Malik Dawson – better known to his brothers as Wick; The Vice President of The Kings of Retribution MC, Louisiana Chapter. He lives for his club. The unity and loyalty of the brotherhood give him a sense of purpose and belonging he felt he was missing after years of serving his country.
But all men have their demons, and Wick carries the pain and guilt of losing his childhood friend; the friend he feels he did not protect as they fought side by side in combat. Before he died, Damien made him promise to always be there for his little sister, Vayda; look after her and protect her if something were to ever happen to him.
Following through on a vow made years ago, Wick watches over his fallen comrade's sister.
Then one night, he kisses her, and he no longer sees her as his friend's kid sister. She becomes so much more.
It should never have happened. That's what he keeps telling himself.
Wick becomes torn between what he wants and the promise he made to his friend years ago. Distancing himself, Wick avoids the overwhelming need to claim her and make Vayda his.
When a rescue mission is compromised, and Vayda's life is on the line, Wick holds nothing back. He sets out on a mission of his own to find her—killing anyone who gets in the way.
Vayda Wilder—aka—Tequila, comes from a long line of military service members: Grandfather, Father, and big brother, Damien. All her life, she dreamed of becoming a United States Air Force pilot. Chasing her dreams, Vayda enlists straight out of high school, becoming the best soldier and pilot she could be.
A few years later, her brother's death left her devastated. Damien was Vayda's hero and the one person who she felt truly understood her.
With years of experience, Vayda starts taking on secret covert missions and saving countless lives from the evil grip of human traffickers. Soon her assignments begin crossing paths with her brother's best friend, Malik.
One unforgettable kiss changes everything—yet it doesn't.
Malik becomes distant—treating her like she no longer exists.
Burying herself deep in mercenary work helps take her mind off the man she wants until she finds herself captured by the Cartel.
Fighting for his woman, Malik, and The Kings of Retribution become Vayda's only hope of making it out alive.

Wick was the second book of the Kings of Retribution MC, Louisiana by the authors Sandy Alvarez and Crystal Daniels.

We met Malik “Wick” Dawson previously as a patched member and former military, totally alpha, badass. We learned that he watched his childhood best friend die in combat and now lived with a never ending supply of guilt. He had promised him he would always take care of his little sister, Vayda, but that proved difficult.

Vayda “Tequila” Wilder was a badass in her own right. As a former Air Force pilot, she currently worked on secret rescue missions. Her life frequently crossed paths with the MC, thus running into her longtime crush Malik often.

Wick and Tequila had a longtime history. Their chemistry was off the charts but Wick refused to acknowledge it, letting the pain and guilt from Damien’s death rule him. The authors took us through the struggles between Wick and Tequila while also taking us through several suspenseful secondary plots that ultimately came full circle in the end.

All in all, it was a quick and intriguing read. I enjoyed both characters as well as the suspenseful plot. As always, the MC was front and center demonstrating their loyalty, humor and fun. There are still so many MC members who need their forever love and I can’t wait to see where the authors take us next.

Wick is book 2 in the spin off series to The Kings of Retribution. Malik aka Wick is Vice President of the Louisiana chapter and Vayda aka Tequila his childhood best friends little sister. I enjoyed Wick and Tequila together. I loved that Tequila was no damsel in distress, she's a trained soldier and I loved how the men respected her as an equal. Overall Wick was an ok story. It had some moments that were exciting but more moments that were just blah. Now with that said I do look forward to more books in this series and I hope Nova gets a book soon.

Wick and Tequilas story is action packed pretty much from beginning to end. The club has some run ins with old and new enemies which test their strength and patience. Although Wick and Tequila have a very long history together that will bond them forever, they go through some turmoil before Wick finally comes to his senses and claims his woman.
Wick is the definition of alpha male while Tequila is an alpha female making her a fierce ol' lady. Together they are the ultimate alpha pair. Neither back down from a challenge and they are both a lethal combination. They are one couple you don't want to mess with. Together and with the club they can take on the world.

Another great addition! Wick and Tequila really struggled to come together. It was so great when they did! I can’t wait for the next story!

I really liked what we saw of Tequila/Vayda in the last book. She could hold her own with these guys and they all respected her. So when I saw that this book would pair her with Wick, I knew it would b e a fun read.

