Go crazy for the one and only Daisy! Cheeky, extremely readable and funny young fiction from the bestselling author behind the hilarious OI FROG series.
Here comes trouble! Daisy's uncle is taking her on a FISHING TRIP! And she is so excited. There is so much to learn about fishing, it isn't just about rods and bait and waiting. Daisy also needs to know How water witches turn fishermen into dog poos Why supermarkets don't stock picknicky things like lemonade and chicken wings on the same shelf And why maggots are one of the best things about fishing!
But the trouble with maggots is they don't make very good catapult ammunition...

Trying not to be too critical but I didn't enjoy this. The first few chapters were a bit too repetitive and the way the prose was written was slightly irritating. A lot of "The trouble is..." etc etc.
But in general, this is a great series for younger readers. Maybe not this book in particular (I'm not exactly a big fan of fishing) but another one might suit!
More hijinks with Daisy, this time when she goes to the zoo for a birthday trip and gets to feed the penguins as a special surprise. I do like the 'trouble with' premise, and this book also delights readers with a tricksy outcome from Daisy's birthday surprise which was brilliant and worth the wait. But my goodness, I do feel for Daisy's poor Mum!
I get that this is a book for very young children, but I still enjoyed it and found it pretty amusing. It definitely made a big change from dystopa/suicide novels that I normally read and added a bit of light comedy into my reading pattern.
It was a very good book and I would reccommend it for younger children. Sorry this review was a bit short :/
