thrills, racking it up and watching it swirl. Heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, page flipping, prize winning bombshell that keeps you riveted on a razors edge. The drama, intrigue, forbidden delights and suspense speeds up, blazing this bad boy to life flawlessly. The chemistry sizzles from the pages alluring and mesmerizing until you feel the electrifying hum through your viens. The characters personalities are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and qualities that blend with one another in perfect balance. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions you have no problem picturing each scenario creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Fantastic job Stephanie, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Mr. O.M.G By: Stephanie Brother Narrated by: Jeffrey Kafer, Heather Costa
Funny, forbidden and steamy, you can't go wrong with Mr O.M.G. This story caught my attention from the first chapter! The sexy DJ, with his flippant advice and hot voice was it for Katie. Until she met Cole. Cole bumped into her at a party and the instant spark had them both obsessed the next day. Until they went to breakfast to meet their new to be step parents. And even when they found out they were going to be step siblings, the growing bond between them and the chemistry keeping them together. But their time was limited...or was it? This spicy story has so much more to it than just attraction. Katie is sweet but she drove me crazy. Always protecting her heart when I wanted to push her to follow it. Cole is slightly broken, has a crazy mother and heart of gold. Their parents also add a spark of goodness and hope.
Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer bring this gem to life. I enjoy this team and together they made this an enjoyable listen. Each adds the perfect personality to each character. It is a great performance.
Katie enjoys listening to Mr. OMG's radio show because he seems to be the only man to send her off to the be "O" even if its just with his voice. Cole is a DJ and loves its but as a side gig he is Mr. OMG. Being the radio persona gives him free reign to be what he wants in a way as he gives outrageous advice to people. Katie meets Cole at a party and goes off on him thinking he is like the other entitled frat boys. However the next day she runs into him again as her mother introduces the man in her life and his kids. Cole is one of his sons and smirks when he sees Katie. Sparks fly between them and even though Katie tries to fight it soon Cole has charmed her into giving into temptation. What will happened once their family learns about them? What will Katie do when she learns Cole is Mr. OMG?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
At first, I thought this book was too flighty for me. Cole Stuart was incognito on campus radio giving advice to everyone to try everybody sexually now while you're young. And Katie was a student listener only concerned with getting orgasms while listening to the smooth voice of Mr. OMG. But as the story progresses, I found Katie to be a hardworking girl preserving her scholarships and working at two campus jobs. Then I found out Mr. OMG had good reason to be on the down-low. He's from a prominent family whose drunkard mother has gone off rail calling in paparazzi regularly to get the attention she needs. When Katie stumbled across Cole she had sized him up as a 'trust-fund frat boy,' then was introduced to him personally when her mother announces at brunch that she's marrying his father. He will be her stepbrother! This book gets serious when Mr. OMG recommends that her roommate's boyfriend break up with her. I'm in for the total story of how so much wrong can come to a happy ending! Yes, it does after many trials!
Love this take on the Stepbrother romance! Katie has has boyfriends, but none have made her have that omg moment. The only one who does that for her is the voice of Mr OMG on her campus radio. Trying to get her out and be social her best friend convinces her to go to a frat party. After being bumped into by a rich entitled frat boy she gives up and heads to her room. She is shocked when she sees the "jerk" the next day at brunch with her mom and new boyfriend! Cole gives off a certain persona, but hides his true self for good reason. He has been searching for "that girl" since he bumped into her and now he can't get her out of his head. Their chemistry is off the charts and he won't let up until he at least gets a kiss. The only problem is now that they kissed, the attraction is only stronger. Will they be able to get past their differences, especially when Cole's secrets comes out? Love their story!
I have read a lot of books in the step genre and while I obviously enjoy them I sometimes roll my eyes at how easily they just fall into happily ever after. This time the author not only gave us a great, well developed story with the right amount of naughty bits, she also gave us a believable story with a realistic world view.
I enjoyed being able to read this one and could feel the happiness and angst with the female main character so easily. It truly is proof that authors like Ms. Brother just keep getting better over time.
To sum up : An honest, yet completely enjoyable take on the genre...with enough O. M. G. to make you want more.
I loved the premise but I feel like I needed something more from the story. I couldn't feel them falling in love. There was just some banter and then a moment in the wine cellar, then sexy time in the pool house and then I am supposed to believe that they have fallen in love after all of that. It was repeatedly narrated how the h felt the H care for her and treated her with so much love, but this was not actually shown to the readers. I guess it is more of a case of telling rather than showing.
This had so much potential. It wasn't as clichè as any other story but it felt rushed and the chemistry didn't show within the pages.
With all of that said, it was still an enjoyable read. I think this is just a me thing.
A Must Read Sensitive and Yet Light Storyline. This is usually not my favorite genre to pick out for reading. However Ms. Brother presented such a wonderfully written storyline that I was quickly swept up into this protagonists adventure. I loved that the storyline was not built on a straight line and everything did not occur in a linear manner. Because of that scenario, it felt like real life and brought out emotions. I’m highly recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. I received this ARC from “Bad Boy Update” for my honest review so I’m leaving this for your consideration. Peace.