I liked reading about Wick and Vayda's history, knew the letter would mention Wick, when it was given to him. Loved that at the end that came back into play and that Vayda got to see those words, just wished we could have seen her showing it to Wick.

There was a lot going on in this one, with a lot of crazy action that seemed to spin out of control and old enemies coming back into play. Wick and the guys did what they needed to, most of the time with Vayda at their sides. By the end of the book the threats were taken care of and they were back to just living their lives free and happy.

*WARNING* contains sexual content, cursing, and violence
This story felt heavy. There was just so much being packed into this story it became tedious. Some if the connections felt forced. Some parts weren't needed at all. This one wasn't for me, so I'll skip this series.

Vadya or Tequila is an amazing character! She was a great balance of strong and independent and still human with insecurities and flaws. I loved her story with Malik or Wick. Another great book in this series.

Pretty good. It did feel a little quick but I liked that Vayda was a solider and so she just felt a little stronger and wasn't really a damsel in distress...

It was a meh read something was missing, more than one something to be honest.

But overall, considering this was an MC book, it was pretty light. There was plenty of action sure but it kind of felt like a lot of the stuff that happened was just put there to make a story and a plot but it didn’t feel relevant necessarily.

And one more thing, I’m also kind of tired of the cliche that runs rampant among MC books where you have the guys mercilessly send someone towards the reaper because they groped their daughter, and in the next scene they talk about how they are judge and jury and angels of justice that preside over an ENTiRE city.. and btw the police speaks of them like they are the second coming of Jesus. A police force that has 99% more personnel. Sure, go on make that believable.

I’m not saying you can’t paint the guys as kind hearted people that still don’t flinch at inflicting pain, I’m saying don’t exaggerate and make them angels that want to make the world a better place. And also don’t make it look like they have so much freaking influence.

They supposedly took down a freaking cartel boss and if we have some basic info on how those guys operate we would know that they have so many resources and so many hired goons, and they are always surrounded by security and cover their tracks. So this guy who has managed to build a criminal empire that even the highest of powers in the US government agencies can’t take down(I’m talking about the usual FBI, Swat teams whatever I don’t know how that works) ... he gets taken down so easily by a small time group of 10 bikers max who own bars and some other businesses. Righhhhhhttttt. Freaking ridiculous!!!

Oh and these guys also chase out every drug dealer in the city - as shows in some completely irrelevant scenes that took way too much time and for what purpose I still don’t get it.

Look I get the notion of suspending your belief or whatever when you’re reading something just so you can be onboard with the story but this was ridiculous.

Also what the heck was with all the ridiculous unnecessary scenes that had no plot other than to say that Wick got home, walked through whatever rooms and ended up in the shower giving himself a hand.. it was like 6 pages long and I though alright something must be happening by the end of this and it did only to find out that the whole thing didn’t have anything to do with the story like at all...useless.

I always start these reviews by telling myself I’m gonna write two sentences just so I have a record of how I felt about the book and I end up rambling on and on while I keep remembering everything wrong or right.

Oh and because it’s supposed to be a romance let me mention the couple. I didn’t feel anything from them. And I’m not talking only about chemistry. It felt like the relationship took 2nd place to the action plot that was ridiculous and stupid tbh. So not only did we not get a good story we also didn’t get anything on the romance side. First of all for 2 people being in love for since high school they sure took their time and honestly I didn’t see why... all the reasons given were stupid, if the feelings were as strong as they were told to be then no I don’t get it, and second it was bland, I mean it was no great love story, no drama, no angst, no chemistry, no deep connection at least not one that was shown... we were just told.

The end lol

I've been reading non-stop these last couple of weeks and even though I'm so freaking tired a can't stop.
I can't rest and think that I have a book waiting to be devoured. I can't. And knowing that the fantastic duo has another book... Guess what? I needed to start reading it asap.
There was only one problem... Wanna know what that problem was?
It was midnight by the time I started reading and guess what time I went to bed?
That's right. I barely slept and I have no regrets. Lol.
I looked like those kids that say "I'm not tired" and could barely keep their eyes open.
Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez are two queens for the MC writing. Their writing completes each other and will make you scream, curse, shout... You name it.
You'll be a mess. In a good way, of course.
Wick is their latest release and it's the second book from the Kings of Retribution Louisiana chapter.
But I must alert you to something first. For me, it's imperative that you start reading The Kings of Retribution, the mother chapter, and only then start this series. You won't regret it. But, if you don't have time to read the other books, read Riggs first and then read this one.
This new book explores the lives of Wick and Tequila.
Wick is one of the brothers. His life turns around protecting his brothers and his bar.
After his time in the military ended, and witnessing his best friend murder he knows that he needed to get out. To live his life...
Tequila is a badass. She looks though on the outside but on the inside she's broken. Not only had she lost her brother in the war but she had also seen the man she loved flew away. Being in the military can change a person but love can destroy you.
Oh. My. Freaking. God...
This book... Oh boy. I'm speechless. Stunned.
This book just made my night. It was the perfect story to lighten up my heart.
Sublime plot, very well written, super engaging and intense. It was chapter after chapter without flaws. Without a great scene. Each scene was even more snagging and I couldn't stop.
Once I started to read it I couldn't put it down. I was so into the story that I couldn't pay attention to my surroundings.
Great chemistry these two shares and their stubbornness almost got the best of them.
The hot scenes were breathless but the action scenes made me shake.
I'm so in love with this series that I'm struggling to not spoil.
Crystal and Sandy... What can I say? I nailed it again and I'm so honored for the chance to read it.
OK girls... Now spill it. What's next? Nova? Kiwi?
Please let it be Nova.I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Can I start by simply saying... wow!? Because Wick, the second book in The Kings of Retribution MC, Louisiana Chapter, took me for a serious ride. The impeccably constructed story is an emotional journey where family and love shine through. Now, don't get me wrong, this is an MC, action-packed book from beginning to end.

Vayda Miller, aka Tequila, is by far my favorite heroine ever written by the talented pens of sisters Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez. She is one badass, sassy, no-one-can-stop-me ex-servicewoman who knows how to carry herself in a men's world without ever compromising who she is. She lives her life to the max every day, always trying to do good for others and without almost no regrets. Well... except she has always been in love with Damien "Wick" Dawson, the VP of The Kings and her brother's best friend.

Wick has always seen her as the best woman on earth. He would do anything for her. And I really mean anything! Except he lets his past, guilt, and fears to be between them. They have one of the most explosive chemistry I've ever read about. Action and danger fuel their passion. The book is filled with sexy and swoony moments, but in the most unpredictable and unconventional way (read their story, and you'll understand). They are a strong couple, evenly matched, and yet they complement each other.

Wick gives more insight into the dealings of The Kings' Louisiana chapter. Also, there are cameos by beloved characters (I'm purposely not giving details because I don't want to spoil the surprise). It also touches on real issues in such a way that doesn't feel force nor given. I'll keep saying this: Sandy and Crystal's stories feel real, and Wick is no exception.

With each book they have written, I'm in awe of how familiar The Kings feels, and yet, each story is different. They constantly surprise me with the plot because there is no way to predict how it unfolds. And the story is crafted beautifully. They don't fall into gimmicks and formulas, and, in a market where thousands of books are put out there each day, that's simply amazing and special. It is a testament to how talented they are.

Wick: The Kings of Retribution MC Louisiana Chapter is an incredible book, the storyline emotional, captivating, action packed and well thought out. It draws you in and makes you feel what the characters are going through. The sorrow, heartbreak, struggle, joy, laughter, fear, anger, pain, passion, and love. You can't help but get immersed in Wick(Malik) and Tequila(Vayda) journey. Malik has struggled with the pain and guilt for years over the death of his bestfriend Damien who is Vayda brother. Torn between honoring his bestfriends wishes and following his heart. All that changes when Vayda's mission becomes compromised and her life could be in danger. Wick and Riggs set out to save her and her team. This is an amazing, action packed, heart pounding, nail biting, emotional love story that once you start you won't be able to put down.

Five Emotional Captivating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

AGAIN!!!! This sister writing duo has done it again!!
Wick and Tequila's story is full of raw heartache, redemption, heart pounding action, and so much adoration between the two of them.
Wick and Tequila have known each other since they were kids. Wick carries so much guilt from something he truly had no control over. That guilt of the incident has stopped Wick from stepping up and doing what his heart truly has always wanted.Tequila is a strong, stubborn, and independent woman who has always wanted Wick. When she is sent on a mission that goes belly up Wick has a hard slap of reality to his face. Throw in some major a$$hats who need to have their a$$es handed to them and a surprise twist and we get this beautiful love story.