Take a few dysfunctional families and the surprise of finding out your latest hookup will be a step sibling and throw in money and paparazzi and you got this book.
It’s surprisingly packed with enough detail for a short book, which I love. The taboo aspect was a bit played, but I really enjoyed the underlying notion that love, if it’s really that kind of love, is worth it. That family needs happiness above all.
Yes, the sex scenes were pretty hot, but it wasn’t elicit. Some parts at the end were a little too trope laden, but still, it was sweet.
Also, there’s no contraception mentioned. That bugs me, but it is a personal preference.
I'm so used to reading the Huge series that it's rare for me to read anything that is just a single step brother romance. This book had me wondering how it would be. Without any hard spoilers, girl meets boy, doesn't know who he is. Figures he's a douchebag rich guy. She wants him anyway. Then finds out he will be her new step brother. This book was full of everything. Surprises, sex, and tension. This was a story that I would love to live.
Timing: was not slow in any parts. No one had a side story that threw off the book. It was gripping. I would love to read other standalone books like this more.
Read this on 7/31/22. It was okay. Somewhat spicy, not a whole lot. The FMC was a little too wishy-washy for my liking. The MMC was better - he went from only indulging in flings to taking a chance on his curly-haired soon-to-be stepsister because he felt like they had something real. The parents supported it once they found out, and since the MCs are over 18 when they meet, it's not like it's a taboo step-sibling relationship. The only real hurdles they have to face are MMC's mom's paparazzi antics and FMC's own insecurities. Once they decide to give it a real shot, that's basically the end. I would've liked more of an epilogue on this one.

Its an ok story. I thought the girl was a bit much. I didn't like her whining. The crazy mother was a but much. I think I would have slapped her. Just felt some of the story was just a bit out there and the kids needed more explanation as to why they acted the way they did. Also who dates someone that long before introducing to family and they poof we are getting married. The mother should have helped the daughter get clothes for the party and been upfront with her on dinner and the party. Considering it was just the two of them she would have done more for her to fit in then what happened in the story.
I stopped reading this book a while back and revisited it now just to see if it will call to me again. I understand now why I stopped. It isn't a bad story, it is just way too convoluted for me. I think what turned me off initially was all the lying going on that it didn't seem like there was any clean way for them to surface from the situation unscathed. I was already anticipating more drama and I'm at that point in my life where I am not interested in too much relationship drama. I would rather read stories with situational drama instead.
I take into consideration, though, that this is one of Stephanie's earlier books and she has gotten so much better since then. 😍
Cole wants to be known for more than just his family name. Katie is determined to live her life by organization. They are soon to be family, but the heart wants what it wants. Will Katie and Cole learn that love is okay? Will they be able to get their Happy Ever After?
Loved how these two instantly connected, even if it was a battle. I didn't blame either character for being hesitant after their examples of relationships was like. I loved how both were determined were more than they seemed. Good read!

Wow. I think we all need a Mr OMG in our lives. Katie starts by ringing into the radio station where she is given advice by Mr OMG. She does encounter him at a frat party but doesn't realise its him. Cole takes a fancy to Katie but is put out a little when she shuns his advances. What we get from here is a mother who is full of drama and has a victim complex, an engagement and two people who are going to step so etching fighting their feelings. Loved the story but will Katie come round so they can get their HEA????? Or will Cole's mom be a step to far.
Katie is a college student. Cole is a rich boy and a DJ called Mr. OMG, but no one knows he's Mr. OMG. Katie secretly loves the Mr. OMG broadcast. Katie and Cole meet at a frat party and don't hit it off, they have this hate chemistry going on. Well it turns out Katie's mom and Cole's dad are dating. But the chemistry between keeps bringing them together. Can they have a relationship? Will Katie find out Cole is her favorite DJ? What will happen if their taboo relationship is found out? Will there be a HEA?
I enjoyed this book! Good characters and story that was a great light read. I would enjoy reading more by this author.
There were a few things that I just kind of had to go with to enjoy the story, which wasn't a big deal. For example, I never really understood why Katie always thought they couldn't be together only because Cole is her step-brother. (She said why but I guess it never felt like a good reason.)
Narrators of the audio version were good too. Heather Costa's voice sounded older/huskier than the character, but she's a good performer.
I can tell that the author did a great job with a character description/behavior when I hate them or love them. Katie's drolling on and on and being judgement drove me nuts and it made me wonder...Do other people find it annoying when women act this way? I found myself extremely frustrated and yelling at her a few times, so GREAT job building her up, by the end I didn't hate her which was good. Cole's character was more pragmatic and he seemed to be the one with a good head on his shoulders. They both grew throughout the book and became better people by the end.
The characters are So interesting, Add complex!!!! And I am Obsessed With everything in this storyline!! This was definitely a unique Story, its Like nothing I ever read before and I Am just Soooo in love with Cole and Katie!! I couldn't get enough of the push and pull, drama, angsty, and funny parts !!! It was really exciting to read about the paparazzi In a book Into someone's story in their life and from their view ... it was eye opening and Crazy good!!!!!!!!