I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

These ladies distroyed my emotions in this book! Wick and Vayda are such an amazing couple. I really loved their connection and how they had been friends forever. Based on how it was written you could tell they had an amazing connection.

Damien even though he wasn't around in much of the book I loved the flashbacks and his humor in a letter at the end of the book.

I really love this new set of kings in New Orleans. They are all amazing you can tell. They all have big hearts just like the MT branch.

These ladies do such an amazing job writing stores that just suck me in. I highly recommend anything they write, I've been a fan of theirs since day one. Their writing continues to evolve.

WOW! Wick and Tequila's story is definitely by far the BEST story in the spin-off The Kings Of Retribution MC: Lousiana Chapter!!
Both of these talented ladies have this magnetic pull when you start any of their books, you just have to keep going to see what's going to happen with all the guys in the series!
While I was reading, I cried about three times!! Both Ms. Daniels and Ms. Alvarez have this way of making readers feel like these characters are real people, people we could possibly know or come across in our daily lives. Or make us feel like we are the characters themselves, at least that's how it feels for me. This is one of the best MC books/series I've had the opportunity to read!!

What a fantastic read. I love Sandy and Crystal's writing and this book just adds to their collection. Malik and Vayda have known each other since they were young. Their lives have always been intertwined with Malik being Vayda's brothers best friend. This journey of their love comes through a lot of heartache and pain and is slowed because someone needed to get his head outta his ass!!! Their chemistry is off the charts and when he does finally manage to remove said head, Wick's passion and love for Vayda knows no Boundaries. Love the New Orleans MC and can't wait for the next book.

I don’t even know how to begin this. Sandy and Crystal have blown me away so many times with their writing that I shouldn’t be surprised but Wick took it to a new degree. The connection between Wick and Tequila is something I just cannot put into words. More than just emotion and attraction, these two truly are two halves of one whole. Even saying soulmates seems to small to describe what they have.
Wick is all the things I love from the heroes in this series times ten. Bad@#$, rough around the edges, but so freaking loving and devoted to his woman and brothers. And Tequila? She’s just as bad@#$ as her man. Maybe even a bit more 😉

2nd story in series - Highly recommend both!

PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE PREVIOUS STORY - OTHERWISE IT WILL POTENTIALLY CONTAIN SPOILERS.

This is a MC series and it contains all of the expected subject matter normal to the genre. If you are easily offended, or have triggers surrounding violence, language, intimate scenes, etc., then this may not be the series for you.

I do not consider this as a stand-alone story, as it begins a few weeks (timeline wise) after the 1st one ends. Both are HFN endings, without a cliffhanger.

HERE IS A VERY HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW OF HOW THE STORY BEGINS:

Wick finds out his woman is missing from a story on the news. That is when him and Riggs touch base with her “handler”, Scott, since they both knew and had worked with him in the past. Scott only has coordinates to where they were supposed to land and make their way on foot to Arturo Cortez’s compound to rescue multiple females.

They are not sure what they will find, but Wick is determined to bring his woman home safe and sound. Anytime his mind starts to drift to “what ifs”, especially since they know what Cortez’s reputation is, his friend and Prez is there to remind him to focus on the here and now.

She is a pilot, former military, and works as a mercenary on various covert missions usually dealing with human trafficking and cartels. She has worked with all three of the guys on the current mission before and they all get along and respect each other. After they take off and arrive near their destination, they take on shots fired, resulting in damage to the helicopter. She is able to land it despite the damage done. They escape and take cover in a small building located not far from their helicopter since one of the guys was shot. It is small but gives them the ability to defend themselves.

They all remind themselves that their main jobs at that time where to stay alive and not give any information up if they are captured. She is worried that her brothers in arms will give themselves or vital information away, in an attempt to save her if they try to use her against the men. It isn’t too long that multiple SUVs arrive and surround the small building proving that they are indeed out gunned and have no choice but to surrender. Unfortunately as they exit they realize that they have been captured by their target, Cortez ...

I am going to stop here so I don’t accidentally provide any spoilers.

Another great book in this series. My only complaint is the formatting. I don't think this is the authors fault either because it was fine until about halfway through the first book and it's the same with this whole book. If the authors read this I hope they will check it out because at times you can't tell who is talking. It's like a new paragraph starts right in the middle of a sentence. Once you realize what is wrong and you're into the book you can easily figure it out. It's just annoying.
Malik is the VP of the club and best friend of the president. They were in the military together. When Malik was trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life after the military is when Riggs calls him to come out to New Orleans for a visit and asked him to join him in starting up the new chapter. He found his calling.
Malik is still feeling guilty about his childhoods best friend, Damien, who was also in the military, death. He blames himself. Damien's little sister also joined the military too and she is a badass. One who he has always had a thing for but due to guilt he stays away. After she is on a mission and is compromised he has to decide how to handle all that he is feeling.

From the prologue, you know this book is going to be something. Don't read this if light and fluffy are your thing. Don't get attached to side characters, either. You will need tissues for this book. Don't read it late at night, either you won't sleep.
Wick promised her brother (his best friend) he would take care of her. Later that day, when they get hit with an explosion, while he lays injured, he watches his best friend die. Vayda doesn't know the whole story about her brother's death, but Wick blames himself. There is a strong attraction between them, but he just won't give in. He won't have a choice when the Cartel takes her. Will he rescue her and her family in time?

Thoughts- Wick is everything! Strong, smart and a honey. I enjoyed the flashbacks to when he was growing up and what he thought of tequila ( I always enjoy a strong MFC and Tequila did not disappoint. I had a definite girl crush on her.
Plot: Wick is loyal to his MC club and his brothers. There are not many things that get under his skin, except one of this things is Tequila. Wick served with Tequilas brother, but only one of them made it home. Still haunted by those demons will he be able to overcome his past, and if he does will tequila be waiting for him.
* !! trigger warnings
* Childhood friends to lovers
* Strong AF MFC

Vayda a.k.a. Tequila is hands down the most kick ass female character I have seen this year. The authors did a fantastic job of showing her strength and skills in the field while still allowing her to be feminine and not bitter. Many times these types of characters are cast as man haters and/or "bitches." Vayda is neither. She is tough and determined with plenty of sass, but she is also sweet and caring. She has a strong sense of loyalty and family. She was really the star of the show. That's not to say that Wick wasn't pretty special too. I loved that he didn't try to completely take over Vayda's life. He not only recognized the type of person Vayda was, he loved her even more for it.

There was plenty of action in the story and an old enemy reappears. The Kings take care of business though like they always do.

In this book you follow Wick and Vayda aka Tequila (Wick childhood best friends little sister). In the beginning Tequila gets captured by the enemy on a mission with the rest of her team. In the end the MC come in the rescue her and her they meet again after Wick tried to avoid her and his feelings.
The past haunts him with the dead of his best friend, but with the help of Tequila and their love, does he find some kind of peace.
Love that the MC sees that Tequila is more than capable to handle herself and protect the people she loves. Therefor she is able to be part of rescue missions and not at home with the rest of the woman.
Wick loves this about here and never tries to tame her or anything.
In the end he and Tequila get the blessing for their wedding from her late brother and his best friend by a letter he kept safe all those years.

Amazing read

Love this book. Love Vayda (Tequila) and Malik’s (Wick) romance story. Tequila is Wick’s best friend’s sister. This book starts with Malik and Tequila’s brother on the war front. Tequila’s brother ended up dying that night and Wick has since been living with guilt about his best friend’s death. This book then picks up after book 1. Tequila has been living at the clubhouse, since then Wick hasn’t really been around because he can’t be in close proximity. Vayda ends up getting a mission. While on that mission, the plane crashes and Vayda and her team gets captured by Mexican cartel. Wick and Riggs ends up bringing Vayda home. This was the push that Wick needed to man up and claim Vayda. Everyone that knows Vayda and Wick knew that this day (Wick and Vayda getting together) would come. Love how these two end up together. Worth the read

Grab your tissues

Malik and Vayda have known each other for a very long time. As childhood friends, everything began to blossom. Malum and Damien, Vayda brother were the best of friends. They served together, and we always around.
Damien saved Malik but did in the process cause guilt to live inside Malik.
Fighting his attraction to Vayda, aka Tequila, Wick aka Malik can't fight it anymore. When a notorious cartel kidnaps Tequila and her team, Quick does everything he can to save her.
Now with the cartel after them, everything is getting out of hand.
Throw in a blast from the past with a secret, and cartel after them, and a rescue mission, this story has everything you need and want.
Don't forget the goodies towards the end of the book. You'll need them.
